I love how Odysseus persuades Circe to help by just going on and on about how much he loves his wife and is loyal to her. A rarity in Greek culture.
See Hamilton, this is someone who *could* say NO to it.
HAHAHAHH I swear, I was so afraid and having Hamilton flashbacks the first time i heard this song, but Ody show us the light
His eyes turning gold and he has literal puppet strings attached to him? Yes please.
Also: “But there’s no puppet here”
*My boy, you are the puppet*
But he was able to cut the strings before doing anything that he shouldn't because *PENELOPEEE~*
The most powerful and rare ability amongst the entire greek pantheon. Loyalty to one's partner.
This is more accurate than the amount of Affairs Zeus had over the years
Except in the original lore Ody un willingly had to sleep with Circe for a year before she turned his men back and let them escape 😅 same thing with Calypso , hence bro went atheist in the end and said F the Greek gods
@@togucvinw7 I was going to add the stipulation that _I Know,_ we all know, the original myth was different. For shits like you. But I was hoping noone on the internet would be annoying. Wild assumtion I know
@@togucvinw7 I mean he HAD to sleep with them so I would still say that he is loyal, would you really say that getting raped/coerced count as cheating.
i haven't seen someone use the final part of circe's side as her using her powers to send them to the underworld before. I really like that its a cool way of imagining it and makes sense. i was surprised to see the men turn back from pigs so early since i feel like most people turn them back when they come back in as backing vocals to the song but the way you did it was cool and i like that its different from others ive seen
I love it. It kinda shows how powerful circe really is and how Odysseus really needed that help from Hermes. Turning people to animals is nothing to her, but hitting that high note in tune with her sending them to the underworld was a great touch.
This song is getting the luck runs out treatment, we went from nothing at all to everyone deciding to animate it
Cause this song, and honestly everything from the circe saga, is great. I love seeing everyone giving their own little twists and turns, like the power and note hitting not from turning the men back, but actually opening the portal to the underworld for them. It's a great touch and emphasizes how powerful she is.
50/10 for including that in the actual poem circe was práctically a sugar mommy to the crew and sended them a favorable wind to go thru oceanus
Awed shock. Just . . . what? This was brilliant. Ody's eyes going yellow to show he's being influenced in addition to the puppet strings. The moonlight gorgeously contrasted with the firelight. The nods of understanding each other towards the end. Circe using a spell to transport them down to the Underworld. Brilliance. Sheer and utter brilliance.
Every time I hit 3:05 and the beat drops... I get goosebumps when the scene hits green with her power.... so much power
The puppet strings!? That is SUCH a cool touch! Fantastically done on the whole thing, as well. 💖
I love how you showed Circe sending them to the underworld. That’s something I haven’t seen depicted in any of the other animatics I’ve watched and it just fits so well!
I loved this. The way Circe was designed and I love how menacing but beautiful she looks. The necklace to signify she was in love at one point (like maybe gift from them… if someone could tell me who she was in love with that would be great because I’m too lazy to find out myself) was a nice touch too, especially with how soft she looked when looking at it and it being a contrast to her menacing look though out the beginning.
From what i understand she was in love with a mortal, a fisherman to be exact, and helped him become a god (albeit a minor one), the problem was when the man abandoned her and changed her for another nymph (who was said to be quite beautifull in contrast of Circe who had the blood of the god son Helios but was said to not have luster associated with him and was also by her mother compared to a lynx), she then out of jealousy cursed the nymph turning her into Scylla which is a monster with twelve heads that lives on a cliff blocking the path the opposite of charybdis, Scylla is one of the monster the Odyseuss actually fights in his travels. The biggest problem with Circe is that since she uses witchcraft and not godly powers the greater gods were afraid to what she could end up doing and/or achiving so they used that oportunity to confine her. They also forvade her parents from having other children because of that same reason.
@@mirandagarza2657 thank you so much! Now I know the backstory to both Circe and Scylla! (Who’s song I’m most excited for)
GODS I LOVE THIS FANDOM. THE ANIMATION,CHARACTER DESIN, SMALL DETAILS. ALL OF THEM WERE AWEESOME
I like how you made Circe immediately cast some kind of seduction spell on Odysseus.
That ending was beautiful, powerful, and gorgeous! I absolutely love the visuals as well as the storytelling that takes us from Circe's Palace to her actually helping them travel to the Underworld. I haven't seen this in an animatic before, and it really gave off an incredibly strong impression! Brilliantly done!
Honestly, just wanna say I do really appreciate this art style, very different from what I'm used to see from other, still amazing, Epic animatics.
With its sharp angles, well detailed eyes and even the hard lines marking the cheekbones it feels kind of Jojo-coded, or even Fist of the Northstar, and honestly it just looks good, somewhat under-used style nowadays.
I was like “omg how didn’t I see this before?“ then realized you just posted it 😂 your art style is SO GOOD im in love
SO MUCH TALENT, SOOO MUCH TALENT- fantastic work :D
OMG, I love this! I love the look of her constantly having strings around her and trying to connect them to Odysseus. I also love that I think this is the only one that shows her actually getting them to the Underworld, which isn't something a mortal should easily be able to find. Great job with this one!
Another really enjoyable animatic from you Pixel. Loved quite a few aspects of this with the strings and hypnosis effect Circe has on Odysseus, the Moonlit setting which is ironic given Circe is the daughter of Helios the Sun God who was another central character in the Odyssey, the tender cleavage nearly being on display, how Circe after the shift really feels like a mage confidante, and Circe's pendant containing a loved one.
The major highlight though was of course having Circe actually send Odysseus and his men to the Underworld, with her final belt backed by Odysseus's men. It combines the best parts of the song with gorgeus animations and with Odysseus and his men actually leaving the island.
Also just wanted to add I really do like your style combined with this Circe design. It reminds me of a late 90s anime style. Circe looks like she just walked right out of the Jugdral Fire Emblem games, like with Linoan in particular. I really dig it. Looking forward to your future animatics and hope the Epic community can find you to be a breakout new animator for the Thunder Saga.
Thank you so much for the kind words! ❤️ It’s funny you say 90s because I’d say I’m influenced by the modern castlevania which artistically is based off the older games. I do however really enjoy that older gothic anime type of vibe too. That and probably AOT but that’s newer.
This feels weird to say, but I'm glad so many people drew Circe reaching for a knife to kill Odysseus rather than actually forcing him to sleep with her. If she was serious about her proposition then that would've basically made her a rapist.
She's a Greek deity/immortal divine blooded witch, being a rapist is normal for their lot, that's not an issue at all character-wise, especially when we see Epic kept the SA vibe of Zeus.
Hell, it's not for nothing epic had to make the physical relationship not happens despite the Odyssey making it that Odysseus had to sleep with her.
@@sinjinreed2091 true, and it's why they changed it because for some reasons they didn't wanted her to be one.
Same for calypso, who's straight up one without wiggle room, even Homer wrote it
"unwilling lover alongside lover all too willing", that's the quote for Odysseus and her sleeping together.
this is 100% my favorite "there are other ways" animatic, very nice! congrats
I love EVERYTHING about how you drew Circe!
AHDHDTAGASJDJFHSAHDDJGKGKVJDSY WHAT I LOVE THIS DO MUCH THE PUPPET STRINGS AND CIRCE SENDING THEM TO THE UNDERWORLZ AT THE END AAAA
I love Circe's eyes being gold (also ty for the flash warning, a lot of people forget)
This is absolutely wonderful! I love your artstyle, it gives me 90’s anime vibes c: great job!
Wow... goosebumps!! Never have I had goosebumps listening to this song before, except for now that I saw your interpretion! You did an awesome job! More please!!!
you did amazing as always! i love how the tone change at the prophet is dead has the book slamming shut!
The way the colour changing when he talked about his wife is amazing 🎉
I love this art style!!!! You did such a good job!
I love your character designs omg
I love this, so beautifully made and so playful between the characters!
Heavenly ^^!
"There are other means of deceit"... now let me tell you how I want to help you 😂
Amazing work
Absolutely in love with this!! 😊
This is so awesome!!!
YOU ARE SO TALENTED.
This was so f*cking cool!!
This was so good!
Oh i like the way u imagined it here!!!
I got chills watching Circe attempt to seduce Odysseus. She scares me 😅
That line "But there's no puppet here"...I wonder if it was meant to imply Odysseus was technically choosing to allow her to have her way until his conscience would no longer allow it.
So cool!❤
TA PERFEITO
I mean this is the best way possible but i get telenovela vibes from your animatics. Not only that, it looks like i'm watching the odilyssey berserk version, berserk the tv series from the 90, idk if you know it, but yeah that.
Anyway me likes
I do know it! I’ve seen some of the movies though I haven’t watched the actual full show. Also thank you!!
love it
awesomeee
GAY FOR CIRCE :D
hermoso
What was she holding that green stuff
I'm guessing a plant or amulet or something to power the magic. In the original a lot of her power is in potions and such.
Thank you all so much for the love and support to this crazy gal in this little corner of the internet! It means so much to me. 🥰 Fun Fact: SPOILER slightly but when Ody comes back to his senses the puppet strings are broken by Penelope's motif. 💫
