Guy is told bike doesn't run. Drives 3 hours with no trailer. Plans to ride it home. I'd say it's the guys responsibility yet you hauled it for free. That's great customer service.
*this (MC) purchase should have been ready to go before its presentation.. the sale went on because the costumer was desperate...
@@DTO.. the guy saw it in the background of another vehicle. He was told it wasnt ready, but he still wanted it as is.
Shit he paid 4800 for a hike that don't start. Hauling don't cost homie nothing🤣 he didn't want that bike coming back🤣
KBBF3 I wouldn’t trust driving that bike around the block. Hot mess
You don’t “ drive “ a bike you RIDE a bike gawd
Pro Tip: when a mechanic sells his bike which doesn't run, then that's a bad sign.
I bought a bike that didn't run from a coworker in 2007. I still have it today. 96k miles on the clock and counting.
It only needs better battery and starter.
i was thinking the same thing. a mechanic put $20k into this bike, it doesnt run, and he sold it for 3k to b&b? sounds sketchy to me
@@YoungJay5597 most times the mechanic won't work to much on his own things and just is tired of it. I did bought a car before 1/4 of the normal price becouse it was broken and he did not care and did not know what was wrong. When I was a senior in highschool me and two buddies rode our scooters(two zuma 125’s and a zuma 50) about 1,000 miles over spring break through Oregon and wa state. Greatest trip of my life so far

That sounds like it must of been an epic trip.🤙
Way cool brother rode a 78 Yamaha dt175 200mi to see my grandpa once it was really fun
First thing I noticed about the guy trying to bump-start it...
He is throwing it into first. This is something you NEVER do.
Bump it in second.... Also as another tip, have it in second and have the clutch held, when you are running it, and then just let go of the clutch.
Its easy as pie - its something I have had to do many times over the years.
I’m with you but I will say the clutch ads drag so if you are quick you can kick it into second and hop your ass in the seat at the same time. You will never get it to start in first period.
I had a bad starter in my beemer for a year before I had it rebuilt. Lol second gear and downhill when ever possible.
That's what I like riding old bikes pans flatheads Knuckles shovels even a shity little iron if it's got a kick start then I ain't got to worry about looking like a dummy when I got to push start it hahaha one time my ex was tweaking and she wanted to steal my bike it was a 72 Shovelhead she went to kick start it but through her over the handlebars hahaha
Why second and not first?

3 years later and I'm still obsessed with this bike.
Seems like a great buy and the price was right!!
That bike shouldn't be sold to anyone who doesn't know what they're doing.
Nobody who knows what they're doing should buy that bike.
Maybe if they _really_ know what they're doing? Like, putting decompression valves on it...

Why not check if the battery is actually dead with a multimeter?! And why was he trying to push start it in first?! I'm no expert, but these guys seem like they have no idea how to diagnose and fix a problem.
Yea, I was kind of wondering that too. They needed to jump a van to the bike, why don't they have a high amp charger to use to start things?
Multimeter wont tell you if the battery is good. You need to load test it.
Hipsters, should answer all your question as to why did they do that.
@@biaggiwins it will. Discharged batteries have less Volts aswell. Also when it finally runs you can check the alternator if the battery even gets charged.
@@rhythmandmoose a multimeter WILL NOT tell you the condition of battery. You can have a battery that reads 12.5v and be complete junk. Amps are needed to start a vehicle, not volts. They also said it had a lithium battery which may not have a BMS, battery management system, which is needed to balance the cells.
I took my 2006 Klx250 from Texas all around New Mexico, then to Colorado. In November. Doubled up blue jeans and my heaviest coat. Learned what actual gear was later. Rode 21 hours straight. Was pure fun. Ran out of gas 5 times. New Mexico doesn't sell gas. Spent a week in Colorado. Rode home. Reached 14,000 altitude on a bike tuned for 800 - sea level. Good times. Hang lose out there
The parts are worth almost that ... if I went to pick up a bike and the staff were trying to push start it , I'd let them ....until they gave up and then I'd laugh at them and leave

Paul Sickleville double d. Like tit size
I also would have checked the switching contacts for burning and pitting. If it needs that much current to turn it over, that's hard on the contacts.
Couple of thoughts:
1 Next time you're trying to bump-start a bike with a known history of not running for a significant time and/or knows for being a fussy cold-starting bike, spray a generous blast of ether (quick-start) into air intake. Works almost every time.
2 I guess this bobber has an aftermarket engine (Victory? Harmon?) with seriously high compression and/or displacement which demands major CCAs (cold cranking amps) at start-up. If this was MY bike I would run 2 batteries on it, in series. Way more reliability. (Obviously they won't both fit under the seat. I'd find a really cool, creative spot for the 2nd batt.)
Hey you seem to know your stuff so let me ask you. When you jump start the bike do you pop it into 1st gear or 2nd gear?
4 hrs on that and you'll be pissin blood.
HAHaha 4hrs That's fuckall.....
was thinking the same, provided it starts to begin with
And that's just the push starting.
Why is that?

$4800 they should have at least changed the starter and gave him a battery. $1800 profit they could’ve spared a couple of parts and labor to make sure a fan and customer made it home safely.
And put a stater on it cause the dumb ass jump started it with a running vehicle and fried the charging system.
WHATS YOURSOC not sure what kind of business model that is but I assure you it’s only used by shady businesses. Anytime you’re spending YOUR MONEY, it should be implied that you get good service with a reasonable expectation that your product is backed by some sort of guarantee that it won’t fail prematurely. Not sure who you’ve been dealing with but you need to protect your dollars. And, if you treat your customers like that shame on you.
@WHATS YOURSOC Dude, stick to one thought for just a second, that was impossible to read. Not trying to be hateful but from what I saw here they hosed this poor guy.
Being a vehicle dealer is a brutal racket. This looked pretty heartless but I could be wrong. They needed to at least warranty the entire ignition system which is very suspect.

I think these guys are normal people who had enough of dealership’s bullllllshit throughout the years and scroungy/sceevy tactics and opened their own place. The proof is in the customers, if you have great service/great people, you advertise for them anything I’ve personally read that was less than stellar, these guys went above and beyond makin things right. My craziest trip on a motorcycle was when I took 3 points of acid. The trip went for 4 1/2 days, and I'm told I only got to my mailbox.

Only got to the mail box physically, mentally tho…
I understand.
Good Acid..
A 4 day trip would make me go mentally insane, had a trip that lasted nearly 24 hours and I wasn’t a huge fan
So you want to know about craziest motorcycle trip?
I went 1.5 hours approx 120 miles round trip on a bike with a bad stator. Jumped it at the Army recruiters office and had to fill up half way home. Had to jump again at the gas station luckily someone had cables. It was cold 35-40 degrees and raining most of the way. Was dark by the time I made it home.
I remember seeing this video when it first came out. One thing I can say is you guys have always taken care of your customers. Given you sell used motorcycles. There may be problems that nobody can physically ever see or know about that just pops up out of the blue. But you guys will go above and beyond to make sure that’s fixed and taken care of for your customer because you still put the customer first. That is if you ever sell motorcycles again.
The first long trip on a bike I can remember: I was 8 years old and my dad wanted to go to Virginia. Mom said "Take the van." Pops said "Nope, taking the bike." Now to fare my dad and his buddies rode BMWs. Not the most hard core guys in the world. We lived just south of Daytona at the time. We get to Jacksonville and Im getting sleepy. As we cross the Saint Matthews bridge, I'm nodding off, my dad catches me just before I fall off the bike!! He pulls over, bungies me to the back rest for the rest of the trip!!!! Love all the East coast trips!
Made my day, when my son was 7 id take him around town,no problem he loved it,went camping don pedro, decided to take my son with me on way home, about 30 minutes into the ride,I realized that he kept hitting me in the hack with his head, carefully I turned around to see why he was bumping my back, his eyes were closed and he started sliding to the side, scared the shit out of me,stopped had to wake him up so I could bungee cord him on,had a great ride home and he had a good nap, glad to see I'm not the only one to do this, bad parenting,I think not ,have some good rides my friend
Craziest trip: I lived in German for a few years for work and me and three buddies decided to take an Epic trip before we all left. Rode from southern Germany to France, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy and Slovenia. We hit a bunch of mountain passes on the trip that were just hairpin on hairpin on hairpin (including the stelvio pass). I was on a Yamaha FZ6 and wore through my rear tire within the first few days on the passes. My buddy on a Triumph Sprint broke his exhaust from a big random rock on the road that he narrowly avoided. My other buddy on a Honda ST1100 came out to flat tire one morning and his exhaust started falling apart, which we temp fixed with beer cans and zip ties. And finally the last guy who was on a Yamaha R1, the tail of his bike caught on fire at the very end of the trip burning up some of his clothes, an iPad, and melting the whole tail of his bike. But he was uninjured. Mountain passes, Alpine coasters, sights I'll probably never see again made this is a once in a lifetime trip. All in all, even with the mechanical failures it was the best trip.
My longest trip was on a 650 cc V-Star from St. Petersburg, Florida to Chassell, Michigan and back. 1300 miles x 2!
Ass of steel, good god
High performance starters are the mainstay & a must on hi comp
Engines!
When starting a bike by pushing and popping the clutch, remember to put the bike in 2nd gear, not 1st if the bike allows you to do so. It greatly reduces the engine's resistance. Remember to put some Sea Foam or other fuel preservative and run it around to get it good and blended before fall sets in when people tend to ride far less through the winter. Make sure you ride it enough to work the Sea Foam through the whole fuel system and it will greatly reduce issues with the carburetor or fuel injectors.

Boy, I'm late to the party. Craziest trip? In 2014 I left San Antonio on a 2003 F650GS Dakar, looped it up to Sault Saint Marie, rode up the Dalton & back down to Homer, and ran down to Peru. Got lost in the the Andes, laid it down more than once, crossed a few rivers, got hung up at a few borders, changed a few tires and chains, made some friends, and dealt with the trauma I'd been through. 8 months, 30,000 miles, and 2 broken metacarpals later, I flew home from Lima. Bike never left, which I regret to this day.
.Face it dude, you're dealing with a ''REAL BIKER''. Not A suit in leathers an cut. One more thing, there is no way in hell he'll get 80 miles to the tank. I own a 51 pan-shovel , 3 1/2 gal king tank, and I only get 52 miles to the tank.
This is why guys used to build choppers with smaller powerplants, like the ironhead. Adding power isn't the point...stripping off weight and making it more reliable is supposed to be the point. The point of a kick-only bike is to eliminate the battery, and cutting back the pipes and fenders was to cut weight. That's what makes it quick, adding power adds weight and instability.
Yes yes great perspective
got my motorcycle license back in 1990 & within 15 minutes of getting it, myself & 3 other buddies on bikes went on a road trip from Canada into the USA. That's an understatement.
They haven't even touched the bike nor even listed the bike, why busy their balls... He's not kidding about high compression, lithium batteries blow their load or not at all. If the battery hasn't been cycled in a while which this one hasn't, it loses the capacity because lithium batteries have a memory of the capacity. As the lithium battery loses its charge, it loses memory for its capacity and you lose a percentage of total capacity each time it goes dead.
@@Aint1S did you miss the part where it was their mechanic who originally built it? Throwing batteries at a bike you can't jump start isn't going to fix anything.

Iv been working on these things 41 years. You guys knowledge look's like we did when we were teenagers except we knew what we were doing because if our bikes broke, there was no cell phones. My first addition on any bike, even New is a lithium battery. Instant weight loss with minimum money. Only 1% discharge/ month vs 1%/day with toxic lead acid. Last 2-4 times longer vs Lead acid. Charge in a matter of minutes vs hours. Anti gravity batteries have restart features which saves some cranking if battery fails so your never stranded. Lithium batteries have huge CCA. This bike you may go up higher on the CCA because of high compression. My Super Duke came with a lead acid battery with 200 CCA. I bought a 400 CCA anti gravity. My SD has 13.6 to 1 compression with 4.25 diameter pistons.
toxic lead. lol.
you ever see what lithium does?
don't those lipo's get very fussy about charge and discharge regime? especially if the rest of the electrical system on the bike was designed specifically for lead acid?
Lithium Iron batteries have come along way last few years. They are just a little more expensive than lead acid. They even make lithium ION and IRON batteries for your cars. Anti gravity came out with a 12 volt Lithium ION battery vs IRON. ION is more expensive at $700 but weighs 45 pounds less. Weight loss in a car not that big deal. Lead Acid usually 1 year warranty vs Lithium IRON 2-3 years. You do not need a trickle charger since holds charge for a year. Lead acid batteries will not crank a bike if down 30% or 70% of charge. Lithium will give full cranking power until around only 10% left. I notice it with my lithium lawnmower or lithium edger. You have full power until the battery dies. A nickel cad or lead acid starts losing power as it approaches 70-80% of charge. It is amazing. I have lithium battery in one bike 8 years old.
Look at the Antigravity restart. You never know when a battery will give out. With restart, no worries especially if left lights on over night.
I guess I am into batteries. I bought a Tesla that I charge with my solar panels. Gas and electricity savings around $900/month on Maui, Hawaii. Tesla’s batteries still going strong at 300,000 miles. Once the batteries can not hold at least 70% charge you can use them in your house for at least 10 years. Then the last phase(3) you sell it to a recycle plant where 99% can be recycled. Tesla has 8 years/unlimited miles on powertrain. Tesla states will last one million miles. Then replacement batteries will be cheaper and better. I am installing a Tesla battery in my house this month to be totally off the grid. I sell excess power I make to the grid. Tesla and making batteries cheaper make GRID STORAGE batteries profitable. That is the new holy grail, battery storage, which balances the supply/demand part of equation for our nations GRID. Of course, many businesses are buying storage batteries to store cheap electricity and use battery storage when GRID power more expensive.
Compression releases on a high compression engine are your friend.
Any fool can sell bikes, BUT consumer service is what brings folks back!
Good on y'all! 👍
Exactly! How many dealers would have pushed that bike out and let that guy have it without it starting on a regular basis. Good dealers are a rarity in the business.
Consumer. A word used by the elite to refer to regular people. Down here in the trenches, the man is a customer. Think about how words are used in our culture and you'll start to see how easily we've been led down the primrose path.
@@aaronjohnmaughan Primrose Path. A phrase used by the elite...
Consumer, a word used by economists mostly to describe people and entities that use a product or service, is what we motorcyclists are.
Well, the word consumer has never set well with me. It's a cold and callous word. Cancer consumes. Fire consumes. A lava flow consumed the village. To consume is akin to destroy.
Personally, I like to use the word customer. We build relationships with other people by participating in customs together. To be treated well and fairly by a shop you do business with should be customary. It describes the ritual of doing business in a more gentle fashion.
@@aaronjohnmaughan consumer refers to someone (or something) that consumes, you are correct. Essentially an item has less value after a consumer touches it. Food, gas, vehicles, throwaway electronics, etc.

I know its a older video but hopefully you guys read this. I've built many a bike and high compression cars. Yes a good high torque starter helps big time but this is a good fix for this bikes concern. Install a kill switch. That way you can get the engine up to cranking speed before giving it ignition, This way the high compression and ignition fire isn't working against the battery and starter. Cool thing it makes for a real lowed first start.
Back in 1973 i rode my Honda 160 from just north of San Fransisco to the tip of Baja and took a ferry over to Mazatlan. And i made it back home on that bike too ! I spoke really crappy Spanish when i started the trip and that didn't improve. Although i could say Uno Mas Cerveza por favor !!
Compression releases would certainly be on my “ things to change “ list.

There are bikes that you have and the bike that you want. Looking at upgrades with parts and labor, it can be a wish list kind of thing by the time you pull out your calculator. So I understand this guy's excitement when he saw the bike he wanted. I found my "dream" bike a few weeks ago. Obviously I would like a $25,000 bike but I found my REALISTIC dream bike and knew I had to have it. I am a Honda guy, started on a Shadow AERO 750, after 2 years and 27,000 miles later I sold it and upgraded to a VTX1300R. After less than a year I sold it, making an $800 profit, and saw a VTX1800N at a BMW dealership in Las Vegas (I'm in L.A.). It had the chrome meat hook ape hangers that I always wanted to have on my previous bikes, has Cobra dual exhaust drag pipes, a batwing with Bluetooth stereo with 4 Polk speakers, has a 1300 final drive and it even has an airbag suspension. Plus only 13K miles. It's pretty sweet. Even has a custom candy apple red paintjob. I always thank SRK for teaching me in the videos and steering me towards a bike that best suits me.
There is different kind of solution for the starting problem…
1) Get a stronger starter motor…
2) change the gearing of the starter mechanism…
3) make it 2 starter motor
I'm so happy for this guy it's crazy... I remember when I spotted my dream bike an bought it that day

You are the chick fil'a of dealerships. Never bought a motorcycle but now I want to buy one from you just because
Anything you'd change on it? yeah, the frame, the engine, the wheels, the seat and the tank. Apart from that i'll keep it just the way it is!
One possible reason it was difficult to start was because Sean's jeans weren't short enough.
My first motorcycle I bought was four hours from my house. Got dropped off. Had to learn to ride a motorcycle on the way home. Different times. We always heard old farts talking about that, how fast times change now huh. Never dropped a bike, never had a crash, never lost control (unintentionally), never even stalled a bike (or car). I started flying before I could learn to drive, so I was always more accustomed to a bike than an armchair on wheels. Never looked back. Ridden everywhere daily, rain hail or shine, ever since. Only downside is with a hard tail the lack of suspension breaks your back as you get older.
I’m 47 now.. at 19 in 92 rode a rebel 250 from swfl to Atlanta on I-75.. 650 miles crazy trip
Met you at vid summit. Can’t tell you how many times I pop started my dirt bikes!! This was great. Next time use ether !! Much love ❤️
I rode a fireblade from Perth to Phillip island in Victoria once, said I'd never do that to myself ever again, I sold the bike in Melbourne, bought a car to drive back, just near the Victorian/South Australia border got pulled over, turned out the car was stolen, long story short I lost my cash, had to buy an old Susuki Bandit with the money I could get so as to get back home to go to work, the ride home turned out to be Awesome, the old Suzi bandaid was so nice to ride on the open road compared to the fireblade which in 2014 was almost a year old, anyways all this was a crazy riding story by my standards, but it's how i ended up discovering that I love touring, now I keep the sportsbikes to weekend and track days..
I was waiting amd watching for this bike to come up for sale
He who waits...
Honestly you guys are the best motorcycle dealer I have ever seen
Daveez234 the bike would have been running if it was a good dealer. Use your damn brain lol
@@r.s.customz1502 they just got the damn thing, didnt have any time yet to work on it. If you actually watched the video, it wasnt on their website because it didnt run yet. Also in the end, he didnt ride it home. They fixed it up (just needed a new battery) and delivered it for free.
Rode an old 52 hard tail from Ky to Zainsville Ohio in a cold February .
Strap and a truck. Hold the strap till you are hauling ass kick it into second and hold on lol.
In the end...that was super nice of you to deliver.....He'da been stuck out there for sure....and that sux...
rule #1 when seller asks what your willing to pay for it, don't make an offer, because if seller accepts the offer it's like you paid to much. ask the seller whats the lowest you can go than negotiate off that price.
paul bunyun then dont be butthurt when seller wont go below his bottom....
"seller won't go below his bottom" wouldn't he be butt hurt?
Thank you for bringing back riding memories. I'm 63 now & thinking of riding again. I didn't know inspiration would come from UTube LOL
"The real reason to avoid buying custom bikes" --- they're crap - every one of them - with absolutely no exception.
You sir, are a frickin idiot. I bought my custom bike sight unseen 14 years ago on Ebay and it is the best bike I ever owned in over 54 YEARS!!!! It draws crowds everywhere I go & wins trophy's at bike nights since 2007. Never a problem of any kind. You know why custom rules??? Because stock sucks! Your'e probably one of those guys when asked which bike is yours you say, "the black bagger". One of a dozen in the parking lot. How efin boring. Oh yeah, I'm 70 and still ridin rigid.
That's such a stupid point not all custom bikes are crap and ugly this company called Autofabrica makes really nice custom bikes
S&S engines are the exception.
@@robertshaefer7760 - No offence mate, everyone should do what makes them happy, but honestly, just look at them - huge, overweight lumps of iron that's can only travel at a snail's pace in a straight line. My Triumph has enough personal touches to stand out and is a thrill every ride. Ride safe and don't take anything too seriously. (I'm 74 by the way).
@Eric pye ; You are one of those guy's that fouls a spark plug, put's the bike in your garage and never ride it again.
Damn ima come to yall to by a bike! Yall trade for my mustang?? Yall are fun to watch and truly hooked him up and care about your customers!
Needs a bigger tank, both for the look and the range, and a new starter of course... Other than that, that's a cool bike man!
Remco van Vliet ...it’s a bobber. It’s supposed to have a tiny tank. For range, don’t get a bobber
Grieg Ragen it’s all opinion. I don’t like bobbers, but a bobber with a big tank would be uglier than a properly built one. Yeah, bobbers suck
When you push start you jump on it and drop the clutch with all your weight otherwise it will lock up and slide.. That gent got a really great deal for $4800, that's a lot of quality metal for the money.
hmmmm , i would never ride bike that barely start , back 3 hrs trip , would be a nitemare on elm street if stranded somewhere
But nobody would steal it
(because they can't start it)🤣🤣🤣
Hi Sean. While I don't ride, I enjoy your channel very much, mostly because I really enjoy seeing your rides around Lancaster County! I know live in California, but am very familiar with the area you're in. I graduated from Donegal many moons ago, and had lots of friends from Hempfield. Keep up the cool vids, and sharing the Word. God bless!
So ya asked for crazy motorcycle stories in the comments... I bought an '82 Suzuki GS 1100 that had been sitting for a few years. It was "old-manned" out, full fairing, hard bags, etc. I took all that off, drained/cleaned/synced the carbs, fresh oil, and it was ready to go up for sale. This thing was FAST. This was back in my younger and wilder years. One day, I was at my local hangout after work on a Friday, drinking heavily. Lol. I had a thing for Rumpleminze, see? To make an already long story short, my buddy followed me back to my house (we were in cars at 1st), we drank a few more, and he wanted me to go to his house. (About 15 miles away). I jump on the GS, and follow him, taking back country roads all the way to avoid any po-po. The Rumpleminze was doing its job, removing any fear and/or common sense. I shot out to go around him, and once I got in front of him, I yanked a monster wheelie, standing on the rear pegs, gas tank in my chest. To this day, I don't understand how I survived what happened next. I was about 56-60 mph, don't know what gear, and the left rear footpeg snapped in off. The bike came down hard, with me doing some crazy shit trying to stay in control and pull myself back into riding position. My buddy that was directly behind me, said it looked incredible from his viewpoint. Luckily, he didn't run over me, and somehow I stayed on the bike and lived. I did have to replace fork seals after that, though. You asked for some crazy bike stories. That was pretty crazy. Just one of quite a few I could tell ya. And for all the haters that are bound to chime in, I did grow up, and I don't do that kinda stuff anymore. I know it was very stupid on my part - but it makes for a great story. Lol
I always squirted abit of gas into the combustion chamber through the sparkplug hole to encourage a start it's always worked very well
Damn .... $4800?? could have built your own cheaper than that ....
@Michael Brennan Depends on who and where you get the motor from .... point is, He spent way more than that PoS bike was worth
They are giving customs away they dont have the value, with so many used low mileage Harleys for sale. Why bother with the headache and another battery in 8 mos.
obviously- you never built a bike before. THIS bike is a piece of shit though. The engine isn't, but the rest, poor / incomplete build. Decompression ports or decompression cams are a MUST on this bike... especially if you want to kick it.
Because they aren't worth a shit for anything at all. About as practical as goose crap on a pump handle.
As practical as any bike is. My triumph chopper has been running for 10+ years. 6 of them it was my only form of transportation. Between 20-30 k miles a year. That's a 9ft long long rake hard tail chopper. Not many factory bikes even have that many miles on them.
Did Action Bronson ever get his bike?
Title should say: Why I never ever buy a bike without a kickstarter ;-)
A Kickstart on that thing might give ya a serious injury.
Honestly I prefer kick starting motorcycles, I feel like I’m in so much power and I feel badass using it to be honest.
Me? I'd have backed the ignition timing off a little as the compression is very high, also checking all the electrical connections for leakage etc.
Best of luck with your new bike dude👍🏽
My craziest motorcycle trip was when I was 19 and just bought my first bike, a Yamaha VSTAR 250. The chain was wiggly as all get out and after buying it the next day I decided to ride down to Austin from Fort Worth to show my brother. It couldn't hit 75 mph and I was on I 35 which is super dangerous and Semis were everywhere, but hey. It was a blast, I survived, and my brother saved my life when he told me "Bro yer chain looks like its about to fall off". I learned how to tighten a chain and made it back to fort worth safely lol. Stupidest and craziest ride ever xD
My best friends son was stationed at
Camp Lejeune and needed to borrow an air mattress. (Queen size)
I loaded it on the tail rack of my 1883 Honda Ascot VT 500 FT and rode 750 mile round trip to take it to him.
Had to work the next day. NOT A COMFORTABLE RIDE!!! But a VERY NIMBLE BIKE!!!!!!
Another time I flew to NH from Western NC To buy a replacement Honda ST1300, to replace the one I got rear ended on the year before.
I left the dealer after checking both keys in all locks. I dropped the spare key in the locking compartment in the fairing. Stopped for gas in a little PODUNK town on Hwy. 9 in VA for gas. Went to unlock the gas tank and broke the key!!!!! (Not a big deal for getting gas the cap still worked, I just couldn’t start the bike without my spare)
🤬
I W8ted an hour asked the girl at the register if she had a coat hanger to fish around in the locked pocket for my spare key she didn’t have one!!
I asked every person that came through in a car for the next hour (all 3 of them)!!
Nobody had one!
I was just about to pry it open to retrieve my spare key and I had an apostrophe!! (I know it’s an Epiphany)
I opened the unlocked pocket and I’ll be darned at some point, and I Don’t remember moving the key from the locking compartment?????
BUT THERE IT WAS!!!!!
I finished my ride home to Western NC by way of detroit. Yea I took the long way home!!!!
Put almost 2K miles on a trip that was just under 1,000 miles.
But it was a beautiful ride. Got to see some friends!!!
And ENJOYED my trip up to and after the key indecent!!!!
And by comparison to the trip on the 500 Ascot?
This bike was NO COMPARISON!!!!
Very comfortable!!!!!!!
I had my custom once. never again.
Is there any mods to make a hardtail tolerable in yer' pinion
yeah dont ride a bike with actual suspension.@@johndro3014
superhoggbike had a ‘51’ PANNY all DONE UP, ALOTA fun to ride & definitely a head turner BUT I was workin on it MORE than RIDE’N it. Great for cruise’n around town THATS IT.
I was thinking of a ZERO ENGINEERING type of softail, looks KOOL plus u can RACK UP the miles
I had a rigid frame chopper and jees couldn’t stand it
Backing those bikes down the ramp in sandals. 🤔
You guys need to see lasersaber's jumper pack, uses super cap's and a small lithium pack. It's how jumper packs should be. More current in a quick discharge.
The couple are cute, i like the buyer, awesome bike
so can someone please explain to me why this stripped down, plasti-dipped looking bike is worth 4800?
Because it has loud exhaust.
Any item...be it a motorcycle or whatever, is worth whatever somebody is willing to pay for it.
The S&S engine is worth 5 g's alone
My craziest trip that even tops my first sportster 60 miles home from cleveland and ide never riden before and didnt have insurance... was when me and my wife rode an 84 flhs from cortland to marietta in an absolute sunami....hardest rain ive ever seen for 4 hrs and when we got to marietta the whole town was shut down...no horse drawn carriage rides...resturants....nothing...we spent the night in our tent which included that bike because i didnt want it sitting in all that rain and in the morning we rode home. Wife never complained one time.
That's a good looking bobber, but it would have to start easier for me.
Engine that don't run coming from a mechanic is never a good sign.
This channel. Great stories and what a great bunch of guys. Off to watch the next one!
My first ride on my ninja 300 with zero experience was Alice Springs to Adelaide 1599km (16hour trip with out stops) did it in 20 hours, got soaked in a downpour, got caught between spuds and boarder with no fuel stops open, left in 37degree Celsius and arrived in adelaides 11degree temps fully soaked and frozen. Was a giant eye opener and decided to buy a car and drive back as 20 hours on a sport bike is torture.
Craziest ride: Iron Butt (1000mi/24hr) ride on my first bike, a 30-year-old Honda Shadow 500, before I learned any mechanical skills more than lawnmower repair.
It held up FLAWLESSLY. Literally not a single issue. Well... Mechanical issue, anyway. The seat on that thing was a stepped cruiser style one - fantastically comfortable for the first 50 miles, fantastically uncomfortable after that. Before that ride was over, I had sat on the passenger seat stretched out, on the tank folded up, and practically reclined with my ass on the tank, feet on the touring pegs and back leaned up against the person-size pile of luggage and camping equipment strapped to the back.
I love that engine so much. I've been looking for an Ascot VT500 for ages because it's the same engine in a standard style bike. 'course, now I've got a few more years experience I'd want to do a fork swap. And some better brakes than the notoriously terrible 80s Honda blocks-of-wood. And a shock upgrade. And. And and and.
Builder spent 20 k in parts 😆😆😆 was that on the battery
Guess he should have bought a mini van first, then kept saving up again to replace the money for finishing the bike. Just seems like a real big loss if the engine cost more than he made selling it.
That wouldve made me insane spending so much for all the parts and then give it away.
"A fool and his money.........".
No he a Happy man 👨.
I pity the fool
