I challenge anyone, with even the slightest knowledge of RC Slope Soaring, to watch this and not smile! And we all need something to smile about right now! Fantastic! Thank you John and Caroline.
The pirouettes we're almost piviots! Lolol I don't believe I have ever witnessed a plane do them so tight! John, you were enjoying that very, very much! I did as well! Thank you for sharing! I hope the onboard video happens more often, it was quite a unique viewpoint!
Great air-to-air footage of your flying neighbors! Including the crash…seeing the cliffs where you are standing even better makes me appreciate your beautiful site even more!
What a Champ! I'm very happy to see the Bee back in action. It's unique flight characteristics really let it shine on the slopes. You seem to have a load of fun exploiting those abilities. The air to air images were fun to watch as well. Another spectacular video sir. Thank you for sharing your adventure.
@@SlopeRCGliders Thanks John, you are a brave man!! Actually it was just after the major storms and was still inclement, also wind was from the SW. But I feel even more connected now. All the best C
Well done John. I couldn't believe it when you just let the wing tip go and it was hovering and away it went. Those turns and loops were low and awesome 👍
Hi John and Mrs W, that was some of the most awesome footage I've seen in a very long time!! The most thrilling for me was when you were apparently chasing the shadow of the Lazy Bee along the grass topped Cliff and edges, then just turning away into a loop or a very tight turn without even dropping a wing 👏👏 what a fantastic video which had me smiling all the way through, Thank you both so much for brightening the winter up for me, and everyone of course, the amount of rudder movement is amazing as well. Thanks again from a very grateful Alan in Sheffield, stay safe and well, regards Alan 😊😊😊😊😊😊❤
Your videos have largely inspired me to get back into slope soaring after a 20 year sabbatical by scratch building a Gentle Lady. Thank you so much for your very professional and inspirational videos
The most technically interesting video yet! Maximum(?) elevator and rudder deflection at the same time just produces a very tight turn - not a death spiral. Rewrites the rules of glider design? Fearless flying too. Cheered me up - the day after a massive British Gas price rise. Maybe life is worth living.
Never has a design been more appropriately named “Lazy Bee.” I have an unexplainable fondness for this living and flying cartoon. I first fell for odd & silly craft as a gas-powered model that morphed to electric-powered, but leave it to you, John, to turn our ‘Silly Bee” into an (almost) graceful floating damsel in the air. She performs unbelievable turns and loops practically within her own length with hidden energy!! She Is the Margaret Rutherford of model gliders, I dub thee, Dane Lazy Bee! Thank you, again You manage to keep me smiling; no small task these days. John Woodfield and Company
Beautiful plane, and flying. But what really caught my eye is that wall... I wonder how many curse words were used per feet on the steep part when they built it.
So.... Launch, skim along at 2 inches then immediately pull into a loop???? What sort of example is that to set for the kids? :) Excellent flying and photography as always.
@@teretz571I'm pretty certain that wcolby was making a joke. Insinuating that the plane's maneuverability could stand to be improved. When it can already, very clearly, outmaneuver everything else on the hill. Years ago I heard somebody explain that Mr. Clancy designed the Lazy Bee with such a short fuselage out of necessity. It was the only way he could keep it from flying into it's own tail.
Have a look on the Outerzone website. They have the plans in several sizes, all free to download. It is originally a powered aircraft but I built it as a glider. Good luck with the build. If you can’t find the plans, let me know and I’ll send you a link.
Thank you! I built mine from free plans download off the Outerzone website. I had to change the nose design slightly to turn it into a glider. I think it’s possible to buy a smaller version as a kit somewhere.
wonderful John! onboardfootage makes me looking forward to beeing a gliderpilot soon. Amazing stable image - is it the regular gopro imagestabilization?
Thank you. I was using an old GoPro 4 which has image stabilisation. Unfortunately it won’t record in 4k with the stabilisation turned on. The newer models have even better stabilisation and will also record in 4k or with higher frame rates.

I use to slope soar long time ago , but have lost the nerve of just tossing my pride and joys off a cliff now just sand dunes, great vid 🤙🤙

Congratulations Sir. You may have just added a new word to the model aviation vernacular. I think I'm going to be practicing my piviots this weekend.
John that is really cool. I everyone will get to see more videos like this! GOD bless you and your family!!
Thank you Toby.

Beautiful. Also, nice views of the 'slopes' and the sea, from the Bee. Again, 👏🙌👏 for the cutter as well.
Nice aerial perspectives. Amazing how tight of circles the Lazy Bee can turn. Quite the yaw authority.
I visited the UK four days ago and could not but help seek out this wonderful site! Had nothing to fly, but it was like a pilgrimage! Thanks John
Thanks Charles. I was away for a few days myself, but had I been there you could have flown some of my gliders.

Mind you, seventeen quid for two fish and chips downtown!!!!!!
First time I did not find onboard footage boring!
Great flying, beautifull scenery, as allways, thanks!
I need to build myself one of these! That Lazy Bee gets the job done!
Floaty McBeeface...awesome as always

Thank you. It does fly great!
John, your videos are really relaxing and inspiring! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you.

wonderful.
never get tired of the lazy bee footy!

Thank you! I’ve had a couple of electric Bees but it’s a blast to fly as a glider.
You look so happy~!

Lovely video, great camera angles and filming and wonderful flying!!
Thanks for the brilliant content.

Fantastic as ever the onboard footage allows us to see why you like that spot so well. 👍
Thank you.
0:31 - That turquoise coloured sea is quite something.
Here the sea is like lead.
With rain.
Very cool John! Enjoyed the GoPro. 😎👍🛩

Great footage! Thank you!!
Beautiful ! But You need more aileron throw on that lazy bee 😃
does not have ailerons its rudder and elevator

WAAAW prachtig 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Awesome. Makes me want to dust off my electric Lazy Bee.
Good mix of viewpoints
This one is always a joy to watch. The camera on the plane!!! Is it just pitch and yaw? Two channel?
Yup, just two channel.
I like the videos with the camera mounted on the glider.
Wonderful!
Bravo boys! 🇸🇮❤️❤️❤️
Nice John. Lazy Bee's are awesome. I have a Big LB with a 4 stroke. What kind of camera are you using on the plane?
It’s just an old GoPro 4 but it still takes nice footage.
the music was perfect
Incredible, I would like to build it in depron, please plans. Thanks.

How long was build ? Just out of interest thanks. Safe flights
I think it took me about a week to make but I do tend to build quite fast.
SWEET....
I realy want to see the plane flying with light led's when the sun comes down
Cheers!
