This book is very hard to put down. I am blown away by the art and writing. I’ve read many omnis this year and this one is looking to take the #1 spot. I’ve only read like 10% of this massive book which I began today, and I’m already hoping there’s enough material for another Slade Wilson Omni as good as this one. It must’ve been challenging for anyone taking over after Christopher Priest, that’s for sure.

This is one of my favorites characters in DC ,and I would like to see a omnibus with the 80's and early 90's material ! For me Titans hunt is one of the great sagas of the group and Deathstroke plays a big role in that!
Yup if you want nuanced layered portrayals get Priest (Formerly aka James Owsley?) to write it. He also goes out of his way to find scientific explanations for their powers (like the gravity sheath). This seminal arc deserves to be collected and read as one long story. Pagulayan & Suayan (who does some B-covers) are my fav Pinoy artists and Pasarin is also a very underrated artist. This book is an 11/10 recommendation.

The New 52 runs of Deathstroke were let downs for sure. I kinda liked the first one written by Kyle Higgins and drawn by Joe Bennet. That Tony Daniels one that got an omni too...ohhh...not so good. @@timthehandler True, Priest’s name is indeed on Deadpool Classic Omnibus Vol. 1. Although that’s not a Priest-only book, or even mostly his work. He wrote just 13 of the 50+ issues in the omnibus. He does get top credit, though, since his run comes first in the volume.

I know very little about Deathstroke outside of him being a mercenary and seeing him in the Arkham Origins. Should I read something else before starting this run? They seem to reference a lot of characters and events and it's not always easy to understand when it's supposed to be an unknown event to the reader, and when it's an event that happened in the comics in the past.
No. This run was meant to be a jumping on point for new readers. All you need to know about Slade beforehand is that he is the archenemy of the Teen Titans/Titans, which the book explains anyway since both of his kids were members of that Team. All of the confusing aspects of the character get retconned here anyway. So just drive right in.
Probbly the new teen titans, he had his first apearence also events like the judad contract. Also , i dont think its must but he had an ongoing comic Deathstroke the terminator , i didnt read it yet but it was his first ongoing comic.
I love Deathstroke so much that years later, I'm still butthurt about about how Batman Arkham Knight jipped me out of a one on one, hand to hand fight between him and Batman. Oh man, it was all build up and no payoff. Meanwhile the Arkham Origins game that came out before did really right by him. Legendary character.
Sucks to miss out on his, I loved Deathstroke in Arrow season 2. But gotta save for November / December, they're gonna woop my wallets ass for how much I'll be spending

Today I watch this video and thinking, why the hell didn't they do two omnis :D But to be fair that looks 100 % unreadable and is only a collector's item. I'm pretty sure the previous edition of _Deathstroke versus Batman_ was just a regular hardcover, not oversized. Unless I see it at a crazy price, I think I'll stick with the trades... this seems impractically thick to me (would've been all over a two volume version though). Out of curiosity, where do they map the Holiday Special story? As I recall, it was shoved almost randomly at the back of one of the trades.

Judas contract was a very crazy read I felt there were both bad .. deathstroke was with a minor but she was far more villains than him & wen it comes to super heroes it is less about genre & age & more about who has more powers swings around a bigger pair that would be the little teenage girl not deathstroke.. he was still a dirtbag but by no means manipulating her like we were lead to belive

Hey Omar, This book looks really cool. Always liked the character of deathstoke but strangely never picked up his solo series.
Gonna pass on this one but I would be all in on an omni that reprints his 90s series written by Wolfman and covers by Zeck!
The 90's series was cancelled after the 5th tradepaper back :(. I would buy an omnibus of his 90's run in a heart beat.

It is a good jumping on point and the only thing I suggest strongly to read before this is The Judas Contract.

The beginning of its new 52 was bad. Later on Tony Daniel writes and it's better but, average at best with some good moments.
Deathstroke is much better in his 90's run and rebirth run.

@@Gardi93 the first time I bought from them, it was a backorder omnibus of Batman road to no man's land. And then without telling me moved the two week delivery window begining of September to the begining of November •_• idk if I should buy from there again lol
Lots of DM places didn't get their orders, CGN updated their release to next week. I would check there
