This ride is just pure fun. And no it's not a family coaster. It's a moderate thrill coaster that sits between a true family coaster like cobra's curse and high thrill coaster like kumba and montu. Enthusiasts who think otherwise have a pretty myopic view of coasters.
@@FartNoodle22 its incredibly rough and outdated imo. Its in a corner of the park thats also very outdated but theres so much potential for something better there. I know it’s considered a “classic” but it’s super overrated imo and something new can revitalize that entire area of the park. Thats just my opinion though i know people love it.
@@maxhagenauer24 Yeah, i just made a trip to Busch Gardens for the first time a few months ago. Was on a Tuesday. Almost everything was a walk on until around 3 pm.
I love the vision for this thing. The layout, the cheetah exhibits, they all blend.together in this interesting way The movements even seem cheetah-like, like a type of abstract complementary theming. Not literal but metaphorical.
In my experience, the water is off most of the time. They run it for a few weeks, then turn it back off for months, then turn it back on for a few weeks, then turn it off again for months. It is off more than it is on. At least that is how it was for the last couple years while I still had an annual pass. I haven't been in like 6 months, as I cancelled my annual pass, so maybe they finally changed how they handle it.... About 18 months ago I actually got super pissed at them because they posted to social media "Come on in, the water’s… ON!" and 15 days later, when I finally had time to go, the water was already off. So, the water lasted less than 2 weeks before it was shut off again. I honestly would not be surprised if they turn the water on for the Social Media team to get photos/footage, then turn it off again shortly afterwards when maintenance starts to complain.
Rode this thing about 5 times in a day during the offseason. Fantastic fun and really matches the theme of the ride (a cheetah hunting) to the ride experience.
As someone who is scared of rollercoasters and height in general I ended up loving this ride. I was so surprised. Then hagrids. Baby steps. But it's really fun to me. A good first for a new roller coaster person
This is a good in between of a family coaster and a thrill coaster. Although I wouldn't call it straight up thrill from the speed it takes the elements.
That's exactly what I've been saying. It's more intense than a family coaster, but less intense than a high thrill coaster. I always call it a moderate thrill.
I know this is gonna be controversial, but I think that cheetah hunt just might be the best intimate blitz in Florida. If you just think about the ride,
Yeah, even though I still think Velocicoaster is better it always gets overshadowed by it. You shouldn't think about the intensity or forces of the ride and just think about having fun on the ride.
I haven’t ridden this, but from looking at it, it doesn’t look like a family coaster. This looks like a moderate thrill ride. It does look super fun though! I love how it has multiple launches.
It’s absolutely a thrill coaster. It doesn’t have crazy intensity but there are some strong ejector moments (especially in the front row) and the 3 launches are good. Overall it’s a great ride. Easily my second favorite in the park behind Iron Gwazi.
That's what I always call it, a moderate thrill. That first launch out of the station, while only 30 mph, packs a punch and is intimidating for the gp waiting in the queue who have never ridden it. Also the drop from the windcatcher tower after the second launch is a pretty thrilling and underrated steep drop.
This made me less nervous for the ride since I am on line and get nervous for roller coasters since I have anxiety, and would have chickened out if I didn’t watch the video
This ride was so uncomfortable for me. Being 6'4" the restraints killed my shoulders. Had marks for a couple days. One of a few ride once and never again
I wouldn't exactly straight-up call it a family coaster, I think the more appropriate way to describe this coaster is a lower end thrill coaster- my reason to this is there are plenty of roller coasters that are not as tall as this, nor as fast- and yet are considered thrill coasters. The idea of a 12-story drop into a trench sounds more like a thrill of coaster in some aspects, but 12 stories is average/relatively smaller for a drop as well.
Hi Taylor love your videos I watch almost all of them but would you mind rendering/recording your povs in 60fps as it makes them a lot more pleasant to watch ❤❤
This ride desperately needs the new intamin restraints. I’m only 6’2” and they dig into my shoulders bad. I can’t imagine what it’d be like for people taller than me
Anyone know the reason for the support that doesn't actually connect to the track? Seems like its in too secluded of a spot in the park to be there for a decoration

id take this over trash kumba any day
@@fanta104 how is kumba trash?? It’s quite arguably the best B&M looper and is definitely the most intense

@fanta104 Its Not Rough Probably Smoother Then Montu It Just Has A Horrible Rattle Which Is Probably The Word You Were Looking For
I love the length of this ride, it definitely makes it more worth the average 1.5 hour wait everyday.
10 min wait durning school days
@@uujims3762 Really? That is actually surprising. That would mean all the other rides would have to be walk ons.
@@maxhagenauer24 Yeah, i just made a trip to Busch Gardens for the first time a few months ago. Was on a Tuesday. Almost everything was a walk on until around 3 pm.
When they are running 4 trains and loading both stations, the lines move much faster
Except guazi lol@@maxhagenauer24
This ride was great. One of those instant classics not because of its thrill but because of its pure fun factor. In my top 25 fs

For real. It's a great ride
Don't Think People Hate It
One of the best multi launch coasters ever:D
my first coaster with an inversion many years ago. 19 now and still love it to death. this is the one that got me hooked lol
Dang, the waters off again? The river was running last year. Probably doing maintenance, hopefully... Don't want it down for years again.
It was up only a couple months ago, so it shouldn’t be gone too long
Idk could just be an off season thing

Fantastic ride and I’ll not be taking any Cheetuh Hunt slander
I will always defend cheetah hunt. It's just pure bliss all the way through.
I love how you can hear the airtime at 1:17

What a weird ride. It seems like there's only like 2 or 3 actual 'elements' and a lot of nothing in between.
Good quality but these hypersmooth camera settings you have make the ride look very tame

Did I make up the part where I rode this and the cheetah at the park ran alongside the ride?
Camera does not do justice to how fast this actually goes
Agree
I went on it it is super fun!!!
Why is it when a big UA-camr does a pov of this ride the water effect are never on 😂
I'm glad Intamin learned from this mistake 🙂
So, is it a family coaster, or a tame thrill coaster?
I Think Family But Most Enthusiasts Say Tame Thrill
Yes
I kept my eyes closed lol 😆
Amazing ride the only problem is the insanely slow operations
Hot take: This ride has the second best drop in the park, behind Gwazi. Better than Montu and SheiKra's drop in my opinion
Maybe better than montu, but dive coasters always have the best drops (sometimes) but sheikra definitely does
This made me less nervous for the ride since I am on line and get nervous for roller coasters since I have anxiety, and would have chickened out if I didn’t watch the video
enjoy your ride!
The restraints on this ride are torture
Why don't they have the water anymore?
Honestly, Cheetah Hunt feels more like its built by Gerstulaur because of the U turns on the Windcatter Tower.
This ride was so uncomfortable for me. Being 6'4" the restraints killed my shoulders. Had marks for a couple days. One of a few ride once and never again
Intamin hates tall people. I feel your pain
love this ride, but the restraints absolutely murder my neck every time.

This is NOT a family coaster! 😂 Family coasters don't have inversions, bub.
@@detroitdiezel7856 Also the airtime, the launches have some force behind it, and the steep drop from the tower

The stacking💀
This coaster is just not the same when they turn the rolling water off at the S turns.
Which one is better Pantheon or Cheetah hunt?
Pantheon

Strange layout. Looks boring at times.
Anyone know the reason for the support that doesn't actually connect to the track? Seems like its in too secluded of a spot in the park to be there for a decoration
Just a design decision to make it look artsy
im sad that they turned off the water again
