One of my favorite video game songs of all time come from Ridge Racer 7. I had to have this game ever since I played the demo. I normally pay no attention to racing games, but the action of drifting lured me in. One of my favorite racers ever.

Yap. This and "mellow curves" feel like a starving pro jazz fusion group finally got a gig and went all out. Almost over the top for "just" a game. It's really worth studying as an amateur musician
@@johannesschmitz6370 Nakatsuru and Goto are masters at their craft, that's a fact. Nakatsuru in particular makes his compositions as if it's for a movie, it's insane. Always loved his work.
I beat all fourteen Ridge State Grands Prix within two to three days and jammed out to this during the staff roll before I going to bed last night after emerging victorious on good old Seaside Route 765.
Just finished the game in 2-3 days too, I was listening to this theme long time ago but didn’t know you had to wait to the end credits to hear this! Such a great song and game too. It’s been long time since I had fun playing singleplayer, as this game gets challenging when you go up in car classes.
Listening to music gives me some summer, beach and swimsuit vibes. I wish this game needs a remaster or Ridge Racer 8 for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Switch and PC.
The elegant japanese video game sound is a class of its own.

Just search it with these keywords: Acid Jazz, Funk, Progressive Jazz, Groove, Soul Jazz.. There are some many unknown musician play this kind of music. It's popular in 70's, 80's, 90's... It seems like this sound is the transition between Bossa Nova, Psychedelic Jazz, ambient to disco.. usually used for classical metropolis city nuance..
