Does dying your disc affect its stability?

    I think the flight-changing factor in dyeing is the heat. To test that, you don't even have to dye the discs, just put them in water and boil them, I guess it will get softer and a bit more understable. Boiling might be a bit extreme, the point where the disc loses some stiffness is probably lower.

      I think you’re onto something here! This is what I have heard from having a bunch of discussions with dyers from this video. Maybe that will be my next test!

    Good video! Very informative 👍What about a process that uses a bit of acetone, like a glue bed?

      That’s a good question and I’d be lying if I said I had the answer for you. But that being said, I’ve had a lot of discussions with other dyers and all have pretty much said, if dying is done correctly, nothing should change stability-wise. Only way it would affect anything is if you are using some sort of heat and heat the disc too long.

    Would love to see that control disc beat in and dyed to compared to one of these dyed "like new" discs

      Yes! I’m curious about that now too. Maybe I’ll have to bag it for a bit and then get it dyed and see what happens!

    What’s your experience with dyed discs? Have you noticed any flight changes?
