National Geographic with Mike Farrell The Lonely Dorymen

This episode of National Geographic specials in which the MC was Mike Farrell (B. J. Honeycutt of M*A*S*H fame) aired on the CBC in Newfoundland in 1992. It is an abbreviated version of a 1967 National Geographic special by the same name which can also be seen on UA-cam ( • Video ). Amazingly, there was also a Land and Sea episode on CBC Newfoundland at about this time ( • Land & Sea: The Portug... ) which also was based on earlier CBC Newfoundland footage shot in 1967 by John O'Brien and narrated by Angelo da Silva. The coincidence led me to suspect that either National Geographic or the CBC was using the footage shot by the other organisation without crediting it. But closer examination seems to indicate that the two episodes shot in 1967 were completely independent of one other.
