- Anime, its something that has shaped me in a lot of ways with its stories and characters as anime has so many life lessons lol today for the 100+ sub special I wanted to tell a story about how anime taught me how to be "cool" or what "being cool" really means by talking about 3 main shows flcl or Fooley Cooley, Great Teacher Onizuka, and Gurren Lagann these shows played a huge part in my understanding of coolness which meant a lot to my young nerdy elementary school ass lol thank you all so much for the support on this channel never really had hope in something till now... thank you and enjoy
also... god dammit I got copyrighted for the Simon speech so if you don't see the speech that's why lol buy anyway

god that be yourself with frank ocean music hit hard
That’s exactly what I wanted glad someone felt it
Name of song ?
@@simp4von255 be yourself by frank ocean but it’s not really a song it’s like a voicemail but the instrumental is great to listen to!
@@InternetPitstop Theres a video called the last day of high school in the 90's and its literally just a home video of the last day of school in the 90's and it uses the instrumental from the frank ocean song i think you would like it.
@@simp4von255 running around by buddy Ross
I think "be yourself" is such a difficult phrase for kids because, as a kid I didn't even know who I WAS.
Me post-20 has been one big self discovery trip.
When people shit on someone for being inspired by a fictional character I always think to myself, I guess all the English majors still out there studying shakespeare and beowulf are just doing it because it's good money.
Art is a beautiful thing that can teach us so much about ourselves, society and the world in general.
Not every TV show is profound but damn if there aren't some story arcs in anime that are so philosophical people write god damn papers on them.
"Life, Death, and the Path to Enlightenment: Buddhist Symbolism in the Manga "Bleach"." is a academic paper from Columbia university that honestly is just one big ass essay that's just a bit more formal than a video essay.
Fr Fancy Pants taught me to be active no matter what and he don’t even talk
and you should CONSIDER why the GEEK IS LOATHED especially by ARTISTS AND CREATORS THEMSELVES. CAREFUL WITH UR ENTHUSIASM FOR SHIT DRAWN FROM THE REALM OF THE ELEMENTS OF DESIGN AT PLAY if u consume too much art without producing ANYTHING OUT OF YA you're basically a religious nut obsessing over THIS GUY OR THAT GUY. art history and stories must lead roundy round to enliven life itself, and GEEKS FUCK IT UP

What?!?!🤣
@@davidmacias1270 TL;DR I'm a big stinky nerd and I think it's fine to be inspired by art.
This channel deserves more subscribers.
I've come from the future to say it's happened!

It's people like you who unabashedly speak, edit and produce on their favorite topics that really spark inspiration in people. That being said your comment about people discounting the stories told in anime really hit hard. like you said actual people put their heart, soul and artistry into anime and I love that by definition anime is now "cool" because now maybe people can feel valid in the lessons they learn from anime.
"Style is when you know who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn"
I have been going through this my whole life and it's only now at 24 that I'm finally starting to become myself and stop pretending for others. I wish I discovered your channel sooner! Thank you so much man, your content has been helping me beyond belief and helped me through really dark thoughts and a bad environment. I hope and pray you achieve everything you set out in life. Godspeed man❤
Thank you so much for the comment and glad I could speak on something you relate to man really happy you’re here on this channel!
"Kuz, uh spoilers, Kamina fucking dies." Made me laugh so god damn hard. Good delivery on that shit bro hell yeah
Thx boss!
Good stuff, man. I think all of of us anime/manga fans can relate. Manga and anime is one of the biggest reasons I became interested in Japan as a kid and eventually immigrated here. Need to up my game to make better videos on my channel and do something like this.A bit random but LMK if you need any Japanese translation or have questions about Japan.
I’ll definitely let you know my guy shoot me your discord ?
Ippo is also very inspiring to put you into workout routine. Your blood will boil after watching his every match and his development that he gets is insane.
Seeing GTO as a kid inspired me to be a teacher, I'm 26 now and have a stable job as a teacher and even if I'm not as "cool" as the main character, I took those learning from him to be myself I can relate a lot with you too I grow up watching a lot of anime and since I can tell we share a lot of likings and hobbies I aimed to be a teacher as Onizuka but being myself and trying to reach those boys and girls that may receive mocks or verbal (even physical) attacks, those weebs that may need to learn the lesson you trying to show in your video.
I really love you bro keep up the good work
I've only come across your channel for a short time, but you videos have resonated with me. i had a sheltered childhood, and watching your videos has let me experience what it was like to grow up with access 2000's media. This video in particular has spoken to me in a way that I haven't ever expected from a youtube video. i haven't found myself yet as a human, but i do have a loving girlfriend and a handful of close friends from high school and university. i find myself still trying to act "cool" when going to classes or walking down the street in my hometown, as though i should care what strangers think about me. i'd like to think it takes me a very short amount of time to get dressed in the morning, but simply picking out clothes that i don't think will look stupid together takes a while, bc of how focused i am on being "cool." anyway, i appreciate you... and your little pitstop... on the corner of the internet.
I’ve been watching anime since i was a kid (21 now) and just like you said I’ve learned a lot of things from many protagonist’s. Their stories and lessons helped to make me the person i am today and This video perfectly captures how anime influenced me to being not just cool but a good person as well.
God man with the production quality of your vids you should be at at least 100k by now
maaan I wish when or if that happens I will find this comment and I will..... idk reply again or something lol
@@InternetPitstop thanks i think?! But yeah you fr make some slammin videos keep it up.
@@InternetPitstop Almost there dude!
Easy work, lad
"Your best friend is someone you met two episodes ago"
Definitely have to sub after that because life feels like just one long anime arc with sections.
I remember trying to fit in with everyone in elementary school and how it didn't really work because I took every tease or joke way too seriously. Then I somehow figured out it was better to stand out than fit in while in middle school. It's not about imitating to be cool, it's seeing something cool and admitting that you like it. For example, I started watching anime in college after moving on from afternoon Toonami in elementary school. One of the first things I watched was all of Dragonball. I thought Yamcha's hair was cool, so I grew my hair real long and it's been that way for nearly 10 years and I have no intention of changing that. I think it's cool.
Man I’m sooo resonating with what you're saying! Being inspired by characters in anime/manga, applying that wisdom into your life and seeing how does lessons can truly change you for the best! Amen!
“You are right. It is useless, unless you believe in yourself. “ - Gai Sensei
That quote was so counter intuitive but so impactful when I heard it the first time.
Finally, another man who understands the coolness of kamina. He's not an awesome guy because he's alone and talks big, but because he inspires his followers to be the best they can be and whole heartily believe, not in him, themselves.
Probably a bit late but just wanted to add two characters who shaped my life (probably) forever, Hikigaya Hachiman and Thorfinn Karlsefni. Initially when I watched season 1 of Oregairu , I was in probably the hardest time of my life so far, his pessimist view of life felt so right and relatable to me at the time , but then as I grew (with no friends), that feeling/view made me subconsciously realise that even though I kept this view on life nothing would change making me feel empty (aside from enjoying anime and games all alone lmao). But then from left field, Vinland Saga season 2 came out and floored.
The journey of this revenge ridden killer of a kid to a peace loving MAN just touched me and made me genuinely want to be a better person to myself and others. It made me truly understand how the MC of Oregairu found himself in season 1 was cringe compared to him in season 3. So yeah, both shows in top 3 of all time.
Honourable mentions:
-Not so much one character but dear god the whole main cast of A place further than the Universe is just so incredible and made me feel inspired and appreciate how beautiful it is to have something you really want to do and do it.
-Gurren lagann's fucking insane depiction and portrayal of believing in yourself throughout the whole show first with Kamina's "believe in the me that believes in you" then "who the hell do you think I AM" and finally Simon's acceptance and transformation into himself will forever cement this show as one of my favourites forever. (GOD I WISH THE ENG DUB OF THE FILMS PLAYED IN MY COUNTRY!!!!)
thanks for reading this yappathon to the end if you did .
The character who inspired me... is u bro 😳
nah but fr, you're fucking awesome. By talking about the things you like in such a passionate, funny, and moving way, you portrayed the theme of this very video; being the coolest version of yourself, and live to the fullest.
I think the reason anime means so much to so many people is how inspirational it is, and how it takes cliché messages such as "love yourself", "never give up", "the power of friendship", and through its narrative, makes you realize they really are some of the most important shit you have to know in life. Anime, games, movies, and the characters in them can offer such strong messages and, although I felt like I was the only one who valued such specific things about them (whether it is noticing the role beyond the superficial narrative x character fufills for the overall message of a story, nerdy stuff like the design of a pokemon region, or how nicely that specific mechanic ties into the gameplay) seeing channels like yours and its content makes me realize I'm not alone in the things I find meaningful, and that by being myself, to the fullest, is the only way to make genuine genuine bonds with others, just like I can tell you did by starting this channel and talking about the things you are passionate about.
Also great fucking taste in music ayo
you dope fashionable man.
Thank you so much for this my guy, much much love❤️
Seeing someone talk about my three favorite comfort anime was great. Thanks my guy
"be yourself" by Frank Ocean playing in the background was an amazing touch. that song is beautiful. 😩
I've been more depressed than usual these Days, i came back to this video and i feel a little bit better, thanks, the name of the Channel fits perfectly
You and I are a lot alike! As much as it pains me to think about what I was like when I was younger, you pretty much summed it up in this video. You really put it into words. And you are definitely one of the good ones. Not everyone comes to this realization. I've got about a decade on you LOL, but I still relate.
It's amazing to see that even from the start your content had been what it was meant to be. Your video have always been amazing and I can't see a difference in quality from this 156 subscribers to the current 140k subscribers. I think you've gotten more comfortable with your content and what you bring, but the editing, visuals, and heart have always been there and that's a beautiful thing. Stay golden ✨️
Oh gawd this guy's definitely gonna pop off he's totally got "it" whatever it is
Nice. Touch with the air. Gear. OST in the end
This is an underrated channel this like everything that I love all in your me Channel
Bro! Naruto taught me so much about myself and when he talks about how he decided to stop crying and do something about his life. Boi!! I'm telling you that was the first most impactful moment that any anime ever had on me and encouraged me to stop standing still and start walking no matter how tough the road will be. Nearly 30 and still Believin' It with a wife and child. You are a legend my guy. I am loving the content.
It's been almost a year since this video came out. And you've gone from hundreds to 31.1K. Congrats, stranger.
This video is much like the moto I used growing up. "Live life anime as fuck. You might not like the genre but you're a main character so act like it."
Nothing weird about learning things from fictional characters, or pick up on moral lessons from stories.
What do you think a fairy tale is, and why have we told them to kids since forever?
Even religion does the same thing, and you can pick up something useful or insightful from religions you don’t even believe in if they have stories with a message that transcends the silly notion of wether you believe the characters are real or not.
Same goes for anime.
No series has ever made me cry as many times as Gurren Lagann
MAAAAAAAAAN I ADOORE THIIS FKIING COONTEENT IS SOOOOOOO REAL AND IT ADS TO YOUR LIFE, IT'S NOT JUST ENTRENTAINMENT LIKE MOST OF UA-cam!!!
Damn, I love hearing personal stories like this. Rock on, dude
Thanks for giving FLCL some attention. It's a very influential animal for me
great video. You have another sub. GTO does not get enough love. Its not as wild as some anime out there but It will always be my favorite anime.
As you approach 100k and I have been going through your content it is alqays funny, but incredibly endearing watching you celebrate goals like 150 followers.

It's great that you can reach so many people and give them something in their day that they can relate to and enjoy, so keep that in mind man.
been watching a few of your videos. Simone was my epiphany of a fictional character making me realize how I wanted to live too. Love the content. Keep it up *subs hard til I bust*
I think your hair would look really nice if it was a bit longer up front. Also lovely videos, great channel.
Being yourself is also acknowledging that you have your own experiences tailored to you. It's hard not to get jealous of someone else's success/fame/money etc. and also to compare yourself to them, but the thing to continually remember is to NEVER (I don't use that word often) compare yourself to others. Their experience is not yours and vice versa. When you can accept this and let go of those feelings of longing for other people's experiences and to be grateful for the chances you have in yours, you understand what a gift the individual experience is, whether it be illusion or not.
I love your style, voice, acting, memes, editing, clever use of the green screen and ofc how honest you are! keep up the good work!
Thank you dude! That means a whole lot

SIMON THE WHAT??!?!?!?!
Your videos are lit
I truly wish sometimes that I hadn't grown up with adults constantly droning on about how "I shouldn't watch this shiz" and how "it isn't real" and how "it's stupid" and "a waste of time", because it ironically made internalizing some of the actually worthwhile lessons anime has in it actually really really difficult. I watched GTO and loved it. I watched Guren Lagann and loved it and looked up to these characters, but always, a voice deep down planted by the above always creeps up telling me "these aren't real, dumbass". Made it really hard to grow up from the Simon stage, I'll tell you that.
If any current parent or teacher reads this. Don't tell kids this stuff is dumb just because it's drawings.
My most common response to bullying in early middle school was laughter, before informing the assailants that "I didn't give a fuck, and they were the fools for wasting precious moments of their lives on our damp space rock by picking on some dweeb. None of this matters in the grand scheme of it all anyway, so go on, waste your time. See if I give a shit." In that specific wording exactly.
The most common response to this was a confused "huh?" before they all just walked away slightly perplexed and bemused.
As you can imagine, I'm quite the hit at parties, and everybody loved younger me, nothing edgy there, no sir.
Honest to God the cast of Yu Yu Hakusho that probably been My greatest inspiration to live life how I want to.
