Exactly right. I recently retired after having worked and saved up all my life. Now that I have money I am told, I need to give it up for “generational fairness.” Is not leaving an inheritance to my children generational fairness? Having it taxed away by government to waste is sickening. I have already paid my “fair share” along the way as I made the money I’ve saved up.

After my Dad died ( 1999), my Mum had his name legally removed from the deed to the house, and had me legally added as a 'joint tenant' so I would NOT be hit with capital gains taxes, on the property, on her death ( which happened in 2007). Maybe you should look into that with your kids ? There has to still be a legal way around this GROSS 'capital gains tax' grab / monstrosity !!

As someone in healthcare who will be hurt by these tax changes, if Trudeau really believes in fairness, then penalize federal workers in a similar fashion. They enjoy having pensions that are highly subsidized by our taxes.
Their pensions are defined benifits and indexed to inflation. I don’t know any place in the private sector that has that.

We are both born and raised in Canada and have several generations behind us . We farmed for 40 years(not inherited),my wife worked as a nurse for 20 of that to help pay the bills . We did without so many but didn’t feel hard done by. It was what you did to keep things in the black. We finally paid off all our land loans and in a few years retired. We have accumulated some savings and have managed our investments well. Now we are told we need to pay more ! This government can waste more tax dollars in one minute than we earned in a lifetime! We don’t mind paying taxes but we have no say as to where it is spent. If this joke government gets in again,we are leaving Canada and taking any money left with us .

I remember years ago when friends graduated from nursing here in Canada, US hospitals were bidding for their services. Many of the people I know made the decision to move to the US for better money, better working conditions and more advanced treatments (equipment).
I live in Vancouver and my friends son graduated medical school in Carribean because it was a great education for less tuition than Canada, and he's a doctor now in Bellingham that's a border city on the the US Canada border near Vancouver, so the family is still all liviing close together but he makes way more as a doctor in the US than in Canada...5km away

We know three doctors that have already quit because they are fed up.
Doctors appear to have a 0 value to our politicians. In ontario Bob Rae reduced their income by 16.6%. (2 months pay) This led to doctor's fleeing Canada. Since then the government has not given them an increase matching inflation. There is no business model to be a family doctor in ontario. A doctor in ontario does 10 to 15 hours of free work each week. Their costs are increasing year for year. The numbers claimed that doctor's earn is the sum doctor's receive prior to costs such as rent, personal, heating, IT supplies and support, medical supplies, office supplies, college fees, mal practice insurance... One reason given for the doctors pay decreases is the doctors policies regarding immigration. Due to high immigration levels and the associated medical costs for the immigrants, no money is left for the doctors. Doctors are the only group of people banned per law in ontario to strike. The government also forces per law the doctors to pay an organization to negotiate their annual pay decreases. We are approaching 30 years of annual pay decreases for family doctors. Question for politicians: Why do we have a family doctor shortage in ontario? ( I wonder how many politicians will recognize the source of the problem.)
The governments in each province should cover a large portion of their overhead. That would be a pay raise in essence.
There are several groups of people besides doctors who cannot strike. They are called essential workers: police,firefighters to just name 2 other than doctors
Large numbers of doctors left Canada due to the forced Covid vaccines ; and many more took an early retirement. Same with the nurses. This is why we are now in a crisis !
Capital gains rates should have been reduced, after a given amount of time investments should be subjected to zero capital gains tax. Government should try to build wealth of its citizens.

Due to work, I had to move for work and decided to keep the house and rent wherever I worked.
That house is the only property I own, if I sell it I have to pay capital gains tax on the only property I own.

My Doc, who just retired, when I asked him about this, said his practice was worthless, as there are no new Doc's willing or interested in paying for his patients. Other professionals might be more concerned
As an Oral Surgeon, ( dentist) because of this increase in Capital Gains tax raping my retirement savings by8-9% , I will NEVER be participating in the Federal Canada Dental Plan. I don’t want their dirty money that they’ll just take back anyway. I’ll just put my present fees up to compensate for their actions.

My wife’s amazing doctor (for 18 years) packed up and moved her medical practice to the US last September because of the insane policies of the Trudeau government.
We live in the Greater Toronto Area, and my wife has NOT been able to find a decent qualified new Doctor yet… the ones accepting new patients are not well qualified and have thick accents because English is not their first language. She’s really upset …

He cannot axe something that hasn't yet been accepted by Parliament! I am sure it will get axed once he is Prime Minister!
He's not going to get into a debate over this right now because the Liberals would love that to deflect from the carbon tax debate. He has a plan and if this becomes law he will unveil it.
@josephmeier5440 Its not going in front of parliament. Its being implemented by a seperate non vote claus these cockroach politicians can use against taxpayers and their rights.
