പണ്ട് ഞാൻ ഒരു കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് വിശ്വാസി ആയിരുന്നപ്പോൾ ദുബായിൽ വച്ച് ഒരു യൂറോപിയനുമായി ധാരാളം സംസാരിക്കാൻ ഇടയായി. വളരെ സമയത്തിന് ശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം ഒരു comment പറഞ്ഞു. "You Keralites might be voting for different political parties, but all the Keralites I've known are essentially a socialist."
അതായത് കേരളത്തിൽ ആര് ഭരിച്ചാലും പ്രതിപക്ഷത്തു ഇരിക്കുന്നവർ (ഏതു പാർട്ടി ആയാൽ പോലും) സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റുകൾ ആയി മാറുന്ന ഒരു വിചിത്ര രീതി കാണാവുന്നതാണ്.. ഇതാണ് കേരളത്തിലെ സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റ് പൊതു ബോധ നിർമ്മിതി.

Excellent presentation. Market economy needs regulation not restriction. Basic issue in 1988 was Asset-Liability mismatch in finance sector. The financial risk can not be avoided but the system needs to mitigate the risk by adopting various regulations. Problem of Indian economic system is concentration of wealth among few industrialists but lack of technological innovation.

The irony is that the most socialistic policies like public education and public health , unemployment allowence, labour rights etc can be found in these capitalist nations and not the so called socialistic nations. It's a simple fact that you can implement socialism only from within a capitalist economic model. Our problem is we try to implement socialism within the socialist economic model and economy will collapse.

ചരിത്രം പരിശോധിച്ചാൽ സർക്കാരിന്റെ കരുത്ത് കാണാം. കോർപ്പറേറ്റുകളെക്കാൾ എത്രയോ മടങ്ങ് ശക്തരായ നാട്ടുരാജ്യങ്ങളെ ഇൻഡ്യൻ യൂണിയനിൽ ചേർത്തു. ടാറ്റായുടെ എയർലൈൻസ് 1953 ൽ ഭാരതത്തിൻറെ സ്വന്തം എയർഇൻഡ്യ ആക്കി. 1969ൽ വലിയ 14 ബാങ്കുകളെ സർക്കാരിന്റെ സ്വന്തം ആക്കി. കൽക്കരി ഖനികൾ, വ്യവസായ ശാലകൾ അങ്ങനെ പലതും ദേശസാൽക്കരിച്ചു. ഇതെല്ലാം വമ്പൻ കോർപ്പറേറ്റുകളുടേത് ആയിരുന്നു.
ചുരുക്കത്തിൽ, സർക്കാരിനു ഏത് കോർപ്പറേറ്റിനേയും നിയന്ത്രിക്കാനും മാറ്റാനും കഴിവുണ്ട്. അതു പോലെ ഏത് സർക്കാരിനേയും മാറ്റാൻ ജനത്തിനും കഴിയും. അതുകൊണ്ട് ഈ കോർപ്പറേറ്റ് പേടി നമ്മൾക്ക് അവസാനിപ്പിക്കാം.

ചിട്ടയോടും നല്ല രീതിയിലും നടത്തി വലുതായ കമ്പനികൾ തന്നെയാണ് ഈ കോർപ്പറേറ്റുകൾ.
ലാഭത്തിൻറെ 30% (ഇപ്പോൾ) കോർപ്പറേറ്റ് ടാക്സായി നല്കി നാട്ടിലെ നിയമങ്ങൾ പാലിച്ചാണ് ഈ കമ്പനികൾ നടത്തുന്നത്.
സർക്കാരുകളെക്കാൾ കൂടുതൽ പേർക്ക് തൊഴിൽ നൽകുന്ന പല കമ്പനികളും ഉണ്ട്.

താങ്കൾ ക്യാപിറ്റലിസം ഒരു ultimate സത്യം ആയിട്ടങ്ങ് കരുതിയാണ് സംസാരിക്കുന്നത്. മോഡേൺ മെഡിസിനും ക്യാപിറ്റലിസവും താരതമ്യം അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് നടത്തിയത്. ഒരു crisis വരുമ്പോൾ ക്യാപിറ്റലിസം ഒപ്പം നിന്ന employeesനെ കൈവിടും എന്നത് സത്യമാണ്. കോവിഡ് കാലത്ത് അത് കണ്ടതുമാണ്. ആ കാര്യത്തിനെ താങ്കൾ എവിടെയും address ചെയ്തത് കണ്ടില്ല. ഇന്ത്യ പോലെ ജാതിക്കും മതത്തിനും ആളുകൾ വളരെ കൂടുതൽ വില കൊടുക്കുന്ന ഒരു രാജ്യത്ത് capitalism, crony capitalism ആയി മാറുമെന്ന് നമ്മൾ കാണുന്നതാണ്.
പിന്നെ profit based ആയെ ആളുകൾ (അതാണല്ലോ ക്യാപിറ്റലിസത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനം) പോകൂ എന്ന താങ്കളുടെ വാദം മത-ലോജിക്ക് തന്നെ അല്ലെ? അതായത് societyക്ക് ഒരാൾ contribute ചെയ്യണമെങ്കിൽ അയാൾക്ക് എന്തെങ്കിലും financial benefit കിട്ടണം എന്നത്, പുസ്തകത്തിൽ ഇല്ലെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ എങ്ങനെ നന്മ ചെയ്യും എന്ന് മതവിശ്വാസികൾ ചോദിക്കുന്ന പോലെ തന്നെ അല്ലെ?

Praveen, I think there was an error about Capital gain in the US. In my understanding it is taxed. Last year when I sold a few stocks I had to pay taxes for the gain.
Yes, I was talking about foreign investors in US. Like me or any Indian resident need not to pay any capital gain tax in US but we will be taxed from Our resident country when you bring your income here. For people lives in middle East, that's also not required.

You cannot term it as fanciful. It's a fact that countries that followed a left lenient economic system never have ever prospered to the level of nations that followed an economic system that's tilted more towards a liberal economic system. Socialism can be implemented only under a capitalist economic system. Problem with left lenient economies is that they try implementing socialistic principles with in a leftist economic model and it's bound to fail as they will never be able to get enough revenue to fund these social infra. Take the major indices and I am challenging you give me atleast 5 nations which has prospered by driving their economies on your left economic system. US and other capitalist nations of the West are able to subsidise heavily because their government get necessary revenue even though it's by taxing individuals. But even to tax individuals there should be enough generation of wealth in the economy and this wouldn't have been created if it drove it's economy on leftist trends. Socialistic principles like welfare economics, public education, public health and subsidies are getting funded because of the wealth being created in the economy by virtue of liberal economic policies.

We are still one of the poorest country in the world with more than 80 percent of population still living with less than 2 dollars a day. Creating wealth and equitable distribution are two different things. GDP and economic growth are just indicators based on percentile averages. That's why UNDP and WEF are giving importance to indicators like HDI, Gross happiness index, index of income equality, gender equality index etc. Its the standard of living and quality of life that matters not things like gdp and growth rate. I am not a communist, but u must understand many of the basic things in our world like 8 hrs work, universal adult suffrage, womens and children right, social welfare policies came into being due to leftist politics. Learn world history, the greatest contribution of capitalism is two world wars and whenever capitalism creates economic problems left oriented public policies are the only saviour. So ur love for capitalism is just blind faith. Even countries like US have learnt to regulate multi nationals and corporates but in our country the honest taxpayers money are not used for their well being but it is given to further incentivise the corporates. The farm laws being the last one in such measures of incentives. Therfore learn economics from proper learnt people, rather from some local MBA college graduates and then talk. Regarding ur comment on HDI, dear bro countries that have bagged top positions in HDI index are Scandinavian nations like Norway, Denmark and Sweden if you look at their economic poliices they aren't so called capitalist nations either, even US or other European nations cannot compete with them but their GDP and economic growth are much lower than US and other countries in europe, their example shows that money alone doesn't improve quality of life. Therefore come out of your shell and try to understand the reality.
