Turning your back in a clinch should be illegal. Jacob could've done many work of in-fighting but puric chickened out of the clinch. He even hang on for his dear life on the rope. What a disappointing fight

You can still attack just not to the back of their head. Refs break that up a lot though. Puric should have been given a timidity warning for that and the intentional falls to waste time and prevent counters.
@@clapdrix72 poor reffing this fight he should’ve either been penalised for turning his back that much or let him get on with it and strike the back for a big school

Incredible war. So hard fought from the jump from both sides, violence and drama, both guys gave 100% and skirted the boundaries of the dangerous game hell bent on victory.
Puric maybe won the first round
He had 2 knockdowns in the 2nd. Granted they were sketchy, but they still count. That's 10-8.
Smith's problem is his physical temperament. He needs to go back to the drawing board. Brute force alone can't win fights. At the clinch he is strong, but closing the distance is problematic. He can't fire at the no man's land zone and ate too many punches. He needs to use more jabs and "theeps" to set up the entrance and dominate at close range. Finally, he has to learn to be more patient and control his frustration. There were signs in this fight that he could do it. Once he develops these skills, he will be a scary fighter for any opponent.

Interesting to see some thought SMITH won. I thought Puric did because of the eight counts and punches to head. If SMITH maintains his attack ability, but works on his defence a bit more, I think he would win. He is a strong tough guy but ends up getting hit a little too much and relieving injuries - though he is very tough and able to continue. I wish he would protest a little less. Good luck to him (and Puric).

Jacob Smith has bad habits - all the time discussing and complaining, elbowing in the neck, kicking a floored opponent in the back, kicking after a refere stop, disrespecting the refere' - Muay Thai fighters learn respect as a core rule for their lifes... and it doesn't mater if he is right or wrong such attitude does not belong into this sport... unbelievable this guy!
He also needs to get some composure if he wants to get to world level, one could argue his temper lost him this fight
not his fault the ref called 2 slips knockdowns. The ref got in the way the minute smithy was working in the clinch… and didn’t give a single warning for the dude spinning around

the referee did everything he could to prevent the real outcome from being revealed and apparently succeeded in doing so well. no wonder Smith was frustrated, this bald-headed "judge" has also previously shown that he is unable to do his job without bias.
