your teacher may know more than me, but this is what mine told me to do, and it is a jazz piece after all, personally i prefer it swung, but it's your decision.

sort out the rhythm. Jazz supposed to flow. not be perfect, otherwise it wouldn't be jazz or 'easy swing' as it says. BUT you do play it welll
you need to pedal more...some parts are just too choppy and add more swing to it! more attitude!
