I met him a few days before he passed at Walmart on Hegenberger and told him how his music inspired me to study Islam. I swear he was so happy. He told me he wanted to do more right things to help people, he was just going through things like the rest of us. I pray God is pleased with our brother. One of my heroes

+Farrakhan Muhammad sounds about right. the J was a super friendly & approachable dude. I met him and first thing he asked was it if rap. Hes like we need a 16 for this song. theres no doubt in my mind if I rapped, Jack would have thru me a line and put me on. for nothing. all cuz I had weed and was acting like a fanboy happy to smoke with him. seen him a bunch more times after and he always remembered & showed me love. im just a regular working nigga nothing speial. made me feel a certain way to get shown that much respect by a man I admire so much

R.I.P. to the Jacka. I been a fan since C-BO-TIL MY CASKET DROPS album. I got all his solo albums and before I even heard about his death I was bumping his music on a regular cause it has longevity. I hope his family is supported well and continue to push on strong.

I went to that spot right after it happened. There was only 4 or 5 candles by the time I got there. Bruh's music really touched me and got me through the hardest part of my life. I felt his verses like he was spitting about my life, my hardships, my highs, my lows. Everyone out here listening to some bullshit nowadays but I'm still out here in my old school still slapping the one & only J.A.!!! Every damn day!!

I got introduced to his music because he would say some real spiritual Islamic stuff in his verses in the middle of rythming about some real street shyt. It was not no gimmick. If you are a Muslim you could feel the brother was real about his faith.so I started googling his music.Thats how I got introduced to his music. You could feel he is a real good dude and a good true Muslim.RIP. May Allah have mercy on your soul.

Even though I never met you Jack, (being from Milwaukee, so many miles away) I looked up to you and embaraced your music. You seemed like a humble dude, and I wrote you on instagram last summer wishing you a happy Ramadan and you immediately responded with love man. Even Husalah DM'ed me outta nowhere too, I was so happy haha. I wanted to help you, your record label and other fellow rappers in Bay with graphics. You said we can work something out. I wished I could've done some pieces for you man, it would've been an honor. Your death was something I did not expect to happen at all. The music you put out, and the hard work you've done made it seem you were immortal, but every soul shall taste death as Allah says. May Allah have mercy on you and grant you Jannah. Hopefully we can meet there, InshaAllah.

I used to live on the 700 block from the 70's to 1998( joined the military), 77th and Green side. Deep east Oakland CA. Arroyo park was literally across the street from my home. The same old shit continues to go down. I have major kinfolk's that lived on 94th and birch. I went to Castlemont, Webster and frick.
I guess this is just town biz SMDH
It's the same BS mentality from the 80-90's when the crack epidemic took over. I go back a lot because I own section 8 property in Stockton and Sac( Sacramento) CA.
I have friends in their 40's that act like these youngsters. It's backwards but for every action is a reaction and the cats wonder why the black and Hispanic brothers kill each other left and right smh.
Town love always. Never forgot where I came from but the world is bigger than the block kinfolk's.

Tone B Sheesh you was there when 77th and GREENSIDE was going crazy, Oakland kind of calm now but the mentality is still there. Still got that chip on our shoulders......RESPECT BROTHA. Thank you for your service

    • @ToneB

      Oakland Did It
Thank you kinfolk. The best education I received was from those deep east Oakland streets and from Cal Berkeley.
The town has changed but I still love my folks. Buy as much real estate as you can in Oakland and the yay area. The professionals want Oakland back. My brother in law moved to Belize and sold his home in piedmont for 900k.
      Just sharing

I think what made jack loved by the street. Was that he was very unique rapper and touched every hood world To the brum uk Africa to Canada back to the bay. Wasn’t the popularist rapper in the mainstream but had bare love and respect from the underground worldwide. He was modern day Malcom x. He should be in the Guineas book of records for having most tributes. Every hood worldwide! gave thebrother a moment of silence for respect. They will never be another j a.! Im lost why would you make a tribute film to Jacka and use Meek mill music as the intro? This is the perfect oppurtunity to introduce Jacka music to the viewer. Just a thought. This was edited very nicely. A lot of cleanm exclusive footage. I feel like i didnt get the understanding on what made him so important. Good film tho.

***** OK. Unfortunately I never heard of him until his demise. So I watched this to get a clear understanding on what made him so beloved.

TooRealForTV Jacka was a real nigga. Extremely loyal to his people. Extremely humble. Would give the brand new shoes off his feet to the homeless. (He's done it before) like many others have said, he put on alot if his friends and never expected anything in return..u wanna know about jack? Listen to his words in his songs...especially is recent songs..try "never forget jack" by jacka..dude was just a very likeable guy. Real nigga.
