Unc fan here...we dont have anything to pull for..lol..but it was fun to watch 2 well coached teams play.... This may be a great loss for Duke....a wake up call ,maybe to find things they need to work on before turny time.... Really love Scheyer as coach and what else can you say about Flagg ??phenom....!!!! Getting to the sweet 16 is basically a given for Duke so it depends on who youre matches up against the next 4 games... Looking forward to march madness....
Don't expect Duke to be National Champs. It ain't going to happen. They'll meet a team of physical men down low that'll force the guards to hit shots. That's a losing game.
@MichaelPatton-i8x a disadvantage duke has is that they play a weaker schedule than them sec teams..may hurt them.... I think i heard that duke has the tallest team in the country... Maluach is a big guy and duke does have some shooters.... My worry for duke is that they become TOO reliant on flagg..what if he gets injured or a team defends him well and he is neutralized ?? This is what makes it fun ... debating with fans about different things ....
As a true Duke of course i want them to win every game BUT i told myself if they lose this one its not going to be a big deal . You have to understand when you are running the table like we have a loss here and there isnt a bad thing ( just look a gonza year after year) they shot great and our defense wasnt that good and copper slipped and we still had a chance to win the game.
Flagg looked gassed for much of the game, including cramping up. And every damn loose ball and bounce went Clemson's way. Credit them for outhustling and out toughing Duke. Their big freaking center had his way all game long. Maluach couldn't do anything with him and neither could anybody else on Duke's team. A big, mobile and skilled center like that guy might be Duke's only achilles heel.
We got our butts handed to us tonite. Soft, slow, and no defense. We need to learn what rebounding is all about. We didn’t come ready to compete. What we did accomplish however, was educate the rest of the college teams is what it takes to end our season!!! Number 2 is really maybe 32!
I appreciate Jon's willingness to give Clemson the credit for pulling this game out in the last moments. But Flagg didn't slip. If you go back and watch the replay you'll see Sheifflien tripped him. Hard to say whether it was deliberate or not but it WAS a foul and should have been looked at by the refs since it was within the last 2 minutes of the game.
That was not a trip, and Clemson was up by 2 pionts at that time anyway, and Clemson played Flagg tough he missed a lot of shots because of good defense, Clemson just played the better game, but that was one of the most competitive games i seen all year good game by both teams.
mauluach is sick and weak. he can't hold the ball with his big hands. now the team's weakness has been exposd. they only have 6 players. these players when meet by a defensive team, they no longer can shot don't know what to do. clemson just attack easily, shot easily, drive easily. duke has no guards who can penetrate and pass the ball around. sorry i'm a duke fan
