new necro main here, our main bug we abuse is cooldown from 2 sources: aphotic aspect and reaper's which make corpses. without these 2 combined bugs the class would be a lot less appealing to play.
also minion build can very easily get into blood begets blood as additional blood orbs is an easy temper, minions actually benefit from the blood orb healing, and using hemo lets us use aspect of might for DR that we need
We still have bugs but compared to rogues and barbs and sorcs doing 140s these bugs are very minor. We are dropping below 130's with the elixir change and so weve just been cemented as a bad class. With the bug we were competing with other classes (though it was much much harder as we're way squishier and the holy bolt was very conditional) but without it we are just dead in the water.
Blood begets blood is okay, requires you to make some changes and lose damage to get it though and it wont ever have great uptime in single target. Hemerohage is really bad as we do not have a skill slot for it and aspect of might is even worse as we are losing either lots of damage or lots of dr for it. We are already forced to drop hardened bones which is 25% compared to mights conditional 20% because we just need more damage. Technically you could run might and drop blighted and aphotic but youre losing like 50% damage to do that and its just worse than hardened bones.
We have bugs, but we aren't relying on those, we prefer to not have bugs but things that work and some DR. Blizzard still don't understand what a necro actually is.

Agreed. Holy bolts got so much attention but the CDR is completely enabling golem builds. Without the extra corpses from bugged reapers boss fights would feel much worse. Minions still suck at a base level.
Time to play some mages but I really struggle with gear pieces to temper and try. I’m very busy at work and when I’m off I ride my motorcycle. Sometimes I can’t fit 2 hours of play. Recently I’ve been sitting in helltide a lot to get some gear but daaaamn it’s so bad and out of luck
I was kind of expecting more with the patch with how blizzard talked about it. Especially since they referenced it was going to meant for the ptr at first. So I guess I was expecting a bit more changes, and for underperforming builds and a lot of issues and problems people have been having being addressed somewhat. While it's nice some builds are being brought up a bit, it's still fairly disappointing imo.
I agree. IMO Blizzard would really benefit from sitting down with top players of each class and looking at the peak of each build and doing balanced based on that, or even just from doing math themselves, rather than just winging it like they are now. It feels like they look at a build that's weak and think, "Eh 10% should be enough" when in reality the build needs 500% lol
I agree. And it's a reaccuring thing. They talk alot of hype then screw us. I'm just worried it'll be the same with the exspansion. Abunch of crap, the a sub par fix that they make us wait a month for

Nice insight on the patch. I got a blood surge build that can clear pit 100 now. Wondering if you can also play some blood surge after the patch.
How fast you clear the 100 without bolts?
I want to try more builds but its extremely time consuming to try any build. We'll see if I get to blood surge, no promises

i run a thorns golem build, and can barely handle a level 61 pit tier. any chance you could have a look at my build and point out my mistakes?
Also shadow blight become more stronger and use bone storm as ultimate. And is the one of the few build that have benefit both doombringer/starles sky/harlequin crest

Bone spirit is incredibly good but requires insane gear and rolls.

Yes
The power creep never ends.
Plenty of room to increase the power of things that are already way behind the top strategies without it really shifting too much. The nerfs to pits probably do the most for "power creep" in this patch.
But there's probably something else bugged in here that will break something else for all we know.
where u taking this skeleton and golem max pit levels? there is any ladder?
The max roll leaderboard was a good source but it recently ended. These days its all word of mouth

How is golem below shadow minions when all the highest PIT tiers achieved are all Golem builds? The highest PIT tier with Necro is 144 with a Golem build so i'd say it's the other way around.
WIth bolts, bolts is getting nerfed, golem on it's own i can't find a 144 clear. Bolts nerf is huge for necro and drops them by huge amounts.
Blood surge/blood surge minions still gonna be pants or is blood surge useable(ish) now?
No minion blood surge might be okay actually, able to do like 90s quickly. Its hard to say because we dont know how much they are nerfing pits

For bone spirit, no minions
So you have to have specific types selected when you sacrifice to get specific boots? I didn’t know that
I mean minion necros have nothing to do though so dodging is easier

This patch for me sucked. I want to minion and i need dr and not rely on holy bolts. At least if minions were targeted and could body block... that would help
still be higher dmg with golem
No matter how much higher of clears mages get compared to golems people will always claim this... what would it take to convince you mages are better?

Not excited. I'm focused on pushing high pits. Doubt it will be competitive with Sorc/Barb now
U can get max "dodge" on necro btw... dodge+block on shield. Its pretty fkin busted imo. In pvp all i see is dodge&block 😂 with the aspect that heals you every "dodge" by 25% yea... pvp they are busted hate em more than sorcs 😂

This doesnt mean much too most of us. I wont go beyond 100 pits. I have no reason to so i just dont care about holy bolt going away since i was never using it anyway.
wow this sux...i been working the past few days to make a necro.....now after the patch and watching this video you quickly convinced me to not play necros and just stay barb unfortunately.
how about play to have fun rather than trying to be relevant?

I just don't understand ur mage build. I have the complete build. And I can not even kill echo Lilith. What is the secret to make the mages do more DMG?
ive tried mage build with shitty gear (no GAs) but have the necessary skill increase (+4 skelly mages, +2 hellbent) and ive seen my mages do 10-30m crit each bolt (which i think was decent).
u have to lineup army of the dead + shadowblight aspect + stand Close to mages for hellbent + flesh eater + also stand near corpse

Theres a lot that could be going wrong tbh, its hard to say. Are you making sure to be near them for hellbent commander? Are you waiting for your AOD until you have blighted? Are you keeping up curses and making sure to spam corpse tendrils?

@@Goblin-Inc question about that. If your like at 98% total attack speed. Does that 30% round as in do you get a portion of it?
As a rogue player I feel the need to correct you, if we don't stun lock bosses one hit takes us to
unless you get that lucky dodge.
Rogues have infinite more Dr than necro and also have the 100% dodge meaning many mechanics they can just stand in, but even if they do get hit they will not die like necros.
I play both rogue and necro. Can confirm rogues get away with a lot where as necros die everytime they screw up.

this season if u build necromancer with no minion is very bad choice. and u can boost 70%dmg with blood moon breeches and your minion .
