I love these talks you give. I learn so much. I just joined the church in November and I'm learning the Book of Mormon for the first time. I always watch you before I read the scripture because it makes me see it in an additional perspective of persons who know the gospel well. Thank you so much.
Thank you all so much for what you do, this Sunday I spent studying this lesson with my mother after many years of being inactive in the church, this lesson hit my heart especially because I'm am currently getting things ready to turn myself back into prison,after years of running, this lesson solidified in me that my choice to leave things in my heavenly fathers hands, and have faith was the correct one, I will face good few years in prison again, but I no longer want to procrastinate the day of my repantance........I am scared but I have faith, I will come back home, and be able to live the life my heavenly father has always wanted for me. I know family's to be eternal and I know that everything in the book of Mormon is true, along with the bible these scriptures can help us grow and become better men/women. Thank you

While our country New Zealand has been in tight lock down we have thoroughly enjoyed joining your lessons each Sunday. Going back to our regular routine at church won't be the same. We have decided to continue to follow your lessons each Sunday for as long as you continue to give such insightful lessons. We had several single older sisters who were also able to join us and they loved been able to see outside their small thinking squares which they found them selves while having to study alone. One of the sisters in our ward has a son who is schizophrenic. He is on a medicine that really horribly affects him mentally. One day he said to his mother, "Mom, I just can't do this, it is just too hard for me!" That night, he had a dream. He dreamed that he was carrying a huge heavy rock. It was so heavy that he wanted just to throw it down. Then, suddenly, he looked up and saw the Savior. The Savior smiled and asked him to turn the rock over. The young man did, and all of a sudden he could see that the rock was made of pure gold! "The trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth...(I Peter) Love your videos!

Love this lesson of explanations. As I read 'The Restoration of the Fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ' to my not-a-member-yet husband he looked perplexed and said you guys have not read the bible if you think God the Father and Jesus Christ are not the one person! What about the Spirit-the Holy Ghost? I told him to keep listening and we got to the second verse and the third and continued on so that again I informed him that Joseph Smith had a vision and saw the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. He walked away absorbing that. There are so many aids in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Thank you for your strong contributions.
I have decided I trust the Lord in my trails! Narcolepsy, and about four different neuro things, either combined adhd or SCT, Autism, no episodic memory, aphantasia, and I will take it all. Plus many others but it's made me who I am!

I love the parable of defferent crosses,.....it enlightens me!.. sometimes we thought that our trials is too much for us, and sometims we compare our trials to others,.....but we don't understand that our heavenly father knows our capacity which trial we could handle!.....he knows us!.... from now on I will not compare my trials to others,..i will accept it and keep on praying!....love you guys!.....I learned a lot from this lesson!....stay safe always and families!❤️

Oh my! Each section I study-I learn so much more!!! Alma 13:1-4! Now when I look at my journey so far in this life, I see what I was prepared to do: find the gospel of Jesus Christ, gain a testimony, be baptized, serve a mission, finding my ancestors to do their work, travel and live in various places in this great country as the Lord directed me to, marry in the temple, serve in the temple, strive to 'never give up' through the many challenges and pains of this life! Now I see what I have yet to accomplish when I study my Patriarchal Blessing; NOT what I have NOT done! Taylor- you are from Minnesota! So is my 'best friend, my husband'! I traveled this country for many years until I was ready to be sent to Minnesota to meet him and travel through the many challenge and joys we have and are experiencing! I love the gospel of Jesus Christ! Thank you for sharing your insights and testimonies!
I love these insights. We all have our crosses or burdens to bear but with Christ we are able to bear them. Serving others is a way to lighten our burdens too. Thank you for teaching each week. I think Alma and Amulek were the greatest missionaries in the Book of Mormon along with the sons of Mosiah.

Mark Huber I see Alma 13 as a description of the “Oath and Covenant of the Priesthood”. Alma says in verses 1-2 that it is the responsibility of those who bear the priesthood to “…teach these things unto the people. And those priests were ordained after the order of his Son, in a manner that thereby the people might know in what manner to look forward to his Son for redemption.” D&C 84:19-21 “(19) And this greater priesthood administereth the gospel and holdeth the key of the mysteries of the kingdom, even the key of the knowledge of God. (20) Therefore, in the ordinances thereof, the power of godliness is manifest. (21) And without the ordinances thereof, and the authority of the priesthood, the power of godliness is not manifest unto men in the flesh. Ordinances are the means whereby we covenant, and it is in the obedience of these covenants that enables the Atonement to be active in our lives or to “look forward to his Son for redemption”. In other words, the priesthood is to teach the gospel and to administer the ordinances; and that is what we covenant to do when we are ordained to the priesthood (The Oath & Covenant of the Priesthood). Also these same principles are taught in the “Abrahamic Covenant” as recorded in Abraham 2:11 “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee; and in thee (that is, in thy Priesthood) and in thy seed (that is, thy Priesthood), for I give unto thee a promise that this right shall continue in thee, and in thy seed after thee (that is to say, the literal seed, or the seed of the body) shall all the families of the earth be blessed, even with the blessings of the Gospel, which are the blessings of salvation, even of life eternal.” Those persons who are of the literal seed of Abraham’s body (Israelites) who bear the priesthood will bless all the families of the earth with the Gospel. Those blessings are the Saving Ordinances (The Oath & Covenant of the Priesthood).

Do you ever stop and think that among those women. & children cast into the flames - that some might have been members of Amuleck's own immediate family- perhaps his own wife and children? And that Amulek had to watch their suffering 😢 It says in Alma 15:16 that Amulek was "rejected by... friends and also by his father and his kindred". That last word could be siblings and other extended family members - not necessarily his own wife & children. Believe this is one reason why in Alma 15:18 (after they were in the land of Sidom) that Alma took Amulek to his own home in Zarahemla "and did administer until him in his tribulations". Love how Alma ministers to his dear friend who was suffering.
Your insights add so much to my daily study of the Book of Mormon. This week, the contrast and comparison of Alma 13 & Alma 14 were especially helpful and strengthening to my faith! Oh my! Each section I study-I learn so much more!!! Alma 13:1-4! Now when I look at my journey so far in this life, I see what I was prepared to do: find the gospel of Jesus Christ, gain a testimony, be baptized, serve a mission, finding my ancestors to do their work, travel and live in various places in this great country as the Lord directed me to, marry in the temple, serve in the temple, strive to 'never give up' through the many challenges and pains of this life! Now I see what I have yet to accomplish when I study my Patriarchal Blessing; NOT what I have NOT done! Taylor- you are from Minnesota! So is my 'best friend, my husband'! I traveled this country for many years until I was ready to be sent to Minnesota to meet him and travel through the many challenge and joys we have and are experiencing! I love the gospel of Jesus Christ! Thank you for sharing your insights and testimonies!

I love these insights. We all have our crosses or burdens to bear but with Christ we are able to bear them. Serving others is a way to lighten our burdens too. Thank you for teaching each week. I think Alma and Amulek were the greatest missionaries in the Book of Mormon along with the sons of Mosiah.

Funny how things do not change over the time and how we can really apply the Book of Mormon to our lives. It is very actual. Read it, watch the news and things have not changed so much. Actually, we see the secret combinations in full action all over the world. Only their names have change, not their practices... We also see the Church of Jesus Christ acting the opposite. Take care!

I see Alma 13 as a description of the “Oath and Covenant of the Priesthood”. Alma says in verses 1-2 that it is the responsibility of those who bear the priesthood to “…teach these things unto the people. And those priests were ordained after the order of his Son, in a manner that thereby the people might know in what manner to look forward to his Son for redemption.” D&C 84:19-21 “(19) And this greater priesthood administereth the gospel and holdeth the key of the mysteries of the kingdom, even the key of the knowledge of God. (20) Therefore, in the ordinances thereof, the power of godliness is manifest. (21) And without the ordinances thereof, and the authority of the priesthood, the power of godliness is not manifest unto men in the flesh.
Ordinances are the means whereby we covenant, and it is in the obedience of these covenants that enables the Atonement to be active in our lives or to “look forward to his Son for redemption”.
In other words, the priesthood is to teach the gospel and to administer the ordinances; and that is what we covenant to do when we are ordained to the priesthood (The Oath & Covenant of the Priesthood).
Also these same principles are taught in the “Abrahamic Covenant” as recorded in Abraham 2:11 “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee; and in thee (that is, in thy Priesthood) and in thy seed (that is, thy Priesthood), for I give unto thee a promise that this right shall continue in thee, and in thy seed after thee (that is to say, the literal seed, or the seed of the body) shall all the families of the earth be blessed, even with the blessings of the Gospel, which are the blessings of salvation, even of life eternal.” Those persons who are of the literal seed of Abraham’s body (Israelites) who bear the priesthood will bless all the families of the earth with the Gospel. Those blessings are the Saving Ordinances (The Oath & Covenant of the Priesthood).

Do you ever stop and think that among those women. & children cast into the flames - that some might have been members of Amuleck's own immediate family- perhaps his own wife and children? And that Amulek had to watch their suffering 😢 It says in Alma 15:16 that Amulek was "rejected by... friends and also by his father and his kindred". That last word could be siblings and other extended family members - not necessarily his own wife & children.
Believe this is one reason why in Alma 15:18 (after they were in the land of Sidom) that Alma took Amulek to his own home in Zarahemla "and did administer until him in his tribulations". Love how Alma ministers to his dear friend who was suffering.
That is a sorrowful and sobering thought! Thank you for sharing.
