  • Jeanette Rankin was sworn in to the US House of Representatives on April 2, 1917. The first women in Congress, she arrived just in time for the pivotal vote on America's entry to World War I.
In 2017, Matt Wasniewski and Kathleen Johnson, Historian and Oral History Manager of the US House of Representatives respectively, set out to commemorate the centennial of Rankin's achievement. What began as a small effort morphed into a massive oral history project encompassing interviews with 50+ congresswomen and their families who followed in Rankin's footsteps.
On Monday, September 25, join us as THNOC hosts Wasniewski and Johnson for an exciting discussion about these incredible women and how they transformed American politics.
Admission is free! RSVP required: www.hnoc.org/c...
