I was yelling at the screen for him to apologize to her (she said that Clay had told her things that she was never aware of.) But listening to that discussion I think I understood clay’s fear & no “I Do” more. His Mother is so calm, loving and WISE.

Whenever he spoke about AD he pointed out how she challenged him and made him grow. That sounds nice, but having been in several relationships where I was the trial run, now I know if that's the only thing you see your partner as then that's a huge red flag.

That said, it's one of those brutal learning curves for AD, we've all been the one who wants to 'fix' our partner, and it never ends well, so I hope AD can learn and find someone way better suited for her, Clay was never ready.

Then has the nerve to throw stuff in Jimmy's face but gets upset and cries when Jimmy does the same thing. Jimmy obviously isn't perfect or even close, but I respect him for being able to put up with the emotional rollercoaster that is Chelsea.
AD just wanted to be married. Clay was just suitable enough and she was willing to settle. Clay did her a favour, I hope she sticks to her word and not date him, because Clay clearly only has a physical attraction to her. The comment about her finances to me means he does not see her as an equal.

This is a hard truth but it is THE TRUTH, because there were so many moments where she looked outright shocked and straight up disgusted by the things he would say but STILL made the decision to walk down that aisle.

When the officiant was asking AD whether she takes Clay to be her husband, Clay looked her in the eyes and smiled while nodding reassuringly. When she said "I do" he beamed so huge. It makes so much sense that she was completely blindsided by him saying no because he was giving every indication with his body language that he would say yes. He truly paid 0 attention to what AD was telling him, which was that she would not accept less than an "I do." He literally said he "didn't understand the magnitude of the decision." He was not willing to think about what AD wanted or needed because she had put so much effort into helping him through what he needed. Because he wanted to just keep dating, he assumed that would be an option despite being told outright it was not. He was 100% accurate that he was not ready for marriage, but he didn't think that was a big deal or something he needed to share with the person wanting to marry him.
He was sure she was gonna go back on her words for him and chase him, he probably thought he had her warped around his fingers when she said “I do”, he probably took it as a sign that she was gonna be Bob the builder him still, it highlighted that he was testing how much he could get away with with just words alone.
He just wants to date his therapist. Take take take like his foolish dad.
You nailed it! I want so badly to like Clay because he has moments where it looks like he is coming to his senses but they come to nothing. What a terrible way to move in a relationship. He really just loved the validation of her saying yes. He could have asked to go first as soon as he realised he was going to reject her to save her that bit of trauma but he just couldn't help letting himself hear her praise him and say she wanted to spend her life with him. Him even saying he didn't realise the magnitude of his decision and saying he feels stupid just goes to show her words meant nothing to him. No empathy, no accountability. Just gross.
I disagree. I could very clearly See AD was going to say yes, she was happy and giddy the whole time. Ckay in the other hand looked miserable and guilty. I saw immediately he was going to say no

Clay and his father are both the type of people who say the right thing without actually having the emotional understanding behind what they’re saying. This is manipulation whether they realize it or not. You can tell his mom is different; she doesn’t just say words, she means them.
that conversation between clays parents was the most SHOOK I HAVE BEEN her grace and strength while putting him in his place. i feel so hard for clay’s mom. sucks clay’s dad can’t accept his faults and provide his son with closure as momma said.

When he started crying his crocodile tears and the impassive look on her face that read, "this b*tch*. I cheered out loud for her.
I think his final straw was more so that she focuses on other couples and their strength and she is very insecure about their relationship. He was just like, I can't do this. It was so odd that she was so caught up on that argument too. It was how she HANDLED herself during, the idea around the argument, how drunk she was, the broken trust and how he felt like he could never tell her anything again, and then the moments afterwards. Chelsea needs help and I don't want to see her at the reunion saying how it was 50/50 and the girls backing her up. She needs to take accountability for her actions.

Why did Clay go on a show that ends with marriage if he knew he wasn’t ready? I have a hard time believing you go in and then figure out you aren’t ready. And his mom is partially wrong, just because he went on this shoe does not mean he currently wants a long term meaningful relationship. Maybe it was a business move on his part.

It broke my heart to see AD continually blaming herself for “not being good enough” when Clay has shown time and time again that he was so unserious about all of this. Clay didn’t seem to see her as anything other than another mom for him, he wanted to be nurtured and cared for but wasn’t ready for any commitment. He constantly talked about how he didn’t go to therapy when that’s something he could’ve done at any point of his adult years as someone who’s 30. It was red flag after red flag and I hope watching this back helps AD realize that. But I’m happy for Amy and Johnny 😅
I hope AD seeks real therapy. She does the same things expecting different results. I feel not having a good relationship with her dad causes her to want to be enough for someone else.
I know! She's so fine too yet so insecure at times. A little in love with love but a lot of women are. I think that's why so many marriages end in divorce tho. Women want a wedding not a husband.
I hope she reviews this season like it's game day footage. I used to be like her where a man would clearly tell me what he was about but due to a combination of many things, would ignore it and basically try to be the perfect girlfriend. Hoping he'd eventually find me worthy of being his wife.
The way Chelsea's tone escalates to hysterical so quickly gives me genuine anxiety. I've been involved with people like that who go from 0 to 100 within a few seconds and it's a horrible experience. Jimmy hasn't done much right as a fiancee, I'm not denying that, but Chelsea seems absolutely exhausting.
She gets anxious and overwhelmed easily and shuts down anything the other person says and tries to manipulate them to get them to agree with her. I see a lot of signs pointing to a specific personality disorder but I cannot say it.

Well he did say that to her. He said that he had work to do and wants to go to therapy and wants to fight for her but as it stands he wasn’t 100% about the decision.

Jonny and Amy are good and fun couple but got outshined by the trash, toxic, and manipulating personalities this season.

The only orange flag I see with them is how they handle money. Johnny demonstrated he has a lot of financial anxiety. Though Amy grew up with similar financial hardships, she doesn't seem to share the anxiety or financial goals Johnny does.
Both ways aren't wrong but if they don't figure that out it is going to cause huge issues later on.

When Clay's friend asked him about his decision to get married, everything he said was about what AD did for him and how she was adding to his life, nothing about what he was bringing to her and how he wanted to make her happy. If he truly cared about her he would tell her before they were AT THE ALTAR, and failing that if he really cared he wouldn't have let her say "I do", he would have jumped in first to stop it.
He wanted to hear her say I do because he wanted her to validate him once again and make him feel special and loved, it was entirely about his feelings as always and never about hers.
Y'all... I was literally sobbing the entire Amy/Johnny wedding😭 Her dad is the purest soul, and the blending of their families was so beautiful to watch! Hoping for nothing but happiness for them.

I found it hard to watch Clay throughout the season. He really gives me the creeps.
Me too he was never interested in her in my opinion and only made excuses to frighten her which didn’t work.
To be frank, I struggled to watch both of them. Clay seemed unserious, while she appeared to be trying too hard. And when in the company of other game show contestants, she acted as if their relationship was strong. AD subtly influenced Kenneth and interfered in the dynamic involving Sarah Ann, Jeramey, and the other woman (whose name I can’t recall).
Did anyone else catch when Clay said he wasnt IN LOVE with AD??? I was waiting for him to bring that up to her cuz he swore up n down in her face bout how much he loved her!

Chelsea and Jimmy needed to breakup. I do sympathize with Chelsea though because it was obvious Jimmy was never really interested. I agree with Clay that it wouldn’t be responsible for them to get married. They most likely would’ve broken up anyway and he wasn’t good for her. But I don’t agree with breaking the news at the alter.
If he wanted to continue his relationship with AD, he should’ve had a conversation with her before she even put on that wedding dress. Even if he didn’t want to keep dating, it’s cruel to get someone’s hopes up like that and have their family show up for a wedding you know isn’t going to happen.
AD said she didn’t come there for a long-term engagement, so maybe he was scared of getting rejected. But I honestly don’t know how he was expecting that to go. She’s definitely not going to want you after you hurt her like that.
His reasoning was a total cop out as well. He wasn’t ready, period. AD’s finances were something they could’ve worked out together if he was really concerned about it but genuinely wanted to be with her.
They did have a conversation and AD was very explicit that she wouldn't date Clay if he said no at the altar and that she was on the show for the complete experience. I don't think Clay believed that she wouldn't date him afterwards. I'm hoping that she doesn't go back on what she said and we see them together at the reunion. Hearing a man say to you that he is worried about cheating on you is a massive red flag. Clay definitely needs therapy and at least he recognises he has to work on himself. But not to the detriment of AD by continuing their relationship. :)

Chelsea definitely isn’t perfect and neither is Jimmy. He didn’t like her from the start, so I don’t believe him that regard, but I do believe he tried. However, it’s very telling how Jimmy did everything in his power to basically protect his ex and I would be uncomfortable with him constantly talking to her too. Like being casual friends, sure, but there is a line of respect within relationships. Also I feel like their final conversation was definitely edited in a certain way. Idk some things just felt left out of the final edit. Those two were just not right for each other, so thank god they ended it but I feel like some shit is just missing

Did anyone notice Clay say Marraige is a business deal?! Like whaaat?! I mean, I get it, I view it that way too especially with finances and children but that's why I don't want to get married. My guy came on a whole show centered around it. Yes, he was broken, and YES, in theory, what he was saying was true: don't go in if you're not 100, he'd have been a bad husband, and he needs to work on himself, but he never respected AD. He never gave her the chance because he was never there. AD didn't even respect herself enough to read the signs in my opinion and she deserves to be loved and not terrified to be cheated on. Clay ALWAYS knew he was going to say no to whichever woman was standing up there.
Which is NOT what Jimmy was like. He did not always know that. And he TOLD Chelsea straight that he wanted to leave after that argument, but she begged him (it was embarrassing, really). She kept lying that they were great communicators. And then he realised after trying once more it would never work and respected her enough to let her not get to the altar. He said I don't need this anymore. And he handled the situation AMAZING. Laid out the exact reasons, questioned her bullshit ("like what?" and her SILENCE!) then said he was done and reaffirmed his choice.

The rudest thing that really rubbed me the wrong was was how many times did Jimmy start talking during and argument, with Chelsea to IMMEDIATELY backfire with, "I'M NOT DONE TALKING" and he stopped so she could continue, yet when he does it she doesn't give him the same respect. She's honestly such a joke of a human being, and Jimmy was way too polite and gave her too much grace in that relationship. He deserves someone way better.

I think Clay was right to reveal how important looks are for him. That way he showed exactly where he was and the woman has all the facts when making a choice. Better that than someone like Jimmy who tried to say and do all the right things. He would have been better served to just admit he wasn't ready to be a father to a 10 year old and he really wasn't that attracted to Chelsea. I think love CAN rise above physical attributes and perhaps if Jimmy and Chelsea hadn't had so many other issues he could have become attracted to her as he grew to love her. But a pair comprising a woman who needs validation 24/7 and a man whose energies were focused on repressing all his true feelings -- that couldn't last
