I always get a bit leery of amp demo's that sound THAT good. This sounds spectacular. The problem is that there's literally no other demo (UA-cam or otherwise) of this particular amp that sounds this good, in it's stock form. For that matter, there are several plexi's out there with well-known mod's that don't even sound this good. Congrats on whatever it is that you're doing.
Thank you so much! I think it's really easy to make this amp sound good, and I have seen videos of its' original form that do justice with this amp. I think the main difference is the genre and the style I play. Many people tend to play hendrix/classic rock on their demos, and my intention is to show how to use it for 80s style. Try search - plexi 1987x van halen settings for example, I am sure you will find more videos.
@@lironamsalem7149 Trust me….I’ve scoured the internet, given I’m trying to figure out my next amp. If I knew beyond a doubt I could get this tone, I’d buy one. I may go ahead and pick it up, and send it back if I don’t like it. That said, I’d love for you to send me a link of any other demo’s of this amp that you know of that sound this tight, crunchy, percussive, and mid-focused. Don’t know what pickup is in that Dinky…maybe that has a little something to do with it. I actually preferred it without the SD-1, as well. I think another big part of it is that, some of these guys are using way too much gain. You do a very good job of not going over-board with it. It keeps the tone articulate.
@@phillamoore157 Yeah that's the secret man - use the exact amount of gain you need. The pickup is very famous bro - seymour duncan jb. You can find this pickup installed on charvel/jackson guitars, for example charvel san dimas. This pickup is great for 80s tone, lots of midrange. check this: ua-cam.com/video/sB9HMSYQXGM/v-deo.html or ua-cam.com/video/lQ1YNMwpK0U/v-deo.html
@@lironamsalem7149 Yup...watched both those videos, and they're aren't as good, tight, mid-focused as yours. Euge, uses too much gain, notoriously (but, I love his playing). I completely agree with you. I think there's something about Jacksons/Charvels that have an incredibly clean, tight refined, punchy, mid-focused sound, that pairs well with Marshalls and Soldano's. It's not as simple as just throwing a a JB in the bridge, though. I could put one in the bridge of my strat, and not get the sound of a JB that's in a Charvel or Jackson. I'll forever scratch my head over that. Either there's something significant going on in the wiring of those, or not all JB's are created "equal". That said, if I could get THAT tone you're getting, I'll buy both tomorrow. This is absolutely perfect.
@@phillamoore157 I'm in the market for my next amp also. I feel the same as you about some of these video's. Ben Eller's channel does another demo on this amp cranked. But somehow I feel if I purchase this amp. I will never achieve this tone. I'm considering this amp or possibly a Friedman Smallbox to get that plexi sound at lower volume. I'm afraid I will be disappointed and have to send them back. I can't find a place near me that has stock. Only special order. So, just curious. Did you purchase one and are you pleased with the tones. Does the amp respond like what we hear in some of these video's.
@@lookmanostrings There is no need to jumper the channels. This amp has aggressive low end that sounds like aquarium. Scoop the bass and low end for 80s tone.

A perfectly well customized SD-1 (less bass-cut) does this job even better. Nevertheles a nice combination, no doubt. Also with a JCM800.
