Liverpool fan here. One of the things our club has done right in recent years is to place as much emphasis on character as ability when signing. Klopp felt one of the players (Sakho) wasn't serious in his first preseason and shipped him out without ever playing him. From the outside looking in some of the players at United seem to think they've made it just by being in the first team, having a fat wallet, a good haircut and a few tattoos. A rebuild at United will take several transfer windows and consistent recruitment / stylistic strategy. I can't see any point getting rid of Amorin or any other manager till then.
Exactly. I always think of Keane's character/mentality. Never like him much back then but had to respect him. You need the right characters to set and uphold the standards. YNWA.
Signed during ten hags tenure, ten hags first choice signings were ignored and they overpaid for back up suggestions. It also shows that the newer signings are the players applying themselves in training while the older players that predate ETH don't get a sniff.

Was Ten Hag the sporting director or CEO? He was a manager. How do you know exactly who spent the money? It was not the manager's fault back then and it is not the manager's fault now.
Not the biggest fan of Ten Hag, but I don’t believe he wanted Zirkzee. It was a case of the board stepping in and buying a cheaper alternative. Not to mention Zirkzee came back from the off season nearly a stone overweight
Was in the ground yesterday, the fans were frustrated from minute 1, but it was obvious they were pouncing on Zirkzee from the first whistle. ‘GTFO the pitch you f&*%#’ it wasn’t just the booing. Don’t go every week, just a few times a season, but it’s very sad to see what a toxic place OT has become
He’s a young guy and only just arrived. His confidence is now shot. Can’t believe Utd fans would do this to one of their own. He’s not to blame for the mess you’re in. Yes, he’s not playing well, but loads of young players struggle in year one.

I agree in principal to stick to his philosophy. The mistake was not hiring Amorim in the summer. Such big change in style needed full pre season & different personal. Hiring Amorim mid season has given him neither
Honestly if you look at Amorim's face and his antics yesterday his whole aura and gestures screamed "omg, these mandem are so bad that I'm gonna get sacked for sure"
How can Amorrim be absolved of this tactical naivety .. nothing to do with the squad.. he’s trying maintain a formation or style not suited to the squad..
Can he and INEOS hold their nerve? The financial implications of going down would be huge considering all the debt the clubs in. It could destroy the club and the cut backs and redundancies INEOS have so far made could be just a drop in the ocean.
Professional coaches need to have more than just a single approach to play. Ability to adapt is key, though poor players will limit his options and impact
@NickStarling-g1p........I was a Man Utd fan back then too. We had Tommy Doc as our manager who built a young, dynamic team [Stevie Coppell and Gordon Hill on the wings, Mcilroy and Macari in midfield, Gordon McQueen at the centre of our defence and Stuart Pearson up front]. We literally swept the league aside and came straight back up after relegation. BUT we had a determined, talented group of players who understood what Man Utd are all about! Players that would literally die for the club. The current players don't get that and never will.
I read that some of the senior players and their agents are already calling the manager “interim Ruben”. That tells you everything you need to know about these players. I would have given him a 5 year contract out of spite.
Almost everyone knows there are structural issues with the club that a change of manager alone cannot fix. That said, Amorim is completely unqualified for the job. He doesn’t understand a much more competitive league where sometimes grinding out a result is vital, even for the most talented teams. You always expect a honeymoon bounce when a hotly-tipped new manager comes in. Players want to impress. There’s been none of that. The humiliation of Rashford was a huge mistake. Yes, there have been off pitch incidents. Perhaps he’s not trained as hard as Amorim wants. But he’s been a great servant to the club for many years whose only real crime is not being the ‘world class’ forward desired, just a very good Premiership player. Of course, this will turn the dressing room. Badly. I agree: get rid of the deadwood. Promote youth team players. Be canny with loan deals and bringing in seasoned legends in late career that could set an example. But I do not think Amorim is the man to do that. Sadly. Back to the drawing board.
“ change of manager alone cannot fix” then basically say we need to change the manager 😂😂 firstly the whole squad needs booting before anyone can even suggest sacking Amorim. Let him get his players in then judge his progression after his 1st full season.
1. Bro we ain’t going down , 2 Amorim is having a prem crash course but will come good 3. Berada has got him in to clear the decks and will give him time to,
It’s not as bad as it’s all being made out to be. A few signings are need to revamp the team. Midfield needs mobility and physicality- the attack needs fast, techy forwards and we will be able to compete
for the people saying the 343 isn't work and amorim should switch to a back four, the 433 didn't work for us either. it's not like ten hag was just sacked playing his 4231 that he has been using with this team for two and a half years now
It is partly on Amorim why he decided to put Eriksen and Casimero up against Tonali, Bruno G & Joelinton and expect them to be able to control the midfield is a sign of a bad managerial decision, those three battered Liverpools midfield and are arguably one of the best midfield trio’s in the premier league
@@darengardner6219 .....My thought entirely! Amorim is smart [certainly smart enough to know Eriksen and Casimero are going to get absolutely mullered against Newcastle's powerful midfield]. And I don't see fans criticizing Ten Hag; almost all of his signings are flops or weren't, aren't, ready to play week in-week out.
This team is ETH’s team ffs- he spent 600billion and made the team far worse. To blame Amorim is insane- the guy barely got in. How is he supposed to manage ten hag’s shite players? Once he gets his players in, then u can judge him.

More than that it feels like they're trying to have the manager sacked at this point just like they did with the previous ones. Rashford, Garnacho, Casemiro, Erikson, Martinez and Onana have to go asap! They're poisoning that team while getting big payouts! Rashford is doing everything he can to FORCE a transfer BUT He will not put in a transfer request because he will lose the 15% bonus loyalty payment from the fee and his brrother as his agent gets part of that...!
What many failed to understand or see is that no doubt currently most of the player is not performing or not good enough rest upon the responsibility of the manager or coach. By exposing their weakness to the world & expecting to sell them is absolutely stupid.
If Amorim will not change his formation and football principles, he should at least do something else differently, at least things that are within his power and control: ▪︎ player more midfielders in his formation - Ugarte & Mainoo/Collyer/Casemiro as no. 6s then Bruno & Eriksen/Mount/Mainoo as no 10s ▪︎ give Collyer more game time ▪︎ leave Amad as your RWB ▪︎ consider Garnacho for the striker position after all, he has always scored more goals than he creates for others, but can at least create goals for himself ▪︎ Draft it some youth players and make them part of the squad, players like Obi-Martin & Amass. ▪︎ sell whoever we can sell that is sellable and on our transfer list ▪︎ make the most of opportunities in the Janaury window like Olmo if there is a chance there; he needs to convince Ineos that the squad needs freshening, improving, and fast or else he will be marked as the problem (manager again, instead of the players)
Have some of the players “checked out” already, thinking “I’m not going to be here next season” ? But who would want to buy those still under contract, given their current form, attitude and wages ?
Man U must start looking at their youth. They can still be moulded with good man management and coaching. Good goalkeeper and perhaps a decent center back is critical though as a start...just to survive the season.
Amass doesnt have a spot in this system unless he adapt to a midfield role, hes technically solid but even less physical than Martinez. Obi Martin (ive watched him enough) is raw as hell, he barely has a first touch and cannot move with the ball in a meaningful way.
INEOS are incharge of the footballing side of things, Glazers are the ones cutting charity donations, they still have the final say. Ratcliffe's problem is the lack of communication
Angelina is damn right on Rashford. Personally, as a Manchester United fan, I don’t want to see Rashford in that jersey AGAIN. Many of were a Utd fan before he joined as an academy player, and I don’t care he gets out. The fact he is a Mancunian doesn’t give him the passport to disrespect the club. We all need to back the manager. Great show Flex, Crooky and the beautiful Angelina.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Has anyone considered some of the players are doing this on purpose to get Amorim fired or force him to bow to player pressure? They ve certainly done it before and even very recently.
The manager is part to blame too… Utd were very quick in replacing Ruud van Nistelrooy.. He was good yes in that league but the premier league is a different ball game.. Nistelrooy won 3 matches convincingly and even Chelsea had to come from behind.. the way Utd moved the ball plus creating of chances was very good and if you go back into those matches you will find out that he had a combative midfield which was really helping the defence.. we just needed him and I feel so bad that he was let go..
Everyone tells us what United has to do. First, we will not do any movement in the January transfer window. If Amorim quits his style of play we may win a couple games but we will be in the same spot next year that we are this year. We have stupid players that are either too lazy to adapt a new style or too stubborn. They need to go but we cannot get rid of them yet because no one wants to buy them and take on the ridiculous wages they were given by this joke of a club. The Glazers and Ineos, which I call the Rat Pack, are in it for profit and are not that interested in the performance of the club. Amorim is the only one who is actually trying to get this club back from the abyss and he has no help in doing so. Fans need to start aiming their anger at the owners and Ineos instead of a manager or a 23 year old new player who is struggling.
I think Man U made the wrong appointment. Amorim is a top technical coach. Man U needs a coach with strong man management skills and experience of the PL. Listening to Amorim he is too caught up with his system and is not pragmatic. These players if managed by Klopp Slot Eddy Dyche Eddy will perform.
the best manager for united was mourinho. its obvious now in hindsight. he was the one who was willing to be tough on them and whip them into shape... and they ran him out of town for it.
@@MattMajcan Mourinho was never going to be a long term option. He stays 3 years max, at most clubs. He’s always sacked because he turns so toxic. He made the entire club miserable in his final year.
This is all Peps fault. He kept Ten Haag in the job, and pushed Utd further down this road to the point where there's no pit stops or service stations to help them course correct.
It is on INEOS and Amorim. Their job was to bring in a manager to turn things around and get the best out of this squad and they brought in a manager that doesn't suit these players. On top of thay Amorim is making selection mistakes and it's killing the team
It's all on Amorim, no manager plays a system current squad can't play, 3-4-3, negative, defensive, dinosaur, foreign to MU. What do you want him to change Flex. He has no time with them to train so the only details they have are basic. What from the basics can he change? Nothing. He needs better players and if Ineos can't do that then let united go down so that they can be forced to sell to someone who can invest their own money to this club.

De Gea was shocking the last couple of years of his contract. And he was stalling over contract offer. So whilst he was still making high profile errors, and getting us knocked out of competitions, the club decided to go look elsewhere.
@Discombobulate453 high profile errors??? Nothing more "high profile" than single-handedly knocking us out of Champions League like onana did. Yes, de Gea made a few mistakes in the ending, bt every player has a bad moment, bt we should have stuck with him and shown him support like he showed us. Especially since he had won player of the season multiple times, single handedly saving us double-digit points and gave me personal confidence, Dave duckin saves! A GK being our best player, do you know how crazy that sounds. Bt hysteria from fans like Flex make the gullable loud voices for unnecessary change. Where is the hysteria for Rashford who is an average player at best.
Why after every loss does everyone say "that was the worst I've ever seen"? Surely there are several liverpool losses that are the worst. Or the losses against city where we don't even get a touch in their box? What about losing 4 nil to MK Dons?

We are 7 points above the relegation zone and he is saying it is a possibility?: Amorim out and bring in Kieran McKenna
Jose Mourinho told you guys years ago about the players problem but you sacked him off... It'll be the same this time and the next, till you get relegated
Amorim is playing everybody so the fans see that they don't have a squad. I agree with him, let the man slowly boot the deadwood and introduce some youth. Amorim wont change his ways like Ten Hag done, there's no turning back, this United squad got to go, look at Chelsea didn't had Europe for a season and now are top 5. Can the fans stomach United having a dead year where they just allow to rebuilt the new system?
It's so hard in football to plan a future when the media put you on death row every game which is then picked up by "supporters" who seemingy can't give time a chance and change their thoughts weekly. He needs this January and then a full pre season to be given a chance.
The definition of madness; believing a new manager at Man U can get a song out of these players. I feel sorry for the fans, they’re a really decent loyal group.
Loyal to what? Most are only there for the wins and exit the stadium as soon as they see it's not happening. So loyal they'll abuse and pillory a young lad for having a bad game. Ridiculous level of entitlement makes me laugh.
What on earth is this woman talking about? I want the manager to be successful, but I want to know how Marcus Rashford is treating the manager. She is not making sense. The manager is biting off his nose to spite his face. My question is, is Manchester United's academy so bad that the manager cannot find anyone from it to come into the first team?
@zinedinezidane4771 It's ludicrous when I hear most of these so-called football analysts or experts saying these players get so many managers sacked. The squad is unrecognizable from when Ole was there, and the squad ole put together was best since Sir Alex.

YNWA.

They got third two seasons ago...800 million spent, United deserve to not spend anymore as other teams have to sell just to spend 20 million.

The coaches doesn't do magic 😢
With the formation it was working out either
The managers that failed at United were those that gave up their system and gave in to players and fan pressure.
I was a fan when we last got relegated, it was a good thing back then but we had better players then to bounce back.
This current team dreadful
Aye, this current group would be destroyed in the Championship as well.

NEVER HAD SUCH NONSENSE!!!
If Amorim will not change his formation and football principles, he should at least do something else differently, at least things that are within his power and control:
▪︎ player more midfielders in his formation - Ugarte & Mainoo/Collyer/Casemiro as no. 6s then Bruno & Eriksen/Mount/Mainoo as no 10s
▪︎ give Collyer more game time
▪︎ leave Amad as your RWB
▪︎ consider Garnacho for the striker position after all, he has always scored more goals than he creates for others, but can at least create goals for himself
▪︎ Draft it some youth players and make them part of the squad, players like Obi-Martin & Amass.
▪︎ sell whoever we can sell that is sellable and on our transfer list
▪︎ make the most of opportunities in the Janaury window like Olmo if there is a chance there; he needs to convince Ineos that the squad needs freshening, improving, and fast or else he will be marked as the problem (manager again, instead of the players)
Luke Shawarma, Mount, Rashford, Maguire, Anton all out
With that squad there is no guarantee that we could compete for automatic promotion in the championship..
Have some of the players “checked out” already, thinking “I’m not going to be here next season” ? But who would want to buy those still under contract, given their current form, attitude and wages ?
What’s with the shock? NUFC are better to a man
Man U must start looking at their youth. They can still be moulded with good man management and coaching. Good goalkeeper and perhaps a decent center back is critical though as a start...just to survive the season.
The squad is riddled with distressed assets... You don't raise meaningful funds from distressed assets
Spot on!

Has anyone considered some of the players are doing this on purpose to get Amorim fired or force him to bow to player pressure? They ve certainly done it before and even very recently.
Rashford was doing the same and you guys hammered him for the donation
They need to be ruthless with the players, where is Collyer, not stopping a cross has nothing to do with formation

You should be able to do the same reset and recovery if you finish 17th.

All these so called experts, there’s clear lack of confidence with the losses, all the players aren’t bad, it’ll turn - when I don’t know, that’s the scary bit
The team is showing zero improvement under Amorim.
Then why don't boycott mu matches to make a difference. Clearly the owners don't care what the supporters think.
Its not the players its the manager
Definitely the dumbest comment in the chat a blind man can see its the players
@ianjones2731 Amorim is absolutely clueless. We need to sack him now
