Pure Pavarotti. Power, purpose, perfection. Honestly, who comes close? He is otherworldly. He truly was kissed by God to have such a gift.....and he knew it.
This is training. Almost everyone has the gift of song. All it takes is much hard work, and something genuine in the heart. Many do lack the second. They go their whole lives singing on fake emotion rather than just existing as they are and singing from the heart plainly without need for any acting
@@stone301 Yes, Pav spent 6 yrs just practicing scales for the most part when he first was taken under wing. Opera singers are athletes and they must train their bodies and voices with hard work and sacrifice. However, you can have a lion heart for singing, you can work like a mule, but without God-given talent, most will seldom make it. And if they do, they will not last decades like Pav did. Be well.
@@stone301 I don't know that you can say that "almost everyone has the gift of song". Many do not. I have a couple of friends who are tone deaf, and could not carry a note if their life depended on it. Pavarotti is definitely a special case.
The ease is evident not just in the release of his High C, but how gently his tongue rests behind his teeth, no shaking of jaw or tongue. Its easy, seamless...just great.
I have always loved this aria, nearly five minutes of full on singing (nowhere to his with this one) towards the end of the aria you hear him soar above the orchestra without any strain simply brilliant singing.
He was larger than life itself. I also love his performance in Paris, for a concert of this song, around 1977. One thing I did wish was for him to sing together with Soprano Julie Andrews. They received the Kennedy Center honors together however.
