About a year ago I got the Genie Advanced as my only pump with my second baby. I started with pumping once a day and then when I went back to work I pumped 5-6 times and breastfed the rest. You could say I was half and half pumping and breastfeeding. When I started pumping I was out of town and would be traveling a lot so it made sense to start with a portable pump. It worked great for 9 months as my only pump. We went on hikes together, car rides, driving, took breaks together on ski days. She was normally paired with pumpables flanges and would team up with Legendairy Cups on the go. I had great success until about 9 months when my volume really dropped. Maybe that was normal but I got nervous that I wouldn’t make it to a year so I bought the blue Spectra. It was a huge improvement at that stage and I was able to make it to 13 months when I weaned off. I loved having both. Overall I would get both again.
Thanks for the info. The upgrade fee for the Spectra S1 was $135 with my insurance. Looking at a portable battery for about $40-50 I went ahead and got the S1. I bought the Genie Advanced during one of their sales.
Which do think is better pump the new baby buddha 2.0 or the Genie Advanced? I have the spectra s1 but need something portable for work. I have a zomee z2 but not a huge fan of it. I am just trying to decide between the baby buddha and the genie. Any advice on these is appreciated!! Thanks

Loved my spectra for last 2 pregnancies but floor nursing has been insane lately and I need a slightly more portable/incognito option as my last pregnancy I would end up skipping 1-2 pumps at work. So was looking at baby Buddha and genie. Leaning towards genie now with the high suction issues with Buddha. Do you think a certain wearable cup option is the best with genie? Or several that I could look between. I’ve been reviewing but SO many options, Freemie, legendairy, etc. I don’t need perfect emptying, as I primarily breastfeed and don’t work full time.
@@DeedsReadzI got the genie pump and love it. I use spectra parts or if a wearable I use the phanpy pumps. Similar to legendairy wearables but much cheaper. I don’t get as much as I do with traditional spectra flange but get enough and haven’t had any leaks as long as I make sure they are put together properly.

The genie seems good but I’ll be a stay at home mum during the breastfeeding phase and just need it so my husband can help out when needed so I can get some rest. Do you think only having the genie (which makes you more mobile around the house) would be enough or do you need a spectra also for “better” pumping? Many thanks!

I use a 21mm flange with the spectra, would I use the same for the liquid shield kit?

Does the genie feel more gentle than the spectra? I’m experiencing pain even with the proper flange size.
