Your legs are like dampers for the forks on your bike. Your rider is the equilibrium of your bike too! I sit in hard turns or sometimes short straights if my rpm is pinned. On jumps I stand and if the terrain is rough.

hello, i am new in this game, can someone tell me how to land? Everytime i land after a jump my Bike slides away and my guy crashes. I have to land exactly straight to avoid slipping

I've been using R3 for sit for more than a year now and have wanted to use it with direct checked on like you do, but I can't wrap my head around holding down the stick I'm actively moving around already for rider lean. Just throws me out of wack, but I did hear from someone recently about maybe trying out a SCUF controller. That sounds like something I could easily adapt to better.

I couldn't make it work either. Especially after a crash, I always immediately loop it bc I forget to hold to sit.. ha
Or just bind sit to a bumper works really well
Its what i used on my thousands of mx simulator hours so was a natural transition, dont force yourself to keep a setting that doesnt work for you
Can you make a video how to download rider gear and skins to your bike.
find sitting down right before u leave the lip and leaning for a scrub will make u scrub allot lower anf more sideways without requring a rlly hard turn of the lip
im 219 hours into this game and honestly there is no quick fix for speed so to speak i found myself getting better after 175 hours or so before i noticed i could rip some competitive laps but ty for the tips lynds.

I was really enjoying the game pre beta18, ever since it's gone into beta 18 I just can't get a feel for the game anymore. I'm not crashing 24/7 but it just feels like I'm going really slow or I'm in the wrong gear in corners, and also turning in general feels really stiff like sometimes i'll use the left stick all way to left/right and barely make the corner and then other times I'll wash out, I probably need to put in more hours and get used to it.

The sit to pull in whips is something I just learned.. I would warn that you will pull it in much faster than usual so it leaves you open to over correcting

I've never asked personally but this is something I really wanted to hear a word on. Once I learn a track I don't really have to think about what I'm going to do in a corner, but if the bike does something I wasnt expecting I would have no idea what caused it or how to change it. Just having some guidelines to follow on how to control the bike when it does something you didnt want it to definitely helps to be able to understand how to fix that and is greatly appreciated. Even though I have 200+ hours since I got the game over a year ago I still was struggling with whats better to get more control over the bike in gnarly situations and this is great advice, thank you.
depending what the bikes doing it will either fix itself and look super sketchy and feel super sketchy or you will just crash theres not a whole lot you can do to save the bike. but id say best option is going to be different majority of the time because it could be a big rut small rut no rut track could be slippery rocky or there could be a jump or a step down or rhythm section you have to hit right otherwise you lose critical seconds so id say just play the game more so you can predict what the bike will do in different situations or play a extremely difficult track so its challenging but overtime you understand what the bike will do in certain situations like an enduro track. same thing would be for real life sometimes theres nothing you can do and you have to bail from it but thats worst case scenario but put yourself in difficult situations that are still achievable or if a line becomes sketchy take a slightly different approach or a different line choice maybe come in with slower speed or more speed its just trial and error bro nothing more to it unfortunately
