  • 🦊 In this GCSE Biology video, we explain the significance of the fossil record, which provides evidence of the history of life on Earth, dating back to early marine organisms and progressing to more complex forms. Scientists estimate the age of fossils based on the layers of rock in which they are found, helping to understand evolutionary processes and relationships between organisms. The fossil record also aids in studying extinction events, such as the one that wiped out the dinosaurs, and tracking the evolution of species over time, like the transformation of horses from small, multi-toed ancestors to larger, single-hoofed modern forms.
