Sha na na at Woodstock really began the 50s nostalgia revival. The years leading up to 69 saw a decline in traditional rock and roll. Only some teens in the late 60s even liked 50s-early 60s R&R.
Sha Na Na played the high school prom band in the 1978 film musical "Grease" but by then not many Woodstock band members were still in the band.I reckon they would have been forgotten if it wasn't for their 90 second 'At The Hop" clip in the Woodstock film and LP! Harold, turn up the mike!
You may not remember the TV variety show they had in the 1970s. :) I was surprised as a teenager when I found out they'd been at Woodstock. Seemed so unlikely.
Sha Na Na sang a doo-wop song to 500,000 hippies, telling them to get a job... ... yeah, I'm not really sure they totally, 100% understood the whole scene...
Sounded great' Alan Cooper singing the bass prior to Bowzer's arrival. There was a point in 1971 where Alan returned to sing bass again when Bowzer was ill to fill in, anybody have video or audio of that? This really rocks' Thanks for posting"

Playing “Get A Job” at Woodstock should be regarded as a landmark event in the world of trolling.
👍😂😂😂😂
Damn that keyboardist is yh cooking it !
Elliot Gino Cahn is the greatest! What a voice from this champion
Thanks!!! This is GREAT!
The pic is actually an event at the Central Park band shell in NYC. It looks as if we didn't even find a way to grease our hair that day.

Jimi Hendrix got them on the lineup at Woodstock and they played Monday morning right before Jimi.

Thanks! I'll have to do that! Don't worry about it not coming out clear!
The piano solo is the same of "At the hop"!

My understanding is that Alan Cooper moved on from the band into a career of scholarship.
There must be more video footage out there somewhere? Thanks for posting.
I was getting advice on how to break up with my last boyfriend, and a good friend of mine sent me this link saying, "Tell him this."
Cool! Thanks for posting, I was only 12 in 1969 so I wasn't at Woodstock! Where'd ya get the protest rally photo from?
