I remember when I lived in Colorado and I went to my cousin's wedding in Georgetown...I I saw signs about that road and from Georgetown, I wasn't that far from it. Right after the wedding, I drove up it and, believe me, it WAS a drive worth taking. Absolutely beautiful, beautiful!
Breathtaking! This would be terrifying for me to drive, but I'm glad I was able to see it through your video. Amazing job as always! I liked the commentary at the end. Gave it a touch of personalization.
Thank you! I think I might do more of those here in the future. Also, yes this road isn’t for everyone. It’s definitely worth the trip if you choose to make it however.
Thank you for the spectacular video, Kyle. I really enjoy your commentary over the photos at the end, so please feel free to do more of that! Greetings from Scotland.
Simply amazing and awesome video of Mount Evans Scenic Byway. It is simply breathtaking at 14,130 feet that you can look out and see so many other peaks and US 285. I've never been here or to Rocky Mountain National Park (US 34) but I hope to so see some day. Colorado in the Rocky Mountains never disappoints! Thank you Kyle for a great video and pictures and I think Pikes Peak does have more steeper curves than Mount Evans which is steep at the summit coming down but it gradually falls in elevation. Both have narrow roads in spots too.
Those are some killer views in your photos!! I would be driving up and down that road by myself because other folks in the vehicle would make me nervous and not concentrate.
Spectacular! Stunning vista and you picked out the best music to fit the video! Definitely will get your blood racing on the curves downhill! Not for the faint of heart.
I think the views of the mountains are better on Mount Evans because Pikes Peak is a tall mountain that isn't surrounded by other tall mountains unlike Mount Evans, which is right in the middle of the Front Range.
Have been on this road a few times in my life, once on vacation and then another time related to the Bob Cook Memorial Hill Climb, yep, made it all the way to the top back in 2004, where has the time gone? That said, enjoyed the commentary afterward because it really helps to put the road in context which, in part, is the experience you had as a driver. Don't know if that's a standard for every video (i.e., I-355 around Chicago) but for those that are a cut above the attention is warranted. Also gives a space to feature the still photos you've taken, which are always good to see. Well done Kyle, keep up the good work so guys like me can live vicariously through your trips.
With the steep drop offs and lack of road edge markers driving a snow plow there has to be an extreme pucker factor job. This road is on my bucket list.
I know the views at the summit is breath taking despite the drive up to it- & esp downhill with the lack of guard rails. In case you're wondering BTW, the highest paved road in the world is Karakoram Highway- which at Khunjerab Pass is at 4,693 meters- or 15,529 ft.
@@InterstateKyle I was there once, along with Pikes Peak (top of both.) Was to Estes Park but didn't get to go any further. You do a great job with your videos, coming about as close as one can to capturing the majesty of the mountains. Like you said however, you can't replace being there in person! (they look WWAAAYYYY bigger then you think they would if you've never seen a "big mountain" before)
As much as I hate to admit it, I have never driven Mt Evans. It's not that I've never had the desire to, it's because I really have never had the occasion to... If that makes any sense. Pikes peak? Hundreds of times (I even have some recent downhill footage to edit), but Evans is kind of off the beaten path in a manner of speaking... Someday... Someday. It's #1 on the ol' Bucket list, but the ol' bucket is getting rusty! 🤣
STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL,AND I LOVED THAT YOU STARTED WITH AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL,I CRIED MY HEART OUT BECAUSE WE ARE SO CLOSE TO LOSING HER.PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA HOW CLOSE WE ARE,I ASK EVERYONE TO ASK GOD TO SAVE OUR BEAUTIFUL COUNTY.YOU DID A WONDERFUL JOB OF CAPTURING THE SCENERY.THANK YOU.

@@InterstateKyle glad you made the trip and it was enjoyable. Very brave. Looking forward to seeing more from you.
Yeah, I liked the commentary at the end as well. It's good to have voiceover while you show all your pictures since previously there wasn't any sound.
This road makes Trail Ridge Road in the RMNP look like a picnic.
I think so too! This road is not for the faint of heart.
Looks like a nice view along that road
It is! Thank you for watching!
@@InterstateKyle you're welcome

Thank you Lionel! Appreciate the kind words!
Went beautiful and will have your heart pounding

Thank you! I'm glad I drove this alone. Very few people I know would be willing to drive or much less be a passenger for this ride lol.

Ive watched all your co trip vids many times and really enjoy them everytime commentary at end just adds to the whole exp. NICE
Trees start spperaring on the side of road at the 16:52 mark in the form of the stunted pine, then the big one at 17:01!
That is called the timberline/tree line.
Love your channel. This was amazing. Welcome to our Colorful Colorado.
That. Was. Awesome!!!
Now this will be a treat.
Great video and wonderful views. Enjoyed the commentary.
One of your finest.
Thank you very much!
Stunningly beautiful! Reminds me of the drive up Pikes Peak but perhaps the views here are even better 😁

Great video love when you do Colorado videos
Thank you Mike!

How far from Denver is the peak of Mount Evans?
This road is on my bucket list along with Karakoram pass in Asia
I hope you can drive it someday!
Is the Mt.Evans roads less steep than Pikes Peak? The drive looks more gradual than Pikes Peak imo
It’s less steep.

While I would never, ever make this drive, I would pay someone a lot to drive me up and down the mountain :)
I’m not saying I’m offering but I have the experience lol ;)

How does one "lose" a count[r]y? It's not a set of car keys.
this is an absolutely beautiful drive, but I will admit, a bit scary and I was watching on my You Tube channel. I was also in aw at the scenery.
No way would I drive this road it is barely wide enough for one car and the drop off is severe.
It’s not for everyone’s taste. Lol
