- Evanescence's Amy Lee chats with us backstage on the band's Worlds Collide tour alongside Within Temptation. She talks returning to the stage and playing songs from latest album 'The Bitter Truth' live, including the powerful 'Use My Voice'. Plus, she reflects on the upcoming twentieth anniversary of debut album 'Fallen', plans to celebrate and the continued popularity of 'Bring Me To Life'. Plus, touring with Korn, collaborating with Bring Me The Horizon and their big 2023 plans including Sick New World and Download Festival.

Amy Lee as Snow White back when she was at the age of 19 was a hugely missed opportunity. If she was an actress too she’d be the perfect candidate to play Snow White in a live-action Snow White adaptation.

Haha it's very true. As for Fallen, it already had vinyl releases in the past, including as part of The Ultimate Collection. Releasing another now is unnecessary. I don't want a Fallen show either, as it's true they've been touring continuously now, and there is no point of having a show specifically dedicated to playing Fallen in its entirety, which they played back during the Fallen tour anyway (except Hello, which Amy will never play). And frankly, playing Fallen in its entirety would be boring. Most fans wouldn't want that anyway as most like to hear a mix of music across the discography, as they're doing now with focus on TBT, and everyone including casual listeners are fully familiar with Fallen as it's their most commercially successful album. I don't know why some requested that. Must be those who only care about Fallen, so I'm sure they'll be petty regardless lol. I think maybe a re-recording of a couple of tracks from the album or a re-issue with unseen pictures of Amy from that era - if she has access to those - is enough, if anything of that album would tinkered with cause it might not be. For me, It's not really something I care about to look forward to. I'm always in the present of the band, as I live in my own present, and I especially look forward to new music in the future. Now that's exciting.

I was in my senior year when evanescence came out. She still looks flawless

I'm so happy they're planning to start working on new music after touring so it's not going to be that long a wait (as long as another pandemic doesn't hit lol). They've been touring non-stop for two years, and the energy's been amazing. She and the band have been amazing at the shows, the musical interpretations and changes, the energy, emotions, dynamics and the crowd love was thrilling! There were even tears in the audience at my show. I love that they've done a mix of classics and deep cuts in the set lists, and even done some remix/blending of songs and different versions of songs. They've got such a large varied catalogue by now that it's impossible to satisfy everyone with set lists. Some wanna hear the big hits, some want specific songs based on genres/styles, some want to hear the deep cuts, some want to hear a mix of all these, and others are along for the show ride. Looking forward to 2023 with the other shows and festivals and later downtime for new music writing!
I adore Amy Lee and I enjoy some Evanescence too 💞 she reminds me so much of my cousin that passed 3 months ago, atleast when I'm watching her and listening to her in a strange way I can imagine that my cousin is still here
