Hello everyone, commissioner here! This match up is certainly one I’ve had grow on me for a while after me and my friends had a discussion about it a while back. While I know that if/when Death Battle comes back, Ruby vs Maka is the one that’s going to happen for sure, but I think it’s fair to have a match up for the character I prefer where they don’t get completely obliterated by their opponent lol. Plus I’d say the connections are also pretty good too.
-Both are young teenagers in charge of teams they share a name with for establishments meant to help protect the world from the monsters that inhabit it (Ruby being leader of Beacon Academy’s Team RWBY to fight against the Grimm and Shinoa being the leader of Shinoa Squad for Demon Moon Company to fight against the vampires)
-Both wield unique scythes that are suited specifically for both users and their fighting styles (Ruby using her custom built sniper scythe Crescent Rose and Shinoa using designated cursed gear Shikama Dōji)
-Both had a close family member disappear under mysterious circumstances (Ruby’s mother Summer leaving for a secret mission she never came back from and Shinoa’s older sister Mahiru going missing after being “killed” during her research)
There’s probably more I’m missing atm but you guys get the idea. Either way, it’s definitely a match I’m fond of as a fan of both series, which both deserve the love, especially given the current state of both of them. Thanks again to Brandon for making this as awesome as I could’ve hoped for and more!
You're a legend, thank you for aiding the Seraph of the end VS fans
Not gonna lie, I haven't watched Seraph of the End in so long that I forgot Shinoa was a scythe user. As soon as I looked at the match-up I went- "Damn, why didn't I think of this sooner?"
This has always been my preferred for Maka; Ruby v Shinoa is a nice alternative, but I think she pairs well with Maka.
Brandon did wonderfully on this track regardless, though. The high-intensity song is nostalgic.
Could you please do lephrechaun vs Chucky
Not even cancellation can stop RWBY fans nor can they stop RWBY commissions on this channel!
Bad Companies, Even Worse CEOs (Blizzard vs Warner Bros)
The execs are the problem. Before scumbags ruined everything, Blizzard and Warner Bros were pretty good. Employee abuse wasn't running rampant, and quality products were created.
Redditor
Multiversus got delayed only to add more micro transactions... Both overwatch and multiversus turned into crap and both were great games before (beta multiversus was almost as fun as smash bros for me)
Well, if we’re on the subject of games:
-Pika-ho! (Pikachu vs Jack Frost)
-This time, It’s PERSONA! (Persona Protag Battle Royale)
-Webs of Shadows (Arkham Batman vs Insomniac Spider-Man)
-Brotherly Hate (Vergil vs Jin Kisaragi)
-Loathsome Copy (Metal Sonic vs Bass)

What is it now, Ruby's 4th solo track and 5th track in general ? She's actually caught up to Yang now, discounting vocal versions. And man, what a track (and track art because damn it looks cool) to catch up on with.
Seriously, I went into that track expecting pretty much nothing (for unknown reasons to me honestly because all of Ruby's solo tracks have been fantastic so far) and I was absolutely flabbergasted with good this track ended up being. It of course catches that usual RWBY flair that other tracks featuring the franchise have but here it's mixed with more classical orchestral anime OST in a relatively similar vein to, say, Touhou stuff which makes it not only more unique but massively catchy and grandiose.
From the very start the track absolutely slaps you in the face with an extremely powerful and catchy start to set the tone and tell you "this is the song, this is the quality you can expect from it, enjoy" and damn I can get behind that. It wastes no time getting to the action and it manages to do the exploit of keeping this consistently high quality throughout 100% of the song and I'm not even exaggerating, I don't have a single tiny segment that I don't like inside this song because of how well it uses every single mechanic and instrument it makes use of.
This is also for this very reason that I won't go over the whole entire song because if I did I'd spend 90% of this comment saying synonyms of "this sounds really good !" so I'll mostly focus on general feelings and a couple select segments of the track that stand out even more than the already great package this song is.
And of course the main thing I want to note on that end is the sheer amount of catchy melodies the song has throughout its duration. There's so many of them that it's to pinpoint exactly which I like the most but if I had a gun to my head I'd likely answer the main melody heard multiple times throughout the song (IE: 2:29-2:59) because it combines everything that makes this song really appreciable: extremely catchy, epic and energetic. This combined with the fact that there's a lot of other similar yet different melodies result in the track feeling extremely dynamic and fluid without feeling redundant or stagnant at any point.
Speaking of which, I also like the few break segments that the track has (IE: 2:03-2:29) that all help a lot making the song more, well, dynamic by giving some intensity variation and also help make the track not feel overwhelming. It gives the song some buildup moments to get across shifts in it and by extension the fight and it conveys well how those two, despite being extremely fast and mobile fighters, are still "human" at the end of the day so they'd need to take breaks, something even more notable as those breaks get more numerous as the song progresses to showcase tiredness in the characters. It's a really nice inclusion both to give the track more personality and to sound better as a whole.
And to follow through on that I want to talk about the ending of track, specifically the final arc it has starting at 3:13. In a way it's a standard finale starting by a break to build up tension and intensity followed by a climactic final segment featured notable melodies from the rest of the song but I especially like how it's done because of how it sounds. It capitalizes perfectly on what I said before about using the song to showcase the characters' state throughout the battle. It starts with a break to signify the characters gathering their strengths for one final clash and takes time to settle in to both create more hype and also to reflect how, by this point in the battle, those two are exhausted from the battle so they have a hard time to get back in the fight.
But they still push through at 3:36 with a burst of power that engages this final segment. A final segment that starts very melodic as the rest of the song but quickly changes at 3:53 in a much more "burst"-like and agressive finale to reflect how those two are reaching their limits so they're throwing everything they have left at one another to try and take the enemy down even if it's more chaotic and less organized than their previous fighting styles. And that until 4:15 where the song finally breaks down to signify the kill shot as one of the characters finally brings down the other in a brutal final attack.
Or so it would be were it not for a comeback at 4:22 in one "last breath" style short finish that showcases a real display of heroism and determination as the character that was just seemingly brought comes back up in one last heroic stand with a final attack to truly finish the battle in an epic ending. Really I can't stress how much I like the addition of that one final short segment. Not only does it sound absolutely amazing but it adds so much to the song by making the characters truly feel heroic and determined as said above with a final stand (something fitting of both as the segment is neutral so it could be a last stand from either character). It's a wonderful conclusion to an already amazing song that makes it stand out even more than it would otherwise.
Overall this track is one that I really expected nothing from but that's massively surprised. I'd say "Brandon didn't have to go as hard as he did" but given it's pretty much his job it'd feel disrespectful so I'll stick to saying that damn he didn't pull any punches with this track. Everything about it just works perfectly to its benefit from its character and series representation to how it sounds in general passing by the depth it features. Really, it's likely recency bias and chances are that it'll lower in my rankings over time but right now this track is among one of my favorite instrumental commissions so far and that's one hell of an accomplishment given the competition around, on its own it made me want to watch/read Seraph Of The End while I didn't care in the slightest about it before (RWBY is still something I'm not ready to get myself into tho) which is to say something about the song's quality. Truly wonderful work with this.
RAGHHHHHHH LETS FUCKING GO RUBY ROSEEEE
Hell yeah! Ruby Rose forever!!!!
An awesome track for a matchup that Ruby actually wins?
As one of the 10 remaining RWBY fans in existence, I approve of this.
Bold of you to assume there's that few fans.
There are still large RWBY fan bases in places like Japan
I would like to propose Margaret Moonlight (No More Heroes 2) as a contender for Ruby to fight

Beautiful song as always, I'm glad Seraph of the end is still at least a bit known.
If you're not aware, Yuichiro has a track too against Eren Yeager that came a few years back. War's End. It was my first commission to Brandon as a test run to see how making these tracks worked.

In case it wasn’t obvious, it’s the mascots of the two most important franchises of the "Monster-collecting game" genre. But whereas Pokemon is the most popular one, Shin Megami Tensei has been around longer than Pokemon and basically codified the whole genre itself. So, basically, it’s the battle of the franchise who popularized the ‘mon-collecting genre versus the franchise who started it all in the first place.

Love the track and the art captures both pretty well
Don't really get the connections here as someone who's seen both series, Shinao and Ruby are too vastly different characters outside of the one connection they have with them having scythes
Next Video : Akame vs Blake Belladonna(Akame Ga Kill vs RWBY)
I wonder who would win ,
This was some interesting and catchy battle music for Ruby Rose and Shinoa Hiragi
The Last Laugh (Joker VS Green Goblin) [DC VS Marvel]
The connections between the Joker and the Green Goblin are that they're both iconic, crazy archnemesis of superheroes (Batman and Spider-Man, respectively). They both gained enhanced physiques via chemical accidents (Joker can take a lot of punishment since he fell into a chemical vat, and Green Goblin became stronger and tougher thanks to the chemical he made to make soldiers, respectively), took on the appearances of green and purple figures of folklore (a clown and a goblin, respectively), and possess an arsenal of themed weapons. They've had a dysfunctional relationship with a woman, turning against them (Harley Quinn and Emily Lyman, respectively), and had a son who became a villain himself (Anarky and Harry, respectively). They were also part of supervillain teams (Joker's in the Legion of Doom and Injustice League, and Green Goblin in the Sinister Six and the Dark Avengers, respectively) to take down a team of the greatest heroes in their universe (Justice League and Avengers, respectively).
Natural selection,
And best for both.

Force of Will
(Saruman the White versus Count Dooku) [Lord of the Rings versus Star Wars]
Isengard theme and Imperial March for the first half, Mount Doom theme and Duel of the Fates for the second half.
What about two versions with slightly different names, to show the opposite sides of the story? Something like this:
Evil Force of Will: Saruman the White Vs. Count Dooku
Heroic Force of Will: Gandalf the White Vs. Yoda
For this one, i'm not sure of what could be the music, but maybe including Khazad-Dum, as it's one of Gandalf's most iconic moments.
Nice work Brandon and I’m sorry to hear about the death battle tracks😔 I’ll still support you and Therewolf no matter what😌
Fairly OddPotter! (Harry Potter VS Timmy Turner) [Wizarding World VS Nickelodeon]
The connections between Harry Potter VS Timmy Turner are that they both come from poor lives with neglectful guardians (Vernon and Petunia, and Mr. and Mrs. Turner) and a harassing teenager (Dudley Dursley and Vicky), until a faithful day when they were given magic (Harry learns that he's a wizard and Timmy gets fairy godparents) and had all sorts of adventures. They're close to a couple of magic users they met on their first day (Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and Cosmo and Wanda), and confronted their evil teachers (Severus Snape, Dolores Umbridge and Denzel Crocker).
YOu have to buy commissions from Yates I don't think he looks through comments

Destroying at it finest ( bog vs Betty)
so... anyone knows what feat Shinoa have in the Manga and Light Novels?
I don't know much about SotE, but I don't have high hopes for Ruby. I WANT her to win, but compared to most other scythe wielders, she comes up short in one way or the other, which sucks because she's one of my favorite characters.
Shinoa actually loses here
The best you can scale her to his small town and High Hypersonic
While Ruby breaches those tiers in her current arcs reaching Town-small city with Massive Hypersonic to Faster than Light scaling
Wonder how the Silver Eyes would work here given their a boon from the God of Light and Shinoa’s powers come from her scythe, which contains a demon, the most powerful of her setting.
SPOILERS
Said demon is actually SotE’s equivalent to Satan as well as THE Progenitor of vampirekind.
@@pablotomasllodra4423 Well, Silver Eyes are effective weapons against Grimm, which are creatures created by the Brother God of Darkness to destroy anything created by the Brother God of Light, including their collaborative creation of humans.
@@sailordarty9032 Well, i don't remember her name, but the old lady that also had Silver Eyes, if i recall correctly (if you don't ubicate her, she's the one that appears after Team RWBY defeat the Ace Ops), tells Ruby that this ability basically harms anything that comes from darkness, as the Grimm, but she never specifies that it's a only-Grimm effective ability, so, demons are already dark creatures, and if Shinoa's one is the Satan of SotE, that would make him the equivalent of RWBY's God of Darkness.
Also, it's been shown that the Silver Eyes might not be lethal to anyone that is not from the dark, but the shining light leaves everyone completely blind for a short time, and an opening in your enemy's guard is something that no one should let pass.
@@JuanGonzalez-jq1ph Maria Calavera, and I forgot about that. Also, she doesn't appear after, but long before RWBY defeat the Ace-Ops. She does fight for the first time after that, though.

Yo another Ruby MU and another banger Song! Nice
Dont know who the other one is though but given RWBYs history with matchups im fully prepared for the possibility that a RWBY character dies again
She's from a series called Seraph of the End. It's about young kids fighting against vampires in a post-apocalyptic world.
Also, that's rather bold of you to assume as the RWBY characters win some of their fights in these match-ups. I don't remember much about Shinoa from the anime and I haven't read the manga after the anime ended. However, while she'll likely lose to Neptune, I could argue for her winning against both Gon and Maka.
