Of all the puzzles in my collection, the Maltese Gear Cube is BY FAR the most difficult. The algorithms for it are VERY long, so you have a more likely chance of messing up and having to restart. I’ve only ever solved it twice with an algorithm sheet. Both times took me over and hour.
I have a Maltese gear cube too, and I want to solve it, but I can't find a good tutorial for it. Probably for a reason. Can you somehow share the sheet or something?
@@fsfan784 I got the Maltese gear cube for my birthday last year (August) and haven’t been able to solve it 🥲
The only video’s I found were in Spanish 😂 it helped me a little bit but the cube is still waiting to be solved…
@@oliwiaopilowska4743 There is an English tutorial + it has a doc with all the algorithms and the whole method. It's really well explained though solving it is still quite hard. I've solved 3-4 times and every time it takes well over an hour, mainly because I will always mess it up a few time and have to redo the whole thing from the start. The 100+ moves algorithm is a nightmare, especially since you need to do some setup moves before doing it and then remember to reverse them at the end.

Maltese gear cube was an instant L lmao. That thing probably takes about as long as 9x9 or 10x10 if you know how to solve it AND you don't mess up. It's very easy to mess up so for me an average solve takes 1.5h if not more.

In my first ever competition which was yesterday, I +2ed out of my best ever 3x3 solve. How can I recover?
You train your mind to focus on the positives. There may be more competitions in the future. If you never ever fail, successes won’t mean much at all.
I just got hold of the recording and the judge put the wrong time down so it would not have been my best time anyway so I am very happy.
