And then the whole way from there to the end as the music builds, you lay out this great juxtaposition between the scene on the beach and the times at/creating the school, perfectly timed and really effective. And the beginning is excellent too; the cuts to young Erik for the "I am small" etc lines in particular got me. So, yeah, the whole thing is awesome.

Wow. Just wow. I love this whole video, start to finish. The song is an excellent choice, lends just the right touch of the tragedy to a movie that (for a good amount of it) had a very light tone. Your editing is just fantastic, and your timing is impeccable, especially during the instrumental section around 3:10. Though I am curious, why the mansion as the final shot?

(1/2) When I try to explain these things it always feels like I'm bullshitting people, but i'll try! Throughout the vid I have tried to create little 'flashbacks', like PTSD induced, of Erik's past. For instance, Charles holding the gun - Schmidt doing the same thing at the concentration camp. Almost everything reminds Erik/has parallels with his past, and it's always a bad memory that dampens his enjoyment of the happy present.
(2/3 jfc) The ending, however, is different because Erik is no longer comparing a current happiness with a bad memory but rather the contrary: he DID have a good thing and HE let it go, and this time it really was HIS fault. So now his trauma works differently: instead of correlating the good things that are happening to him with bad experiences in his past,
