VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
As you progress with Tableau Desktop you'll realize that sometimes there are calculations you want to perform that do not agree with the visualization you have at hand. We think of this in terms of levels of detail.
For each time you split the data further down you are adding a level of detail. Tableau by default always calculates at the lowest level of detail. However, that's not what we want sometimes. This is where Level of Detail (LOD) calculations. The INCLUDE LOD function lets you incorporate more detail than is represented in your visualization.
In this video I'll show you a breakdown of the INCLUDE function in Excel so you can see how its actually doing it at a row by row level.

The formula is wrong..742 should not be the avg..sum (sales) should be inside and avg(sales) should be outside the entire include command.. This should be the formula rather: AVG { INCLUDE [sub-category] : Sum { [ Sales ] }
