You could glue a metal ruler on top of the wooden rail for your sliding black stop and you have an incorporated measuring guide. Man I love this jig. I'll build one next weekend.
Glen ... bro, thanks for all your vids. New BIG HOUSE owner here and now have room to play with all my tools. Was in a townhouse before so no room for me to play with my toys. Your videos have inspired me to build build build. From your track saw video to your router table video to your LED project videos ... you are THE MAN. Thank you so much. I've been addicted to watching your videos numerous times. Hope you are still at least watching your comments and seeing all the praise you are getting for your skills/talents/enjoyment of the craft videos. Stay safe.
I think it’s great how you build combos. I’m female, wimpy with limited strength, funds, and medical issues, but having my heart set on fixing a lot of stuff at home, no matter how long it takes me. So I will be sure to watch your videos one by one. Tools are my friend, one thing I inherited from my late father, who always got lost in the tool section of the stores. I do that too, lol. Thanks for the great ideas.
Brilliant!! A upside down saw-table/cross cut jig/miter-saw in one. Instead of moving the material over the saw just push your saw true/over the material. The nice thing is you can adapt the height to what you need. Finished! The saw on the shelf again and the table/jig against the wall/ shelf/ hooks on the wall. I see tons of possibility for this.
Thank you Sir! This series is probably the best ever guide there is out there. Very neatly put, keeps me glued to the screen. Somehow things are not too fast and not annoyingly slow. Your comments are the most appropriate with economy of words. You, Sir, are one of the most unassuming persons I have had the fortune of viewing! Great going!
This is by far the best most useful jig I've seen so far for a circular saw. Great design and it works well too I just added a tape on the fence. Really shows how versatile a circular saw can be used, while adding safety and precision. Two thumbs up
Subscribed! Gotta love an honest to goodness person, able to admit a goof and tells us, rather than edit it out and not mention it. If you came up with this idea, man you have an amazing brain! Thank you for sharing, speaking clearly, no obnoxious music, and providing great camera angles. I think I'll be browsing your channel for a while, as you have wonderful designs for the normal guy, not using tools we don't have or using the tool were trying to replicate to build it's replacement. Thank you sir.
I was torn between getting a miter saw and a circular saw for a few small projects. The miter would be very convenient for quick and accurate repeat cross cuts but it was too expensive. Ended up getting the circular saw to save money and also because it has many more uses especially ripping and cutting long boards. But now that I found your video, I'm glad I got the circular saw! Thx!
I tried to build the max cut 2 with some scrap wood, but I did it in a hurry and now my cuts aren't completely square. Hope to fix it up this weekend. I'm a beginner and just purchased my first circular saw, was a bit too eager to get a project going. Instead of cutting 2 pieces for the track base, i used one piece and cut a hole using the circular saw, this helped with getting the guard out the way when making cuts. Now i just need to make it square (hopefully not a painful task) and i'll share a pic with you. Thanks again and looking forward to more limited tools series.
Nice design. Has elements of a panel saw and a table saw sled. I like the gauge stop as if you need to make an exact cut you can use the actual piece to set the fence. This would be a great jig to build to haul to jobsites. It'll handle allot of small stuff on site that is typically difficult or dangerous and all without hauling larger machines. Very nice.
Dude you have no idea the problem you just solved for me. Was saving up to buy my Dewalt Mitre saw (still gonna get one) just now I don't have to wait. Love the clarity and the fact you are to the point. Really appreciate it. I am SUBBING!!!!
That's great! I think I'll be building one of these - I don't have the budget for a good table saw, and didn't want a crappy one. I already have a circular saw and enough scraps to make the jig.
Exactly what I have been looking for! I use a cordless circular saw and I live in a small apartment with only a tiny room as a workshop. I have been thinking about how to build an inverted table saw so I don't have to buy another circular saw to permanently install into a typical DIY table saw. This is just awesome! Looking forward to the build video. Thank you!
That's one of those, "why didn't I think of that?" Jigs! I'm so glad to see you sharing what you do. It sure helps people who don't have the capital to spend on equipment! I hope you will continue adding to this series!.
Thanks for this great series on limited tools. I am writing from Guatemala where I just finished two bunk beds for my wife's cousin. The only power tools I had were a circular saw, and two corded drills. I will try to tag you in a couple of Instagram posts so that you can see some pictures. Thanks for you all your work. Your MAX CUT 2 was invaluable.
This is the best Circ Saw Jigs I have seen. I am going to build myself one of these and set it up to mount to my workmate bench. I have a small space in a single car garage for my tools so I can't buy larger items.
I build my yesterday and I am happy with it, is very useful for me, since I don't have a table saw, i am looking forward to building the table saw as well, thank you and keep us inspired to build.
Great vid. There's a way to make it zero clearance too, so as to reduce/prevent tearout. Slot the fixings on the top and bottom rails to allow height adjust, and narrow the blade slot. That's what I did. You can have that idea for free! Good luck!
Well done! And with the track hovering at a fixed height, you can always have the circular saw set to the deepest cut. If the track was directly on the workpiece, you would have to fiddle with the height of the saw. I need to build one with a size that makes it cut cabinet sized panels. I have a miter saw, but it's really big and heavy and takes up alot of space, plus it doesn't cut panels. This seems like a really good - and event better - alternative. Thanks!
chaba72 I'm guessing that they can't deal with someone of color building stuff. Especially things like this that are awesome especially for me since I'm a beginner with wood. Thank you for your time and great explanations
Very practical and economical, great helper in my floor installation, every mitter cut and adjustment, your video had help me greatly and saved me money and most important its that I've got to keep it in my arsenal ready to go,thank you. Thanks
Nicely done! I'm 63-year-old guy with a garage full of tools. Nevertheless, I really appreciate the tool you built and I will be building one very soon myself. It's creative, clean and well thought out! I just became a subscriber!
This is actually one of the better Jigs I have seen. I was about to make a table saw but, I think it is overkill for me right now as I am just starting out. seen a few of this guys video and he is very detailed with his work. I have subscribed as a new amateur wood worker I love this idea.
Wow- This looks like a simple replacement for most of my needs for sawing. I have a miter saw, but want to cut longer boards; and by making the miter block to pivot in the center of the saw path, you could cut almost any angle from a couple degrees 90 degrees. Gotta try that one soon!
Allan McLean I was thinking that too. I would add a 90 compass to the corner, a clamping pivot close to the edge of the corner, and cut out a track along the edge of the compass for the miter block to slide and lock down. If I wanted to get even fancier, I would make the compass into its own separate jig that could slide up and down to accommodate different sizes of wood. One last modification, I would get rid of the lip on the saw side of the rig to allow for really long pieces of wood. It would be easy enough to add a ruler along the table edge and use a stop block from there, just tightening from the bottom rather than the side.
Hmmm great idea! I may add a metal yardstick and flush mount (router the surface) at the end to see measurements and insert metal protractor to add the ability for multiple angle cuts :) thanks for the ideas man! Keep em coming! :)
Wow! Just what I was looking for. I don't have room for a table saw or a mitre saw. I was looking for a way to cross cut and also rip cut thin pieces of wood using a circular saw. This will definitely do the job. Thanks for the video. It would be great though if you could do a video on how exactly you built it. That would be awesome.
This is great! I like your stopblock and will be making it. One suggestion is to make the long arm that goes under the bridge portion a little higher (1/16 or a bit more) than the cutting surface. That way you won't have sawdust buildup throwing off your cuts.
I've seen a lot of your videos (12ish). I knew one day you'd make one that was below par. Still hasn't happened! How do you do it? Every single time, I learn something and enjoy it! Dude. DUDE! You're the best!
You are a legend! If you had been my woodwork teacher i wouldd have been a shipright. Unfortunately my teacher died and his replacement knew nothing. Anyhow too late for me I'm retired now.
I've been designing almost exactly this jig in my head the last couple weeks, and here it is in completed form with only a couple changes from how I had it envisioned. Great minds think alike! Subbing because awesome.
that is an great jig. the best part is it's mobile to any work site and replaces most portable table saws for on site work. the miter arm is movable to any degree needed. just install one screw on the end of the arm and move the arm to the degree needed and lock it down. I might get rid of my table saw.
Hi Glen, I'm new to woodworking and I understand the value and capacity of building jigs for various purposes and this creation of yours is going to be one of my first projects....thank you, it's a great idea. Best Wishes Always.
If you widened the slot for the saw blade and made something for your router to be attached to that would fit into the sled it could be used for more than just circular saw cuts.
You could glue a metal ruler on top of the wooden rail for your sliding black stop and you have an incorporated measuring guide. Man I love this jig. I'll build one next weekend.

I love it. Tackling a shelving project, and also making all new baseboards for the bathrooms...this jig is perfect!
This is by far the best most useful jig I've seen so far for a circular saw. Great design and it works well too I just added a tape on the fence. Really shows how versatile a circular saw can be used, while adding safety and precision. Two thumbs up

Thank you, for the kind comment. Hope to see you are.
This the best jig I have ever seen!!
This is an excellent DIY tool for those of us who are just starting out, have limited tools, and limited space. Thank you!

What a great jig, table saw and mitre saw in the one
+Cameron Anderson
Thank you
Thanks a lot. I just bought a circular saw and this is the best jig.
What a simple but wonderful jig!
Thank you for all your video's ....great ideas and you speak clearly without any other nonsense.
love the simplicity of that stop block. totally going to make that for my miter saw table.
Nice design. Has elements of a panel saw and a table saw sled. I like the gauge stop as if you need to make an exact cut you can use the actual piece to set the fence. I just found this video, and this is ridiculously brilliant
I always have new woodworkers asking what tool to buy and a circular saw is tops on the list. Very Vestal especially with a jig like this.
That's one of those, "why didn't I think of that?" Jigs! I'm so glad to see you sharing what you do. It sure helps people who don't have the capital to spend on equipment! I hope you will continue adding to this series!.
Getting started is really costly, this jig is awesome for the workshop but most importantly: Awesome for the pocket.... Great video....
man I know the video is old but thank you for it, thank you for your clean work ..
Best jig I have seen on the UA-cam
Thanks for this great series on limited tools. I am writing from Guatemala where I just finished two bunk beds for my wife's cousin. Your welcome I think this will be very helpful for you. Thanks for watching.
I never leave comments but I just have to say THANK YOU!!! This is such a life saver!!!
I sincerely appreciate all your videos!!
great idea tackles a lot of short cut off problems and big safety concerns.
Thanks Brian I agree.
Just used my version of the max cut. No tablesaw or miter saw, I love this thing. Replacing all my deck boards right now with a circ saw, and drills
It's a very good idea...simple, accurate, and versatile. One word...bravo
Thank you :)
This is the best Circ Saw Jigs I have seen. I am going to build myself one of these and set it up to mount to my workmate bench. I have a small space in a single car garage for my tools so I can't buy larger items.
Brilliant!!! Something a DIY'er can do.
I build my yesterday and I am happy with it, is very useful for me, since I don't have a table saw, i am looking forward to building the table saw as well, thank you and keep us inspired to build.
well done, I plan to build some cabinets for a camper conversion van and this will be a life saver
Thank you Glenn ! Great idea. You inspire me a lot with your works. BRAVO!
Great vid. There's a way to make it zero clearance too, so as to reduce/prevent tearout. Slot the fixings on the top and bottom rails to allow height adjust, and narrow the blade slot. That's what I did. You can have that idea for free! Good luck!
Well done! Building one for my workbench today!
Very good design and nicely done. And functional for sure...
awesome job very simple but very functional
Be interesting to see a 5 cut test results using this jig
Thank you for posting. Very simple and very useful.
Dude, that’s slicker than owl 🦉 snot!
Genius! Never seen anything like it.
I can''t tell you how happy I am with this video
Thanks for doing this series.

i am very impressed with what you've just built. nice job bro.
why would anyone thumb down a video like this? the build was very well put together, and the overview was nice.
Thank you.
No idea.. i love all the videos you make.. the only thing i would suggest is a more detailed materials list for us newbies. Otherwise great job Glen!
Yeah makes no sense this video is great as is part 1 ...Some people are just sad F's :) .. Loved it DIY creators Thxs
This series is so great. Thumbs down people probably have zero pride in their own work!
chaba72 I'm guessing that they can't deal with someone of color building stuff. Especially things like this that are awesome especially for me since I'm a beginner with wood. Thank you for your time and great explanations
J'ai terminé ma Circular Saw Crosscut & Miter Jig hier et elle est plus précise que ma scie à onglet. Merci :-)
love your eyes. also love the simplicity of the jig. great build.
Very practical and economical, great helper in my floor installation, every mitter cut and adjustment, your video had help me greatly and saved me money and most important its that I've got to keep it in my arsenal ready to go,thank you. Thanks
What a brilliant idea. Will be in my workshop tomorrow to make one .Good luck from Ireland
ilove this video my son is a beginer thank you
really nice job! You could even make the track to accommodate a router which could be then used to flatten rough boards.
the stop block measurement is great, I'm gonna add it to the previous circular saw crosscut jig !
Nice! :)
Very clever solution. Thank for sharing!!!
Nicely done! I'm 63-year-old guy with a garage full of tools. Nevertheless, I really appreciate the tool you built and I will be building one very soon myself. It's creative, clean and well thought out! I just became a subscriber!
I am 65 year old guy with a small workshop I m very much interested such Type of one made Machine. Thank you
Show ... super safe and efficient ... Thank you !
What a great video!! Get that build video out asap!! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you and your welcome
More like UN-limited tools. Wow. Best idea I've seen for a circular saw. Might want to patent this one.
Thank you. Yes this one should be very helpful.I wish I could.

great jig Definitely gonna build this Thanks man
cool it's like a table saw sled without the table saw
Very thoroughly explained.

That is a very good idea. bye bye table saw. were going circular saw now.
This is amazing!
I don't really have space for a table saw, and even though I have a mitre saw, this would make certain cuts way easier!
The Common Wizard of Oz lizquen
I definitely want to build my own. Love this jig!
This is a crazy awesome jig! Love it!
Thanks man!
Miracalus
I need a jig like this for cutting plywood. Thanks This has helped me a lot.
yep...........will use this jig a lot. thanks DIY
I've been designing almost exactly this jig in my head the last couple weeks, and here it is in completed form with only a couple changes from how I had it envisioned. Great minds think alike! Subbing because awesome.
good concise video-to the point, welldone.
Excellent!! Thanks for sharing this!
I love your work a lot glen
looking forward to the build, outstanding design!
Brilliant miter station Glen!
Thanks Bud!

OK. Let's not get carried away! :-)
Great jig gotta add to my list of wants. Thanx 4 sharing Glen
I really like this design.
Your videos are the best...awesome jig!
Great idea

That's awesome. Being new to woodworking this will be great for you.
You are genius bro. Thanks
If you added a mitre slot you could use a mitre gauge for angled cuts.
Wow! Thanks a lot man! This is very helpful, from Philippines
If you widened the slot for the saw blade and made something for your router to be attached to that would fit into the sled it could be used for more than just circular saw cuts.
