Brother this is one of my favorite pieces of all time (and I'm old as fucking hell). I don't normally dig the "check this out as metal" stuff, but brother you're a master and a true artist. I saw your first version years ago, and wept. Noticed this today, and wept all over again. I do love the original orchestral piece don't get me wrong, but your take on it - IMHO - is the way the real life of events went. It wasn't classical or orchestrated - it was badass heavy and raw, just like your work here. I wish I had your gift brother, but all I can do is write and without the other half it's not much.
Thank you for your work, and for sharing it.
F.Y.I. The violinist in this video is the composer: UA-cam video: Dougie MacLean - The Gael
Huh?
Now read this comment starting at the 1:00 mark and feel how epic this comment is! 😂👍🏻
Beautiful comment. Raw truth
Beautiful .
My gold fish listened to this.
He is now a Los Angeles Class submarine.
Kasey Brown
Very impressive...
But is it nuclear based?
Dont you know that los angeles is sinking into the ocean, and no, its not gods will, its tectonics, and you should move the fuck out of there
I dont even know what this means but it appears funny on the surface so I shall like it
Yay! Another like!
Yes.... YES!!... my power is growing!!
Hahahahahaha that's great!!
There are songs and music that make me weep every time I hear them played. I dont know why. This is one of them. Perhaps this is a reminder of everything we Native Americans have lost and can never regain.
Settling America was a mistake, no good has ever come from that enterprise.
Kinda makes you want to regain what we can, huh?
We are one tribe now, regards from BOII HAIMA

One of those pieces I will never get tired of. It's been my favourite for months. Beyond awesome.
When you're the last of your kind and the metal finds you.
@jamie 123 .. It does sound a bit Scottish, obviously this Iconic piece of Music belongs to the "Mohawk Nation of the Hudson Mohawk River Valley" Hope I have their "Location and Name" right out of full respect for these "1st Nations People of Turtle Island" Kia ora [Ya ta say] O'siyo sago wado A'ho
[Native of Ngati Porou Nation [NZ] with "Ancestral" ties to the Navajo-Hopi Nations of North Western Arizona]
@jamie 123 .. Well I should have read the information about the tune sorry I got it all wrong the thumb-nail sucked me in as the Photo Portrays to me what looks like an American Native Woman and naturally thought it was their song/tune which was odd to me and funnily enough well how Fucking Stupid of me is right & embarrassing Lol I will look into back-ground info before commenting in future as I have a love of Native/s Peoples World-wide
@jamie 123 .. How interesting I love the history of different Cultures whether Tribal- Celtic and/or Clansman or however I mean to say that I don't wanna press any more buttons that I've wrong-fully put down- Gaelic Peoples of Scotland Wow! I am Native of New Zealand I don't know my Scottish Ancestry my Grandfather "Abe Eparaima Mclean" never spoke of it and I never thought to ask but have wondered many times- many (Natives) Maori here in NZ are of Scottish Decent thanks for letting me know and once again my mistake, Btw I Love the Scots as I do all Indigenous Peoples especially the 1st Nations Peoples of Turtle Island and Canada [Kia ora] means hello and thank you in my language of Maori and can be used as an acknowledgement of agree-ment as one says Goodbye
[Native of Ngati Porou Nation * New Zealand]

If I may ask a request of your epic talent to bring out intense depths in music with a unique sound all your own, I'd ask you do Color Of The Wind from Pocahontas, the way you did this song and your other songs is insane, I would especially love to hear your talent on another powerful song like this one though for sure and Color Of The Wind would be nuts, that and/or The Heritage Of The Wolf from Balto (scene where he howls with the white wolf) anyways, your talent is incredible, keep up the phenomenal work!

I fell in love with Uncas as a preteen. It was such a heart wrenching movie and the music was beautiful 😍
Curiously, the actor's name is Eric Schweig.
Yes it was
I love this song because it perfectly captures the emotional experience of choosing to leave comfort to do the right thing to help others.
When our Empire falls you are free to reclaim as much as you can hold. Please reclaim Southern California 🙏🏻
Your right my friend
"Great Spirit, Maker of All Life. A warrior goes to you swift and straight as an arrow shot into the sun. Welcome him, and let him take his place at the council fire of my people. He is Uncas... my son.
Tell them to be patient and ask death for speed; for they are all there but one -
I, Chingachgook - Last of the Mohicans."
EPIC!

Long life to you my brothers and families.
Uncas' death was the most devastating and unnecessary of the film.
Great lines. I have often wondered in Eric Schweig wasn’t a bit miffed that this story was written about his character, the true hero of the tale, Unca.
@@sandwichbreath0 But he died in the book, which was written in 1826. That's too much history to change. Not to mention that if he didn't die in the movie, Chingachgook wouldn't be the Last of the Mohicans, so the title would mean nothing.
Found the first cover MetalHawk did of this song when it had 25k-30k views. Now it is at 15M. Recently found this Ext Version and I am blown away yet again. I feel I may responsible for 10% of some of these views like many commenters here. Keep it up.
Trevor Jones original score "Promontory", I use it to go running with, looped, while imaging I'm running through the forest chasing a stag I can never bring down...
Это самая выдающаяся версия! Шедевр! Спасибо! Супер!!!!!
Beautiful rendition. Preserving the melody of the Original and the spirit of Metal. What a fusion !!

Thank you METALHAWK for making this song more badass
The original "Last of the Mohicans" score is one of my favorite pieces of music. This arrangement is absolutely fantastic! Rock and roll! You kept every perfect note and made it metal! Awesome!
@jamie 123 song is called Gael and yes :)
Hey davey929, have you heard this version? F.Y.I. The violinist in this video is the composer: UA-cam video: Dougie MacLean - The Gael
Excellent!! Now we need an extended version of the extended version. :)
yes sir.
It's called "Loop" or "repeat". lol
I'm speechless! All I can say is wow! Amazing! Best cover of "The Gael" that I've found!
Thank You!
My grandmother was born in 1913 on a Cherokee Reservation in North Carolina. My grandfather was born in 1906 in County Cork Ireland. They married and had my father in Hell’s Kitchen Ny in 1946. I was born in Florida in 1987. I’m a man out of time, and my heritage is split. This song feels like home. 🤘🏻
Shane... I'm about 1/3 Native American, on my mother's side, with Irish making up that last third.
...and 100% German/Frisian on my father's.
Believe me, I can relate. lol
Lol you Do realize its an irish song?
Irish Cherokee. In the "first families of Tennessee " book
It should. You are home. Your heritage is here, and this song just drives it home what it means to be American.
It was written in 1992 by a American
Sent this around to 40 or 50 friends on ig. Hopes it gets the attention it deserves. Metal power for the soul.
Intoxicated 😭❤️
I went to my local outdoor range today and a man out there told me that once he pulled up there and there was an Indian wearing just his flaps practicing shooting his bow and throwing a tomahawk. He said the man was good too.
one of my favorite songs with some metal in it,,,,,with a punch
Where's the I'm in love button??? Genius!!!🥰🥰🥰
I wasn’t ready for that guitar. Niiiiiiice.
This song is just full of feeling and resolve. It motivates to do better. This is just my opinion.
Thank you for kicking it up an immense notch.
I just listened to this for the first and it is breathtakingly beautiful! 💖💖💖
My son listened to this, now he is my father.
That almost seems like a "Chuck Norris" joke 😂
I always thought that Trevor Horns music was a masterpiece. But this one's next level 👍 Epic!
WOW!!!!! Cant believe I'm only finding this extended version now. I've already listened to the 03:49 version about a hundred times. Thank you 🙂🤗🤘
Best version EVER ! My funeral music just has to be.........
One of the best music/video’s on UA-cam.
It's not really a video, however, I have no problems with looking at that girl for 8 minutes :)
Joking apart, 'Promentory' is one of the most epic songs of all time, and when it meets metal, it is just perfect!
FREAKIN' EPIC
Such a great movie! It has everything!! Love and loss, conflict and triumph. The majesty and beauty of the American eastern wilderness and the abject horror that is war and its consequences. The deep and complex philosophies of the beginnings of the American Revolution are contrasted against the smallness and heated passion, of two men's conflict over a woman. The portrayal of how cheap life is and yet incredibly precious at the same time ...
The song does it justice :) a worthy inclusion :) 🤘🤘❤💪

Technically, the movie was shot in canada
I remember as a kid (10) I used to play/rewind/play/rewind/play the last scene over and over again for this EPIC theme and action scene
I COULD LISTEN TO THIS NONSTOP, FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!!!!!!
music that has soul ,music that touch you .
Never cared for remixes I feel they should always be equal or greater then the original. This is done well. Glad I came to the site.
First few notes always gives my body the chills it's amazing.
Loved the 1st one you did but the extended version, even better. LOVE IT!
Very nice metal version rock on
I love your version of this song! With my rock band we played it in a small show organized by the slovenian community in Argentina. Great job man!

That was bad ass! My favorite rendition of this by far!
Perfect. I always thought the other version needed a good ol’ extension. Bravo.
The Spirits of the fallen Mohicans heard your call. They're back on the Warpath 🤘🤘
Goosebumps..! Literally
Energetic Inspirational Powerful & Euphoric all at the Same time.
The composition itself is a beautiful symmetry of Music and this version is like " Sonee pe Suhaaga" (In Hindi).
Love & Respect from The East.🇮🇳👌
Beautiful ...brings back such fond memories...
Beautiful
I'm at 0:35 in... I ALREADY LOVE THIS!!!
You couldn't nail this song more perfect! Well done!
i will be honest, i thought this would be another mash the cords metal cover. That being said i stand corrected and enthralled.
Great work!!! Was fantastic!!! Also the girl is off the hook!!!!!
Incredible version! TLoTM was underrated as a movie, and Daniel Day-Lewis brought it home!
Song was out way before the movie and has nothing to do with native Americans lol
@@chrisdykes8058 where did he in the comment say anything about it being Native American music? Go on? Nah delete your comment before someone sees it quickly…
Excellent and professional work of metal beauty!!! This masterpiece is flawless!!! Man you nailed it😉!
I am not tired, nor too tired but VERY MUCH TOO TIRED...... this tune is not called "Last of the Mohicans" ( this is the name of the James F. Cooper book).
The name of this tune is THE GAEL, and the composer is the great British Scottish musician DOUGIE MCLEAN
Pedro Macías thank you for the insight on this. That is interesting! Pay tribute to who it is truly owed. I hope OP hearts your comment for exposure
I dont see it as him saying that is the name of the song, I see it as him remembering it from the movie "Last of the Mohicans" which probably would get more exposure than saying The Gael turns metal.
@@anonymousdev1l Could be.... but, anyway, The Last of the Mohicans is the name of a book from James Fenimmore Cooper and 2 films versions and the music is the soundtrack of the last version.
@@pemacal57 he should have at least mentioned it description you are right.

This is AWESOME!!! Had to share with everyone...Thank you.
Reminds me of my pops, me him watching the movie, how he moved when the good part comes in scene..... Where the chase, August...
I like to imagine how they would have reacted if this guy and a talented crew were put in a time machine and played a version of this in Woodstock in 69. They would have either loved it or hated it.

Poetry. Strength. And definitely epic!

Hail to "Great Spirit and Natives" from Italia!
Bloody awesome...wish i had the tabs for this long version....i would love to play this myself to my girlfriend at our wedding.
Amazing guitar playing 😮😮! I just love the song 😉😉
Not sure why it took me until now to search for a metal version of this theme but god dammn this is exactly what I was hoping for!! You knocked it out of the park with this one, truly stellar job. Subscribed and wishing I fond you sooner. The sound mixing is excellent and this truly slaps!!!!!!
absolutely!!! the reverb in the beginning and then 1:04 getting down to business

@Adrian Schneider Do you have any complexes to show everyone your good music taste?
@Adrian Schneider aaa, you don't understand? Just because you want to listen to music out loud does not mean that everyone must do it with you.
And now you got a 100 pound wolf, about to do battle with your neighbours with a musket and a tomahawk?

Lo, there do I see my mother
Lo, there do I see my sisters, my brothers and my friends

Yes...this is Damn awesome !!!
I have no words to say. This Arrangement is Simply the best.
A fantastic Metal version of the title song by far the best film adaptation of the JF Cooper classic! Lucky that this movie is so good that a remake is a mortal sin!
If somebody does it anyway, he goes straight to hell! 👿
Sorry matey but this film was the remake of a long running series in the UK titled yup you guessed The Last of the Mohican's, by the BBC 1970's but i got to admit this was a very fine film and can be watched many times over and it still gets you. I think the TV series may have aired in the US but don't quote me on that.
@@allanjohnson6096 Never heard of books then?
@@allanjohnson6096 The film is based on the book Last of the Mohicans by James Fennimore Cooper written in the early 1800s.
I haven't seen the BBC series but I presume it's also based on the same book.
@@allanjohnson6096 Also sorry, but this Movie is not a remake of a BBC-series, it's a adaption of the JF Cooper Book from 1826, made by Michael Mann.
It's also the at time last adaption, it's grandious, atmospheric, a nailbiter, has no weaknesses, no lengths!
The actors are casted perfectly (Wes Studi!), the music is great and it's one of my absolut favorite Movies!
