Thank you. Glad this popped up on my recommended vids. You clearly demonstrated and explained the process in detail. No excessive off topic chatter. Really irritating when a video shows a person’s hands with a closed notebook for 5 minutes or more without doing anything and just talking about things unrelated to the topic. Even more irritating is when they start the project then veers off and talk about junk and DO NOT explain what they are doing. Anyways, thank you for the video.
Lolly! This is an amazing idea! Thank you! I’m having so much fun watching you create your fairy journal. Now I can make one for myself! So many possibilities…I can’t wait to make some charms to dangle as well. 🥳 🧚♀️ 💛
What a beautiful TN cover that paper makes! Love the fairy paper! You inspired me to make one like this for my daughter in law and one with a mermaid theme for my granddaughter! What a great gift idea!
This is so awesome!!! I am new to the TN world and not sure what size is right for me so this is a great, inexpensive way to try it out before investing in something from a shop!
so true! I'd start with the inserts. Look at a list of all the insert sizes, like here: chicsparrow.com/pages/sizes-101 So you can make a folded piece of paper that will be the size you want when folded. Then see if it's easy to write on that size, or for what purpose you need. Then you'll get an idea what size you like -- just keep in mind that the notebook covers are larger than the inserts. :)
I've just found this series by accident and have watched the previous ones. I am so happy you included this one, because I was trying to think of a way to make my own cover, since some of the ones I saw were kind of pricey for me. I have a bunch of the fun foam in different colors. I should have known you would come up with a creative solution to it. LOL Thanks so much for sharing your incredible creative talent. I love the dangle charm on the side of the first one you did and the paper clips. So much fun. Gotta go watch the rest of the series. 😍🐞🧡
Thank you! I have foam from all over -- who knows where I bought it! I notice that one of the foam sheets is a little "crackly" when I shape it into a notebook, but the other is not at all crackly. Smooth as a baby's bottom!
LPZ: I had NO idea that "Fun Foam" could be decoupaged !! THAT idea will open-up so many more crafting possibilities for me. As usual, I ALWAYS learn something from your videos. You are right...some people do not have the $$ or access to ordering a more expensive leather cover. You are such a delight...TFS!! :D
I thought about Mod Podging the back of the foam, but I wasn't sure. Then when I podged the card stock to the foam and saw how well it did, I got excited!
Ty for showing this. I can't buy a cover yet and don't have a laminator. I'm so excited to try rhis. Now if I can just get the threading. I don't have a big bite but I'll eventually figure it out. Tfs your wonderful ideas. Hugs and blessings Donna
There are other small hand held tools for getting the holes and the eyelets done, like these amzn.to/2IUF49b and these amzn.to/2IV6U5t The second one is rated better.
Hi, I just found your channel and love this tutorial, your project came out beautiful. I've made a couple of these in a different size, but I'm going to try this size. I like the Modpodge idea and the tip to use needle and thread to get the elastic through. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent idea! ??? Does the ModPodge feel tacky after it is dry? Kuwait gets super hot, but at “Home” in Louisiana it is also very humid. I am just wondering how the ModPodge will react in such hot/humid climates.
the thicker (sturdier) the paper is, the less buckling. It's worse with thin papers. I roll the paper gently like a "U" shape and touch the center down on the Podge, then roll the sides onto it
Hey Lolly I tried looking for the laminated pen holder that you showed the the end of the video, the one that slips through the elastic string, I just couldn’t find it. You mentioned it was on a previous video. Please help. Lol. I made this TN and I looks great thank you for your help. I just love the colors you used.
The foam is durable. I would not recomment doing the Mod Podge on the inside after all. It tends to make a crackly noise. :) And I've noticed that different fun foam acts differenlty. So you'll need to play with what you have. I always take off the label when I get my foam, so I never remember what brand it is.
Oh Lolly that is absolutely gorgeous, I am in love with that paper. Thank you for doing this tutorial,I am going to make one. Are you going to do a series on this TN, she asks with hope in her voice LOL. ? This is the Crop a Dile I was wondering about when I asked about the other punch one in your video last week. Thank you for putting the link in about this one, now I know this is the one I was looking for instead of the punch one. I thought there was one that did everything...I will watch the link. I am sure I spelled it wrong. Thank you for doing this tutorial, I hope you are having a great Monday! 💕🐣🐥🇨🇦
No problem! :) This video is already part of my Fairy Traveler's Notebok series. Everything in the series will work together size-wise. I wanted to show how to make a cover for those who need that option :)
Okay, I played with it. You can definitely sew around it. It looks marvelous on the front, but on the back (the foam side), the teeth that pull material through across the plate have roughed up the foam -- it left faint scuff marks on the foam. I can turn it over and sew foam side up, but on my sewing machine, the bobbin thread doesn't leave pretty stitching on the front of the cover. I need to be better at adjusting the tension :)
Thank you Lolly for sharing this but what if I put another paper at the back, mod podged in the same way on the foam. Please advice. Hugs Pramita.💕💕💕💕💕
So you want paper on both sides, with foam in the middle? I would try it on a strip of paper first. Like maybe a 6 inch strip of foam, cover both sides with card stock, mod podge, etc. That way you can see how the papers will bend with the foam when dry. I am guessing it will be okay.
Sure, because you can get the foam for about fifty cents. Then all you have to consider is one sheet of card stock, and your Mod Podge, eyelets, and elastic.
Hi, as I don't understand English and the video is not subtitled, I was unable to know the name of the material in blue used to make this midori? Could inform me?
Thank you. Glad this popped up on my recommended vids. You clearly demonstrated and explained the process in detail. No excessive off topic chatter. Thank you for the wonderful class and information today..Have a Beautiful Blessed Day!!
Many thanks!
Using foam is a great idea! Never would have thought of that,
it has such a nice feel to it. Way thicker and sturdier than just card stock.
This is such a great idea, Lolly, using CS & Fun Foam. Turned out really cute, too. Thanks for sharing, dear.
Thanks so much! 😊

Nice! So many gorgeous papers to choose from!
That’s so nice, Lolly. I’m going to try using the fun foam and follow these steps to make some cute pocket Size TNs. TYFS! 💕
enjoy! I did discover that I don't need Mod Podge on the inside

Thank you so much lolly...if I want the look of stitching I can just put it on the front and then back it with foam.... You r the best!!
have fun :)
Love love this! Such a genius idea of using fun foam!

Lolly Palooza could you tell us how well has the cover hold? I've made covers out of paper fabric and the feel is wonderful and sturdy.
I'm not a big fan of fairies but that was so beautiful! Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I cant wait to try this. Its perfect!
thanks!
Great notebook! I'm surely going to try this. Thank you for showing.
you bet! Thanks for watching

Lolly Palooza Ty I have the hand held version of the big bite. Just figuring out how to work it. Ty Lolly for always being so kind. Hugs
:)
Tfs ! This would be great as a journal cover too !!
So many possibilities! Thanks for watching :)
Lolly, this is such a genius idea! I am off to get some fun foam to use your technique. YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!
Thank you so very much! :)
Thank you for sharing! 💖
thanks a bunch!
Thank you for a great tutorial. I’m definitely going to give this type of cover a try.
Thank you. I have another one drying right now!
I love this. Great idea to use the foam.
Going to have to look out for more colors!
You just keep it up with the pressure. You’re trying to force me into making travelers notebooks aren’t you? 😀
Pretty much! :) I had no idea that this series was going to take me so long, but I just keep thinking, "Oh, and I need to do THAT, too!" :)
Great tutorial.
Tfs 👍💙
Have a blessed day.
thanks a bunch!

you are welcome. I used just thread, no needle. Someone since then has shown me to use dental flossers!
So helpful! Thank you!
thanks for watching
great tutorial - really appreciate the time and effort!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching.
Great video! Thanks

thanks!
You are AMAZING ☺️💕I love all your tutorials and fab ideas! ☺️💕
thank you! That's very kind of you. I'm getting ready to make another one. :)
Lolly Palooza wish I was there! 😊💕
Tecnica geniale e risultato fantastico 👌😍👏
gracias
I just love your videos! You do such a good job explaining the steps. I definitely want to try this cover. Tfs. 💖
thank you so much! I've discovered that the Mod Podge on the inside tends to crackle with movement. It's not needed anyway.
Lolly Palooza Thanks for the tip.
Good Job! 👍🏻
thank you
Great technique. Pretty:)
many thanks
Great tutorial! Tfs xoxo 😘
thanks a bunch :)
Thank you so much for this fantastic tn cover tutorial!! I am definitely going to give this a try!! Tfs :)
it has such a nice feel to it, and definitely better than just card stock.
Thanks lolly! Awesome tutorial!!!
You're welcome. Thank you for watching!
Excellent idea! ??? Does the ModPodge feel tacky after it is dry? Kuwait gets super hot, but at “Home” in Louisiana it is also very humid. I am just wondering how the ModPodge will react in such hot/humid climates.
I don't have any problems. It might take longer to dry in your climate though.
Thank you!
Loved this also
thanks a bunch
Great tutorial!
thank you :)
Thank you so much for the video.
You're welcome. I'm making another one right now!
How did the fun foam hold up? Love your tutorials. Thanks for all your hard work you put into these.
I found that it doesn't do any good to Mod Podge the foam on the inside. Not necessary, and the Podge cracks. Otherwise it's fine.
Thanks for getting back to me. Appreciate the info.
Does the modge podge crack in the front cover or just the inside?
Love it!
thank you very much
Thanks for the tutorial. ❤️
You're welcome! Thanks for watching
Paper craft newbie here. How do you keep the Mod Podge from buckling and warping the paper? I have a wretched time with the stuff.
the thicker (sturdier) the paper is, the less buckling. It's worse with thin papers. I roll the paper gently like a "U" shape and touch the center down on the Podge, then roll the sides onto it
@@LollyPalooza Thank you! I will keep thickness in mind.
Wow I like that one 💕I always score the center of my TN thank so much for sharing that😍
this is a wide spine, so you might want to take that into consideration, or to resize it so the spine isn't so big. :)
Hey Lolly I tried looking for the laminated pen holder that you showed the the end of the video, the one that slips through the elastic string, I just couldn’t find it. ua-cam.com/video/7J8ss7eYLPo/v-deo.html there you go :)
so cute love it
thank you. I'm glad I played with this -- I'll be making more!
Very awesome tutorial. Thanks so much
Many thanks!
I love the fairy cover- can you please tell us where you got it? thanks.
there is a link under the video, but it appears they don't stock it any more
I just found the paper on eBay, super surprised and the price was very good.
Great idea! How durable is it with the fun foam? Does it stay stuck on there through many uses?
The foam is durable. I would not recomment doing the Mod Podge on the inside after all. It tends to make a crackly noise. :) And I've noticed that different fun foam acts differenlty. So you'll need to play with what you have. I always take off the label when I get my foam, so I never remember what brand it is.

I must really like this, I just read my post and realized I said thank you for doing this tutorial twice lol 😜
No problem! :) This video is already part of my Fairy Traveler's Notebok series. Everything in the series will work together size-wise. I wanted to show how to make a cover for those who need that option :)
+Lolly Palooza oh right lol , how silly of me....I watched the whole series I guess I just like to watch you create! 🐣🐥🇨🇦💕
Lolly, você passou tinta branca diluída por cima ?? O azul, é EVA ? Bjs Virginia, Brasil
diluted glue. Not paint
so beautiful so beautiful
many thanks!
great idea using foam, do you think you could still sew around the edges?
I think I'll test a scrap on my sewing machine and get back with you
Okay, I played with it.
Maybe I missed it, but what is the size of the elastic? Your link takes me to more than one size.
2mm thick
Nice!
thank you very much
Love it
thanks so much. Now that I made it, I can't stop playing with it. Loving the feel!
Loved this tutorial. Thank you!
thanks! It's really fun!
awesome!

thank you ...I am going to number 1 no sleep for me tonight lol
ha! It's addicting, right?
That is a great idea TFS Hugs Bonnie
Thank you, Bonnie :)
Does it get sticky because of the modpodge?
no, Mod Podge dries. However, I have found that it's not necessary to Mod Podge the inside (the top of the foam)
Where did you purchase your notebooks at ?
You mean the inserts? What goes inside? I make them most of the time.
Clever idea!! How much do you think this cost to make; under $5?
Sure, because you can get the foam for about fifty cents. Then all you have to consider is one sheet of card stock, and your Mod Podge, eyelets, and elastic.
Hi, as I don't understand English and the video is not subtitled, I was unable to know the name of the material in blue used to make this midori? Could inform me?
it is craft foam
@@LollyPalooza Thanks
or would you be willing to sell the journal that you made?
For some reason my reply got deleted ! I think I still have it. lolly.palooza@yahoo.com
