My horse sweats herself up in the float so she only goes in a mesh rug then onces she off we take it off and put in her warmer rugs

never feed a horse in a moving trailer, they can bite their tongue, in some cases they can even bite a bit of the tongue off. Think about it, if the horses is in mid bite and you go over a bump it would be so easy for them to injure the tongue.
She is experienced and my trainer recommends it and he's one of the top in the country
