‘Spaghettification’
I continue to play with Hyperlapse. This is where we shoot hundreds of images and then stitch them into a short video clip. In the case of drones though, everything changes and we are blessed to be able to add cinematography into the mix.
For you see; we now have very high quality cameras, that can friggin’ FLY.
This took about 100 hyperlapses to work up to, for me anyway and I’m still a beginer! Your experience may vary.
So what I’m doing is, starting at one location, then dropping in altitude and changing the focal point (yaw), then raising back up in altitude, while simultaneously covering nearly a half mile of linear airspace, next to major highwway. In Class B Controlled Airspace, in Zero Grid, in Restricted Airspace, while LE flies around me on their way back to base, several times.
In a densely populated urban environment.
In the dark, alone, on the side of the road.
What and absolutely exquisite privilege this IS.
All to make a 10 second video. Am I mad? I must be mustn't I?
My heart sings tonight for the first time in a minute. I had almost forgotten…
Still got some work to do on it, but man this is SO MUCH FUN! And, if you’re not getting paid for this s**t then you dam well better be having FUN!! Now go out and shoot!
