This is a song that heals women who have been hurt and betrayed. It isn't supposed to be serious or a real threat, it's supposed to be funny like an ethereal irrational pain cry to let out the poison and then laugh about it. It's healing and funny because when women are hurt like this, when relationships end in a way that is painful and harmful instead of one that reflects respect for the other person, there's a feeling of helplessness and powerlessness. You end up feeling like the other person rejected everything that you are and all of your value as a woman. There's also a sense of snobbery where they're kind of saying to you I'm better than you, and you're so hideous I need you out of my space. It's very hurtful. So Catie plays on the idea that not only is she proving that she still has value as a woman in other people's eyes she also has the power to hurt you back just as disrespectfully. But that's why it's funny because she wouldn't do that, even though she probably could. The song is also written really really well where it sets you up to be this thing where you think she's being you know all serious and emotionally respectful and then she's like haha fooled you. Oftentimes the ghosting and severe cutting off of the relationship slashes deep wounds. It is the sharp contrast that creates these wounds. So what Katie is done here has given permission to women to be angry about this hurt. To voice this hurt out loud and show it to the world. This is how it feels to be broken up with in an extremely disrespectful way. Also it's kind of funny I mean nobody wants to think about the mom and how she's innocent, although she could have raised her boy better. It's not really supposed to be serious it's just supposed to be funny. Because this is exactly how you feel when somebody does this to you you're like this irrational kind of angry. Hell have no fury like a woman scorned you know? Catie just empowers women to feel and to say it out loud that's it. And that's a good thing
