You're using a 25 kg reel with a 5 kg line, that´s why you can´t go up 5 or 10% drag. The minumum for that setup is a 20 kg line.

I caught my first diamond small yellow at that lake. I did it off the dock though. I used a 3 minnow, but it only took me 30 small mouth with a few largemouth and tigers. For catfish and eels do you have to do bottom fishing?

Nice! Yeah they are bottom lurkers so better to use a feeder rod
