- Sherman and Baron tackle the USA D-Day invasion map from Sir Hinkels Skirmish mappack for MoWAS 2. This mission was a lot harder than I expected it to be :o - also... Sherman and Baron are a buyable unit on this map :D - Mr. Sherman comes with a .50 cal and Mr. Baron comes with a shotgun - how freaking awesome is that?

The defences weren't as concentrated as many think alot of those Infantry died in the channel alot

Since I played Men of War and Men of War Red Tide, I've gained 7 pounds. Thanks to the game and lots of pizzas. Only exercise I did was my right hand and fingers. The game is so addictive. Also, your screen is different to my screen. Are there other variants of Men of War?

Ah, yes. Assault Squad. I purchased and played the game. It lags terribly in my computer, the same computer that I play MOW without problems. I returned the game after the first part because it is also got an awful graphics. Too much beige and brown landscape and a lot of contrast, whereas MOW and Red Tide is more colorful and natural.
Watching on D-Day, 71st anniversary, 2015! Hell yes!

well the fact that it's difficult to assault normandy is pretty true-to-life, after all the americans sent in wave after wave of infantry and eventually the germans just ran out of ammo since supplies were being sent to a different area because that's where the germans thought they would be invaded. there were a lot of other reasons why dday was a success for the allies (notably all of the panzer divisions were in the aforementioned location, and then when dday came, hitler was asleep and when he awoke and was told, he didn't believe it, it took him until the day after to finally react) had the panzer divisions followed general rundstedt's commands and had there been more MG ammunition, the germans would have had enough time to set up a proper counter attack and would have maybe even turned around the war.
couldnt have been waffen SS XD the 2 infantry divisions denfending the beaches on normandy where the 253nd InfanterieDivision and the 712 InfanterieDivision XD and btw it was extremely hard for the americans, one of the only reasons why the americans made is was becausr te germans were running extremely low on ammo

Michael Fazio I'm not sure if your referring to Omaha or not, but I think thats what this map is (loosely) based upon, so you should be, and in that case your mistaken. It was the 352nd infantry division defending the beaches at Omaha, and only around half of them were well trained combat veterans. So I wouldn't say the only reason the Americans made it was because the Germans were running low on ammunition. US forces that day also gave them a hell of an ass whupping, all advantages and disadvantages aside. You should do your homework.
steven martinez I'm not sure why he would be referring to the Canadians when we're talking about a map based upon Omaha beach which was taken by exclusively American forces. In fact the only beach the Canadians participated in was Juno beach, which was far less heavily defended.
Doogie H The A-20 Havocs and Thunderbolts pounded the shit out of them after the Naval Bombardments. It was still hell for the infantry but the Germans were weakened significantly by the bombardments

Cool. You guys should do one where one of you (or two) is defending and the other one attacks. That would be cool. I don't even if thats possible, but that would be cool.

Also...the moment you died as an Officer you are no longer able to control your men,you must give them all to the last remaining person who has their officer. You should make that a rule if you ever do this again :D

You guys were in a pretty precarious position when that halftrack rolled up on you guys with the triple a battery, especially since they were supported by other flak and MG assets in the rear, that alone could've easily pushed you back to the beach and allowed the germans to push infantry back up to their fortifications in the meantime if the AI had been any better.. I'm not sure why once you had a decent foothold on the right side, you didn't take out the relatively weak left pushing the bulk of your forces, leaving a contingent to keep the krauts busy on your right, and flanked the ever living shit out of those flak batteries in the rear, which would have provided you a perfect flanking position to take out that half track as well. You would've sustained quite a few casualties in doing so due to the defensive line behind the flak cannons but it would've gotten the job done. Just my two cents, I know hindsight is always 20/20.

Actually omaha beach stretched over 10 km (6 miles) and there are cliffs 30 metres high. The americans had to climb up the cliffs with ropes.

I read a lot of D-Day books and watched a lot of D-Day documentaries, so I know what I'm talking about.

What's the name of the mod?
You're problem is that the reason you were losing men was because you have poor strategy. You lay little to no covering fire whatsoever, and you relied to much on solo acts hoping that one guy would take out important areas . You were successful , but at the cost of multiple squads. Lay down a base of fire, gain fire superiority once you have that then maybe send one or two squads (if you have 1 or 2 squads) to envelop on the right or on the left or both at the same time . Timing is key, and also if you're trying to take out bunkers with grenades don't run in the middle of the road into their killbox like a dumbass . Take routes that give you cover, or defilade . You want to be able to see them and not them see you .

I don't know why man... but when I play this mission all my guys just die as soon as they hit the beach, I tried getting them in cover but it dosen't help at all... they seem to die even quicker I just feel like it's imposible...

game kinda boring with out a proper realism mod to go with it, hopefully the guy's who made dynamic campaign generator port there mod over, because the balance they made was pretty brilliant I still needed to tweak a few things but they got closer then any one else.
Is there any mods for the game to prevent the helmets from getting shot off? It's the one thing about this game that's always bothered me, as it just makes no sense.

when u were in the middle and getting pwned by flak and truck u shudda bought disposable, useless troops and then flanked the truck and flak and made them get distracted, then blitz the truck and flak with the trench troops.

Yes you just go to the multiplayer and select a skirmish map, this will allow you to to play against the CPU (AI)

The Shermanator ......I don't even know what that's suppose to mean.
All I'm saying is that it be a much more effective (& efficient) getting groups of guys the edge of the beach first thing off the Higgins boat than to select one guy & send him on his own deep inland. Would also make room for the other waves, so that your guys don't get all bunched up on the beach & would avoid situations were you have one lucky artillery or mortar round wiping out a whole bunch of your guys.
Also another example of effectiveness in groups is when your men were pinned down by the flack 38. If you had gotten the guys who were idle on the road (who later got wiped out by a Sd.Kfz. 251) & got them in the right side trench, it could've helped draw some of that 38. fire away from your men in the center flank & possibly made maneuvering & pushing up more easier.
Just some tactical constructive criticism.

Not sure if this was based off of Omaha but if it was then it was the United states who did the fighting, the other beaches where taken by UK and Canadian forces.

when I play a multiplayer campaign when I buy units or anything in the game it shares it with my partner and I would really like for it to not do this please help if you know how

Its just that when you and Baron are playing it never shares your guys units.
it does - it doesn't in multiplayer ;)
its insane how they didn't have ships that transported tanks or halftracks to the initial beach attack, they had shermans using hovercraft type skirts, most of them sank.

Think they where ment to deploy them 1 mile off but instead the US deployed them 3 miles off.
