Only lesson I took out of this video was that there was no defense on the field for the Washington-Baylor football game at 4:15. 56 to 67, really? That beats a good chunk of ncaa basketball scores.
Two things you have to know about that game. A lot of the teams play styles are suited towards their conference opponents, and each conference basically runs their own schemes. Bowl games get like that because they're playing against someone who runs an offense and defense they aren't used to
I was at that game and the wind was pretty bad. It was good 20-25 MPH gusts all throughout the game so it's at least understandable. However don't give the team that just scored two touchdowns in 3 minutes the ball first in overtime. People forget the Bears overcame two touchdowns and an onside kick to win.
That is only a borderline gamble. True gambles are things like faking a PAT and then going for 2, running a play at the end of the game when taking a knee allows you to win the game, not pitting when you know you are going to run out of gas, deferring in OT, going for a touchdown in OT passing up a tying field goal, keeping a tired pitcher in the game against a pretty good hitting team, going for it on fourth and inches deep in your own territory, changing goal keepers for the shootout, going for a touchdown near the end of a tie game rather than settling for a go-ahead field goal, selecting your driver when you have been missing with it all day, and of course, #1, under-bribing the refs so they rob you of an obvious first down at the most critical point in a game (p.s. Go Rams).
fair enough, but often you'll see managers stay with their guy... sometimes it pays off and sometimes it bites you in the ass, but either way, if your guy says I want this, then sometimes you gotta just say okay and go with it and believe that he'll get the job done
I dont care what anyone says ever the pats made that first down by close to a yard and it was probably the worst spot placement in the history of the NFL
Belichek number 1?? Manning would have scored from 80 yards as easy as 40 and it was a good tackle to prevent the first down. Big gamble but not a bad gamble.

I remember that game...all defensive players were required to wear blinders due to a rare weather condition.
I didn't see that game in the video
That's nothing. 2016 Pitt beat Syracuse 76-61 in regulation.
It was at least an exciting game. Prime RG3.

2:31 Terrible hold
Watching #1 is good for the soul.
One of the best defense during the BB era and you go for it instead of punting. Still baffled.

I watched this so long ago I had forgotten what #1 was. Kind of expected Iron Bowl 2013 to make the list.
Why would you ever defer in an overtime?
If you had money on the other team winning it's a very smart decision. lol
To get the wind on your back
Idk. Im a Lions fan but that was the shittiest decision ever.

Jesus...who was holding the ball at 2:31? Dan Marino?
XFL should be #1 lol.
super bowl 49 last play? passing instead of running it
this was actually a list that came out in 2012. i caught that at 0:15
oh that makes sence
ashdude55 h
sence? lol
Cole Perry agreed. That should be number one.
Some real boneheaded coaches in here. Top ones though gutsy calls that did not pay.
What!!! An NFL coach chose to give the ball away in OT. Oh my days.
#9 cars without the happy ending
The Aaron Boone homerun is still hard to watch... But the Red Sox made up for it a year later :)
Top 10 Gambles In the Hood (gone wrong) (cops called) (gone sexual)
Marty Mornhinweg. A man hell bent on getting fired. He'll do whatever it takes to make sure you hate yourself for hiring him
Eagles have to go back to those uniforms.
Jean Van De Velde should have made this list
No Tom Osbourne's 2 pt. gamble in the 1984 Orange Bowl or Matt Hasslebeck's "We want the ball and we're going to score"
I wouldn’t really consider Hasslebecks comment a gamble more of just a boneheaded statement
Hurts me to say as a jets fan but pats clearly got that first down
9 really hurt man DW cursed him
#10 wasn't even a gamble, it was just stupid.
It was actually before the kneel-down was invented.
Mr. Gentlezombie thats not true it just wasnt used as much until that play.
@steve b No, QBs couldn't be downed until they were touched, so the defense would have a free shot at the QB. Not great.
#1's big failure was them wasting their final timeout. If they didn't, they would have challenged the play and have gotten the first down.
It was under 2 minutes. Only official reviews
It was reviewed. It was upheld. I watched it live bud. They called it short on the field. Reviewed it, and the call STOOD. Was irrefutable evidence.
ummm, how about that super bowl where they threw it instead of running it at the end?

#10 that’s what you did back then. Run out the clock
This play, more than anything, gave the victory formation credibility.
#9 still hurts
Dale JR is Scottin away isn’t he
Military bowl presented by Profiteers of Death aka Northrop Grumman.
I love that company. The peace keepers of the world.
They are so noble, that their product protect gutless cowards, too.
top 10 gambles gone right?
Bill Belichick being number one brings my heart joy
Is it REALLY a gamble to keep one of the most dominant pitchers of all time who's also your ace in the game?
fair enough, but often you'll see managers stay with their guy... sometimes it pays off and sometimes it bites you in the ass, but either way, if your guy says I want this, then sometimes you gotta just say okay and go with it and believe that he'll get the job done
I def see where your coming from though, if my guy was up to 105 id probably pull him too tbh
I dont care what anyone says ever the pats made that first down by close to a yard and it was probably the worst spot placement in the history of the NFL
eagles are ringless but they can ruin your party
Not anymore lol
I can't believe I did that I'm such a idiot 😂😂😂😂
Seahawks vs Patriots doesn't even get mentioned...
капіталістычны ok didn't know. Thanks.
Wasnt a gamble
2006 National Championship???
Belichek number 1?? Manning would have scored from 80 yards as easy as 40 and it was a good tackle to prevent the first down. Big gamble but not a bad gamble.
Horrible guitar riff throughout the entire video makes it difficult to hear what anyone is saying.
