This performance made history for Mira Mesa High School, medaling for the first time since we have been in the 6A division. It was the most emotional night of the season. As a graduating senior, it was an honor to march in this show. So proud of everyone.
I'm so proud of y'all! knowing my highschool marching band made history is wonderful to see. You guys definitely earned that Bronze medal with that outstanding performance. I'm definitely jealous I didn't get to be part of that show being class of '21. Say hi to Mrs. C for me! - Joshua Callo (trmpt)
My freshman year (2010) was the first of three medals that Mira Mesa recieved in 5A. I'm so bummed I couldn't make it out to see you guys medal for the first time since moving into 6A! Congrats! Well deserved! I love this show so much! Steven Moreno, Bass Clarinet, Class of 2014
This show was so cool. I hope that some day I'll be able to make my way back and visit, my years as part of the sapphire sound were some of the most memorable years of my life. Also, hope you're doing well, Steven. ☺️ Evan Hite, Tenor sax player. Class of 2015
There is no better band that I could ever ask for to be proud and part of than the Mira Mesa Sapphire Sound! I am proud of everyone that contributed towards this season. I feel an emptiness knowing that our predecessors did not have this experience when they were part of the 6A division band of Mira Mesa and I am glad we get to play in their honour and all the people who were band members of this school back then, now and in the future are irreplaceable. I hope that we continue to improve from where we were now and reach new heights in the future and carry the legacy of the seniors that I met from class of 2023-2025. - Haresh Baskar, Front Ensemble Percussion (Synthesizer 01), Class of 2026.
Opener: Sweeney Todd Main theme - Stephen Soundheim, Mozart's 25th symphony, Ballad: Joanna from Sweeney Todd - Stephen Soundheim Closer: Overture to 'La Belle et la Bête' - Philip Glass, A New Day - Danny Elfman, I'm missing the piece from the end of the opener and closer, I'll update you if I do find it.
