Don't know how I missed this one! So glad to see that you have the Autel Evo 2. It is a worthy competitor to DJI products. I've had the Evo 1 for 2 years, but had to stop using it after the RC failed and caused it to crash. The main damage was to the gimbal. But between both of those, Autel wants $500 to $700 to fix/replace it. Will be waiting to see what drones come out in the near future; if nothing outstanding (Mavic 3 Pro?) I may consider getting the Evo 2. I always thought the color scheme on the Evo was better than DJI. AND....you are a braver DYI-er than I am! That was a serious project.

Before you screw, drill a pilot hole first... Look at your screws. Your drill should make a hole slightly smaller than the thickness of the screws you're using. Not only easier and better, and make a stronger attachment, but will eliminate the problem of hurting your fingers and give your fingers more control over the screw... I use an electric drill to make my pilot holes and I use a ratchet screwdriver to screw them in... Whatever you can do without electricity is better than plugging in or even battery powered... I'm always trying to figure out ways around plugging in.

Ok I had a minor freakout when you used the jigsaw. Never put fingers in front of saw. Put foot on wood, use both hands on saw. Might save you fingers...
