No disrespect…Will someone please explain to me why DaBrat didn’t use her own eggs. I would have thought she would have used her own eggs since Judy already has her own biological kids.
I thought she used her own egg. I know it was stated that her wife had complications when they attempted to harvest eggs from her. I just assumed that Brat used her own after that. I do however understand that if her egg wasn't used it was likely because of her her age. Shes the older of the two by a few years so they might have thought it was better to use the eggs of the younger spouse..
She and doctor explained it on her UA-cam channel. Brat was 48 when they went to do the egg extraction and Judy was around 41. Sooo, the oddd were already not in Brat's favor, but it actually turned out that there wasn't a choice as Brat had no eggs according to her doctor. So, it was either going to be Judy's eggs or a donor egg.

I heard her explain this on the show, my only question is: she stated that they wanted a "black" baby but goes on to say how asking someone they knew would've made it weird and they simply didn't want to go that route. Also, didn't want to have to explain later on, the issue with identity crisis. After they were given the reality that they only had one choice, why didn't they reconsider investigating finding someone they knew, to get what they truly wanted, a Black baby, with all these people around them who supported them, rather than go with the options that only the clinic offered? I mean, the donors they limited her to, were THEIR LIMITATIONS, but not her own. She placed her own limits on her circumstances when they chose not to consider someone they knew, etc. Jmo. But, "weirdness" was out the door from the jump when they decided to have a natural birth. I mean, the entire situation is unique, not "weird", in that she's carrying her wife's egg, using an anonymous person's sperm, etc. But they drew the line at "no sperm from friends"? What if 100 of her friends donated sperm, and somehow it got mixed with the wrong photo? Is it the knowing who fathered the child that makes it "weird" or is it the knowledge that it's not a friends sperm?
You raise some very good questions and points because I was thinking that too.. I personally didn't understand why they wouldn't ask an associate or trusted platonic friend to be a donor ,as opposed to an anonymous donor from a sperm bank. They could have still asked the person to do genetic ,StD..etc testing ..That child is going to grow up and want to know who his father is. Explaining to him that they don't know the father and only saw a picture of him might be kind of weird.Was the sperm bank they went to seriously the only option or did they look into other options? I know that there aren't as many black men donating their sperm to sperm banks as men of other races but damn....
