As someone who is just starting out, I commend you on explaining the code and the reasoning behind it as you go. I do however get confused with the references in the code. I'm not sure if the code references "Field Names" from the database or "text boxes" in the form with similar names. I'd love to be able to download a simple form like this to dissect it. Or are they one in the same?
Nice video! I have a question. In my Student Table, I have StudentID and StudentName. In my Tramsaction table, I only have StudentID. When I turn the Transaction Table into a form and add a textbox for StudentName, can it still be filled in despite it not being on the actual Transaction table? I would very much appreciate your answer 🙏🏻
Hi there, thanks for the question and the answer is yes it can be filled even it is not part of the transaction table. Create an unbound textbox on the form first. You can use VBA recordset to dynamically change the name of the student in the text box that you will be adding.
