One more thing to note about the 2023 Marucci BBCORs is that they now come in a 32.5” size as well as a 33.5” size. Pretty rad.

My son is a freshman in high school and loves this bat. He is not a power hitter (yet) but has hit warning track shots with this bat in high school. It may not have the absolute highest exit velo, but in game the ball flies off this bat. It is almost as easy to swing as the one piece, but has more thump. Awesome bat.
I know barrel profile is an over rated stat but I love when you compare barrel size and balance point on the fence. Just gives some more data other than "feel" when comparing bats. Keep up the great work. Vids just keep getting better and better. Also still hoping you do a review of the True Dynamic. Another bat that comes in 1/2 sizes.

This bat is insane, I think connect is better with both the 9 and the 10 for durrability and how its a hybrid (comp better interns of hitting). What length did you guys use in the vid?

As with all marucci's the vibration dampening will always mask the feedback on the swing so comparing hits without video playback is extremely difficult.
I can't say this enough. Barrel size DOESN'T matter on bbcors. The only place that barrel size matters performance wise is usssa baseball, softball, and wood (exclusively for weight distribution).
I haven't gotten my hands on it, but usually a bat with those characteristics (manageable swing weight, decent power ratio, good mishit performance and vibration dampening) become legendary bats. This might be marucci's era honestly

My sons Cat X Connect 31”/-5 was hot out of wrapper.
He has a 2022 31”/-8 Meta that took about a solid month to get broken in properly. Once it was broken in there was no problem putting it over 230’ fences.
The Cat X Connect right out of the wrapper was sending them over 230’ easily. Once it’s broken in I’d be surprised if there’s a bat out there that can touch it in -5.
My son(9u) has the cat x connect and he absolutely loves it.

@@Ivan-fb3cr yes. It is best practice to get it broken in with all USSSA bats. It may not be absolutely necessary with the hybrids like the catx connect, but when you shell out $400 for a bat I like to take precautions
Aluminum/ Metal bats are hot out of the wrapper. Not necessary to break in.

Thanks boys.. my kid was playing a 14u travel team last week and half the kids had this bat.. they weren’t that good so it was hard for me to tell how the bat was preforming .. my kid has the voodoo 1 2020 31” but since he’s grown 8 “ in a year and a half I’m look to upgrade to a 33”

My son just turned 13 and is not a big kid (5'2" 100 lbs). He currently hits a drop 8 but might be moving to a drop 5. I'm trying to decide between USSSA Cat 9 Connect and Composite. The composite seems like it has more pop, but I also know it needs broken in and is sensitive to low temps. We live in Pittsburgh and it gets pretty cold in the fall and early spring. Which do you think I should go with?

I have both (33 inches) and for me the connect swings a little bit lighter but they have similar power and sweet spot. it's mainly preference between the two

The Goods sounds like it'd be more my speed than the Cat X (either 1-piece of 2-piece), but in general, I REALLY don't like the idea of 2 piece bats. I'm not an overly wealthy man, and cannot afford to just throw money in the garbage on these super expensive bats that might break. Do they make a Goods 1-piece? Or is the Voodoo 1 their, like, equivalent to a Goods 1-piece? Just curious.
