I’ve been reading since the manga graphic novels came to America. This is serious business, especially because I’m in the evil shanks camp. After one piece ends, i doubt I’ll ever follow an anime this long ever again, but it’s like being in a secret club.
It's Actually Crazy. That Face he Made its like What the Helllllllll Is he Finna Gate Keep Like Kaido and Make Luffy have to go through him first

I feel like there's still a stark difference between Green Bull and Sakazuki, particularly in regards to how they treat the Celestial Dragons. Sakazuki doesn't care much for them even saying to leave them to their problems in this chapter; he seems to just find them annoying and does what they ask purely because it's his duty. Green Bull on the other hand says ""The Celestial Dragons are gods!!" before his dialogue about the Wano people not having rights. He seems like he either enjoys abusing his power, or is a total kiss ass for the Celestial Dragons. Sakazuki would try and kill the samurai for assisting pirates, no more. (at least imo)

I Agree, the impression I have a Sakazuki is he being "the law is the law" and would kill for "justice" and duty but that's about it. Green bull seems like a school bully becoming a cop and going on a power trip. I like hid fruit and design but the jury is still out about his character as a whole.

My thoughts exactly. Sakazuki may be a loyal war dog, but he's no fan of the Celestial Dragons. He was also pretty pissed off at the Five Elders for letting Doflamingo run rampant for so many years. Green Bull's reasoning reminds me of Charles Zi Britannia from Code Geass. He believes oppression is the natural order of things, and brings stability.

My favorite bit from the chapter is yasopp being absolutely terrified to see his son, while there were some pretty big bits, that part got me
The forest forest fruit might change the users personality depending on the season: spring = anything related happiness, summer = anything related to anger and cruelity, autumn = fear or a personality like fear, winter = a personality related to sadness. For example during the reverie it could have been spring which shows us the happy green bull talking with fujitora and right after the call with akainu it turned to summer showing the more cruel side of green bull or the fact that it was summer after the reverie but he is nice to akainu becauae he simps for akainu. Idk its a theory i thought of myself

Okay, here’s my theory about the reverie situation. The five elder stars or someone they sent on the order of Im to kill Vivi got interrupted by Cobra trying to save his daughter. Sabo noticed that it was weird for the wg to go against an allied nation so he decided to protect Vivi and they escaped together. Maybe she mentioned Luffy to really tie the two together. Sabo was in the right place at the right time to be framed for the murder with a motivation the public wouldn’t question.
Now the revolutionary army and Vivi are most likely heading towards Luffy to get some help to smack the wg. Perhaps a revolutionary knows about Luffy’s df and what it represents.
Now the only loose reverie thread is Bonnie. But most likely she’s with the revolutionaries.
When the gorosei go to meet shanks they speak about the kingdom that they class as the betrayer and that was cobras kingdom, so they was already planning on taking him and his kingdom out.. plus they say he didn’t notice anything did he, meaning they already put it into play..
I also think sabo will be getting help from luffys grand fleet. Don’t forget barto knows sabo is luffys brother, well now the whole world knows
Sabo was already at reveri that’s where he sees kuma, and luffy sabo ace we’re all free wills that always did what they wanted to do and they always are after freedom plus if they had the ability to help anyone that needed help they will help, so him seeing vivi getting hurt or whatever and intervened and helped her.. Plus if you remember oda said the fleet will do something that will cause waves through the world and I think that will be something to do with sabo, they’re about to do something wild.. as the fleet must have got the news about sabo from the paper and assumed luffy is going to go help his brother etc.. not knowing that they’re at wano and wano don’t receive any news about the outside world.. and I don’t think dragon has made any move yet.. but I think the revolutionary army everyone with sabo and kuma are going to meet up, brief find everything out and then plan to finally make their moves.. so after wano as luffy sails the sea to his finally few islands before one piece the revolutionary army will be causing havoc all over the world for the world government, all while the battle for the one piece happening simultaneously in the same moments with shanks bb luffy etc..
I still maintain, that the way Im seemed to have singled Vivi out of their four people of interest seems to have indicated, that unlike the rest they would have wanted her alive, making it equally likely that Vivi would have actually gotten captured behind the scenes.

The way Shanks told Beckmann that it's time to go get the One Piece kinda made it feel like he not only already knows what and where it is, but also that it requires a certain timing for it to be "used" (which we already know by Roger's words).
I really enjoy Greenbull so far, what sets him apart from even Sakazuki was his seeming devotion to the Celestial Dragons. Sakazuki believes in his own version of justice while Greenbull seems to actually believe in the divinity of his leaders. At least that's what i got from this short interaction

Yamato hits him with what looks like conquerors coating since her club has lightening following it and he just says “ow that’s some haki” he wasn’t visibly bleeding or even that scared or angry. More surprised they got haki of that level since I think king and queen don’t have it either.

Kizaru is neutral and treats it as a job
Fujitora goes with accountability to citizens and earning power with true justice
Ryo is intensely loyal to order and thinks a social hierarchy is essential to that and there being kings and peasants is essential to him
Akainu is very black and white and simply truly believes that disorder or rebellion is evil no matter the reason despite not liking celestials

I like how Liam says "rare expression" even though we have only seen Shanks have like 4 total expressions in the series
Yeah, but if 90% his expression is joy, and 8% of the time it's being drunk, the last 2% is still going to be rare for his character.
I would like to see Luffy, Shanks, and Buggy and all their crews just having a massive party sometime during the final arc, probably like after Luffy finds the One Piece or something

one thing i noticed about yamato and momo's face off against ryokugyuu is that yamato introduced herself as yamato, not oden like she usually does. which makes me believe she and luffy had the 'i want yamato not oden' talk already. And this is also in a way yamato accepting kaido, just like momo using kaidos boro breath
Note, Yamato once again is introduced as son tho, which I found interesting, since most people thought it was just son because Oden was a dude

@@PartTimeEuphoRia Well, Kaido probably wanted to raise Yamato as his son, so he continued to call Yamato son until Yamato referred that way to themselves as well. It's a common theme in stories, the father that did not want a daughter and raised his child as a man.
She’s also had years of conditioning cuz everyone called her kaidos son cuz kaido said at one point I think that he wanted a son but got a daughter. Idk tho. But I think she’s just kinda used to claiming son especially with the whole oden stuff. The thing I’m concerned about is what if the straw hats leave while she’s off fighting? That would suck ngl

I actually think that Shanks is doing this to encourage Luffy to surpass him and wants a worth it rival. Or he wants to show him a bigger secret in his fruit than he already knows because Luffy will surpass roger and he has well, quite a bit to achieve that.

I have really enjoyed watching your channel, and have appreciated that you release your chapter reviews on the official release date of the chapter. I'm watching this the day the chapter was officially released, but I'm disappointed that this video came out before the chapter did. The series has been on hiatus, so I kinda get the hype of reading the chapter early, and I can't fault you for it, but considering you are one of if not THE largest one piece youtuber, I appreciated your support of the official release. Watching this video it honestly just feels like a chapter review part 2, or I guess part 1 since this came out first. I guess keep up the good videos, but hopefully use your influence to increase support of the official manga.
I typed this out before the video was over, and you admitted this was such a dense chapter it took two videos lol I know you gotta keep up with your channels algoritm, but idk, this felt lame to read scans. Not what I came to the channel for. Obviously I am not the only person you make content for, but I can't be the only one who appreciates the official release chapter reviews.

My first impression of Shanks saying that he's going to claim the One Piece now was that he already knew where it is and how to get it, but for some reason he just hasn't until now. Everyone else I've seen discuss it seems to think it means he's just going to join the hunt, though.
EDIT: I read the spoilers after reading the chapter and I assume that's where people were getting the idea of Shanks joining the hunt rather than knowing where the One Piece is came from.
I think your first impression is right. Shanks 100% knows where it is and how to get it. He could have asked Raleigh at any time and found out everything (which is probably what he did). Timing was the only thing that stopped him for some reason.
I guess He didn't want to get there too soon.
Timing... more like he needs a scenario to happen, so let's speculate, if I recall Roger or Rayleigh say something like "we came too early". Shanks said to Whitebeard he gave his arm to 'the future', perhaps the fruit Luffy ate is an essential part of his plan and Shanks needed the fruit to be awakened... So why isn't he seeing Luffy now? It puts the breaks on my speculation. But either way the "reason" stopping Shanks from claiming the One Piece is no longer a reason.
So the only other reason I can speculate, why is Shanks at Wano if NOT to see Luffy? Could it be PLUTON? What other reason does he have to come here otherwise? With Kaido removed, Shanks can go and take Pluton without anyone getting in his way, could I be right?
@@CloudWalkBeta I was also thinking it was about being too early; or that along those same lines, there was no point in claiming the One Piece if certain conditions hadn't been fulfilled - e.g. Luffy's DF awakening or other events.
As for why Shanks is at Wano if he's not meeting Luffy. It seems like they don't expect to be in Wano for long if they're talking about quickly returning to deal with Bartolomeo, which makes me think they aren't there for Pluton because unless you know exactly where it is, you can't find it that easily. Also, my question is, even if they do know where it is, how would they get it out of Wano without being noticed?
I also assume that the Strawhats (or at least Robin) will want to take Pluton for themselves, so wouldn't they try to stop the Red Hair Pirates?
Shanks didn’t get to go the first time, but he likely knows that he needed to return in present day. Roger said they arrived too early and the next generation was gonna come.

The only two people I could ever see successfully “bite” both a Yonko level character and an Admiral would have be both Roger and Garp. So think Momo is in a class of feats with them 😂
After this chapter I realized that when Shanks told Luffy when he becomes a great pirate they would meet up again, Shanks knew when Luffy got to his level he would have to be obstacle in Luffy's way. Shanks now sees Luffy as an equal opponent and going to join the race again to test Luffy to see if he can surpass him, claim the one piece and become the Pirate King.
Bingo! Shanks is definitely not going to just hand Luffy the One Piece like some people have stated but Luffy will have to fight him for it. I can see the panel now…Shanks and the crew confront Luffy and when/if Luffy drops his guard, Shanks will strike him. The absolute shock on the fandoms face while reading Shanks say, “We may be friends but I’m still a Pirate. It’s your willing against mine.” Shanks is not evil but he has his own beliefs and goals of freedom through order and peace which juxtapose Luffy’s carefree approach to freedom. Shanks’s goals and aspirations have been slightly hinted at with the way in which he moves and operates. So the fight will be a win win for Shanks because he will genuinely be happy for Luffy if Luffy does win but he wouldn’t mind having the One Piece for himself either. Shank will still love and respect Luffy but he’s “still a pirate”.

I squealed like a little girl when I saw the Red Force haha and then even louder when he said it was time to go get the One Piece. The way he said it too had the energy of like "Oh let's go get that thing from the basement, eh? Man I can't wait!
I just still can't wrap my mind around Green Bull's character. The first time we saw him he came across as this chill, laid-back guy, laughing and taking it easy and even directly ignoring Sakazuki's order to throw Fujitora out of the Reverie. And now he shows up and turns out to be the exact opposite. Even his silhouette was so different.

I’d imagine because things have gotten more complicated after the whole Sabo incident now, as before things seemed more light but now with Sabo having escaped, two Yonkos being defeated, and now all this other stuff happening things are getting serious.

With everything going on I think alot of people have kinda forgotten that Green Bull isn't there because of orders given to him by the World Government but seemingly on his own accord. I wonder if that will play a part in creating a conflict between Green Bull, the World Government and Fujitora? Causing even more internal tension.

I took his statement about Bartolomeo as being, Bartolomeo attacked one of his islands in Luffy's name. If he were to meet on friendly terms with Luffy while Luffy's grand fleet is basically declaring war on him, it would be irresponsible of him as the protector of that Island.
At least Bart doesn't plunder but forcing people to get strawhat stickers

I take this to mean Shanks doesn't think Bart is actually under Luffy, and he's going to put a stop to what he sees as some pirates 1) fucking their territory and 2) besmirching Luffy's name/flag
@@benjabby i think if he didn't think there was some merit to Bartolomeo's claim, he would go have a talk with Luffy to ask some questions and settle things. That could go one of two ways:
1) Luffy tells Shanks that he never agreed to having a grand fleet and he's acting on his own.
2) Luffy acknowledges Bartolomeo as a member of his fleet, and he can either tell Bartolomeo to stop or Shanks will do it for him.
Either way, things aren't looking good for Bartolomeo. I'm sure Luffy isn't gonna go out of his way to meet with Bart in the middle of his adventure when he's so close to reaching his goal.
Its so much of a suprise to find out that Green Bulls fruit is now a logia.. I can see him maybe turning into vines to dodge like a in-between of Katakuri & a logia user like Akainu
It seems him being a logia he has vast control over his surroundings as he can simply teleport from trees to rocks in order to avoid opponents and ambush them, though the good old fire element would be a obvious give away on how he will be stopped

I think Shank believes that if he ever met Luffy, that would mean the end of Luffy's journey, and Shanks doesn't want to potential cut Luffy's growth short

You know the one thing on my mind after I read the chapter was how much training Momo has to undergo before fully mastering his DF, because the fight with Green Bull made me realize that if he knew what he was doing, a single Blast Breath attack would have crippled Green Bull.
My favorite thing about this chapter was that, despite all the info dumping and how hype everything was, there was not a single straw hat present outside of luffy in the Shanks flashback
After this chapter I feel like shanks has a different motivation then we think. Especially how it seems like he's trying to not see luffy and making excuses to not do so. I'm excited to see what happens
There really is a good chance that Bart sent Luffy and Shanks into a war with each other. I was never a fan of the shanks evil theory but now since shanks brought up Bart burning his flags and saying he has to do something about it. That can now back up shanks vs luffy. I hope shanks just helps luffy get to the one piece but who knows 😭 it would be refreshing to have a helpful yonko for luffy rather than another yonko he has to take down.
If I had to hazard a guess, they're gonna settle the Barto thing with a 'duel' then link up proper.

Liam, please, put the chapter numbers back in the thumbnail. I was a good minute in when I realised you were reviewing 1044 and not just doing a theory/speculation video. I normally wait for the official release, so a nice shiny number in the thumbnail background would really help. I know you don't think it's a "spoiler" because I don't have context, but it really did spoil my experience of the chapter.

Not sure about Final Fight of the Series but more so Final Fight for The Right to Obtain The One Piece.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he waits at the location of the Final Poneglyph or even Laugh Tale since he was on the crew that knew where it was. The Winner earns the Right to have The One Piece.

I feel like Luffy’s awakening is what triggered shanks going after the one piece. After all he was on roger’s ship when they got back from laugh tale and likely heard that the one piece was tied to joyboy and that roger was too early. He also more than likely knew what devil fruit he was stealing from cp9 so after luffy ate it he knew he’d need to wait a while until he awakened it. The picture of luffy in the news is clearly his awakening and so shanks decided to go after the one piece. More than likely he won’t meet luffy on wano because he needs Luffy’s awakening to happen on laugh tale in order to obtain the one piece so he’ll probably meet him there. Shanks isn’t evil but they may fight on laugh tale over who gets the one piece not as enemies but more so as rivals.
The bs thing is he didn't shadow luffy or with his men looking out for them whaeterv happens like the kind of dragon situation where they'll intervene if the strawhats are in bad shape.
Its illogical to think he just gave it because why not? Imagine if luffy died or captured.. What would he do?

There is something sinister about the way Ben Beckman looks at Shanks when he calls him at the end. Something that implies he’s the only one that he’s the only one in on Shanks’s secret. His tired and resigned expression shows that whatever Shanks is about to do may not be exactly evil but something that has kept him up at night for the past decade+.
I don't appreciate that there was no warning on this being about the new chapter, some of us wait until the official release.

Yeah, that pissed me off two days ago tbh. Had to click off immediately after being spoiled in the first few seconds of the vid. Shank's keeps acting very sketchy. Though I'd say it's very likely Shank's is playing both sides but not in a evil way. Instead brining world peace. I think Roger told Shank's important details on how to accomplish it.

Yup! I was once in the camp of Shanks being evil but the more and more I look into it the more I feel like that’s too easy. However, Shanks isn’t a good guy either because Oda would have no reason to keep his true motives hidden for this long. If Shanks was benevolent, Oda would have had other characters state this by now. Look at dragon, we know Dragon is decent because of his comrades and Allie’s and we still don’t know much about him. Shanks does care for Luffy but make no mistake, he wants the One Piece as well and wants Luffy to take it from him, if he can. If Luffy loses then hey, Shanks still has the One Piece regardless.

I think Yassop saying he wasn't ready to meet Ussop hints at the fact that Usopp himself isn't ready either. At the end, taking into account what all Straw hats did this arc it's fair to say that Ussop is far behind. Hopefully now it's time for some very needed character development.

This makes me feel like Shanks will be the last Villain. He knew what the fruit was and was gonna eat it. He knew that when Luffy ate it Shanks lost his chance to be joyboy. So he "made a bet on the future". If Shanks could fight cp0 then there's no way a seaking could take his arm. I thought this theory was bullshit until this chapter. The end will be Luffy vs shanks for the one piece, they might even team up to beat blackbeard

I believe shanks is evil why =at the beginning he told luffy that you won't become a pirate you are young but when he ate the fruit shanks changed his behavior towards luffy he suddenly tells him you can become a pirate when you grow up and come find me I believe it will kill him but he doesn't tell him he hides it.also the fight with mountain bandits I believe is acting in this time shanks laugh and play the bad boy=the cool 😎

I think most people didn’t realise that Momo didn’t use Blast Breath on purpose. He didn’t want the people of Wano to be scared of the horrors of Kaido again so he tries a different attempt. I really believe that he could do it but in that same panel the town was shown in the background with people still celebrating and a Blast Breath would surely be noticed by them.
