In my opinion it's easier not to create a custom skin for the type 59. Instead of that you could use the original type 59G model that can be found among the game files, and just rename it.

I sort of wonder how to make these textures containing something called albedo (base texture as seen in perfectly diffuse light), roughness, "metalicity", normal maps and so on, to make something like scratched copper with patches of green rust. Even worse how to make machined metal which has roughness depending on orientation. Making program which renders it to look good seems as the easiest step ... it's just a few lines of code plus some color space conversion. But making texture of metal object that shows wear on the most exposed parts such as edges? Making model of plastic object with fingertips? Hopefully I don't need it, but sometimes it's weird to see computer graphics with these photorealistic materials showing wear, rust, dirt, wetness and so on.
@@pavelperina7629 Its the textures working together for deciding how light bounces off of an object, or making the surface bounce the light towards a different orientation; using normal maps to basically customize the normals of a face. It is totally fascinating you can create a fully realistic object with only 4 maps, or (like WG did) packing roughness, metallic, and other information (which the game engine uses to customise the tank) into a single map! Then the Albedo and the normal map. Thus using only 3 maps, but containing more information. There is one more map called AO (Ambient occlusion) which is generally used as a mesh map to generate the textures itself, used here as a texture map. It adds either snow, mud or sand on occluded surfaces like the turret ring to add more realism. Making of the textures of the surfaces you said like "metal object with edge wear" or "plastic object with fingertips" can be easy with texturing programs like Substance Painter or Zbrush. I personally use Substance, and it uses layer system like a photoshop. You gradually add the information to make the surfaces as appealing as it can be. I totally sounded like ChatGPT I know lmao, and sorry for the late response I just saw the comment. Cheers!
Really cool video, man, but you got some stuff in an inaccurate way, so here are some considerations from a 3D artist: The GMM map appears to be a Glossiness Metallic Mask map. Red is glossiness, green is metallic, and blue is a mask (for removing the diffuse color from cammo, making it go back to the paint color). Maps with 3 letters like that in 3D texturing often mean that RGB is "parallel" to GMM (these maps are not industry standard so there is a bit of guessing here). It is a way to store 3 separate black and white maps in a single image (this saves resources on the PC as opposed to loading 3 separate images). Therefore, the white, gray, yellow, and other colors you showed are just affecting multiple stuff at the same time (Glossiness, Metallic, and Mask). There is no gray channel in RGB, so when you start doing that gradient to white and black, you are actually changing all the RGB channels at the same time to make gray, white, and black.

I have played for some time, with non-historical filter off, and I have not seen any tanks that are this "pretty and shiny?". So im worried about doing this because if they really check my mod folder and they find this (the edited 2D textures), i think i would get banned. So is it safe to do this? Should i be worried that i get banned? If anyone know how WG check for illegal mods (for ex. after clan campaign) can you please explain it to me?

My char mle skin loads perfectly in the garage, but when I load into a game, the skin doesn't appear, and my game crashed within 10 seconds of the battle starting. Any idea why? Pkg files are my favourite files, as they allow to change almost anything in the game, e.g. few days ago I put night for all current maps by simply replacing "environments" folder located in every map's pkg file with the "environments" located in current garage's file and also with the same method I made daytime in the garage, although it looks awful as all the sky effects are just plain textures, so they remain no matter the skybox

The yellow channel (i suppose) is used when tanks go in the water, they use a sort of shade from purple to yellow that goes all purple after some time

It does, just mess arround with it you have nothing to mess up really if you follow this, and can find original textures again anyways
Guys, who can tell you why some tanks are missing files. For example, M46_Patton does not have hull GMM. Maybe this file is in another place.
