Thanks to you, Pete I have recorded close to 40 songs using GarageBand to get them into iTunes. I mostly use do the vocals on GB, with my guitars done on AmpliTube and the bass/drums from karaoke-version. Without your ideas and instructions this wouldn’t have been possible. This was done on 7th gen iPad and Intel Mac. Amazing what you can do on ancient architecture.
Watching the replay. For a songwriter, I don't know how you could do better than Garage Band. It allows you to work on the ideas and inspiration without getting bogged down in checking busses etc etc. The tools included are quite powerful, and I have both Reaper and Logic, but I spend 99% of my time in GB. Just works.
I've just bought a refurbished macbook pro to 'upgrade' from ios on my phone and it's totally next level...for a completely free DAW it is fantastic! I used to have Cubase on a PC and I produced NOTHING...forever in the weeds tweaking this and that and getting nowhere. GB just opened up the ability to get something done. Sure, my earlier attempts are pretty average, but I'm learning about mixing and finally understanding how this all works a bit better - loving it!
Thank you for the video Pete. I use GB for all my productions. I don't think I could get a better sound with another platform. For me it would be a waste, I get good enough finished product with it. Cheers!
So still can't export ravenscroft track as audio via the share option. The only work around is screen recording the garageband playback including the audio and then using Microsoft clipchamp to separate the audio from the video. Probably a reduction in sound quality though.
It’s not that I hate garage band. For me it was great until I got serious about making music. Only then did I see its limitations in relation to other daws. You can’t side chain. The pitch correction is frustrating if your project uses notes from a different key. Then when you try and correct the notes you can only pitch things up or down a semitone at a time which is super frustrating. It would be great to have a function like melodine or autotune. The automation only works on volume not effects. So as a way of coming up with ideas it’s fine. But if you want to make music that holds up to the current standard. Then it’s seriously lacking. Having said all that it’s free so I guess we shouldn’t complain too much. If I’m wrong about anything I’ve said and GarageBand offers more than I can find then I’d appreciate some advice.

Have you tried using the merge option on the track? ua-cam.com/video/imcgX2bW8rk/v-deo.htmlsi=SV-vUn2P3PgllQz9
