@@gillypiexo it flares up my eczema. My lips become sore, dry, cracked, peeling, and the eczema ends up spreading way outside of my lip line making my lips look clown like and awful. I get deep painful cracks in the corners of my lips as well. It also takes ages to subside. The absolute worst is if a lip product is "plumping" like if it is minty, mentholated, cinnamony, or has that chemical in it that gives that plumping burning sensation. Some mild fraigrances like vanilla don't seem as egregious but are still not ideal. The same goes for my eyelids if an eye creme has a fraigrance (artificial or natural). I can tolerate it better on heartier parts of my body like my hands and feet but do tend to get flare ups around my rings and watch if a bit of something fraigranced like hand soap or hand sanitizer gets under there. I can wear some perfumes as long as I don't put it on particularly sensitive parts of my body, especially scents like molecule 01 that are 100% synthetic.
Same! My main problem with Gen G is that it has fragrance. I was so happy to see Glossier is making more fragrance free options for those of us with allergies.
I think they are trying to keep in mind women such as myself (POC) who *also* want to wear these types of products but get tired of brands making them too sheer (and mainly only suited for non-melanin rich women). So I appreciate Glossier making them with women like me in mind. As you stated they are easily blotted down but there would be no amount of building up I could do to make them opaque if they just didn’t have the color pigment to begin with.
thanks for sharing this! Wishing they were more sheer is definitely a matter of my preference rather than an issue with the formula or the release overall. I'm happy to know that the pigment level will be a major benefit to many people

Such a fantastic and thorough review! The one color I knew I didn’t want was Lucite and you completely flipped that upside down. Now it’s the only color I’m interested in. It looks SO good on you!
This entire look you’re in here is literally giving me all the feelzzzz it’s aesthetically perfect 👌🏼 the hair, the top, the earrings, the glossy skin, the barely there makeup and bare eyes is gorgeoussss in every way!!!!
I totally understand people loving certain scents, but I think it was smart move on Glossier's part. Some fragrance irritates my skin, particularly my face and mouth. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I've been so curious about this product!
I totally understand that some people love the sensory experience of fragrance. Me personally, I have a mast cell disorder so fragrance is a big no no. I was so excited to see glossier made some fragrance free lippies, because that’s really hard to find in the makeup world, at least until very recently.
Sheer, balmy lipsticks have always been my favorite formula so I am so happy that this trend is huge right now. It's making all these new options pop up and I'm loving it! So far my favorite of the bunch has been the Elf Hydrating Core Lip Shines. 👌🏻💜 I cannot believe how much I am loving those! 🙌🏻✨
Fabulous first impressions/review, thank you! Also, this top was such a great choice - I found myself appraising all the pinks and reds against the floral print, which was both a visual delight and pretty informative. ❤️
I love how thorough you are in any review you do! I’m always curious about smell and feel and I often find reviews elsewhere that never mention the scent even foundations which drive me crazy when they have a strong scent. :) sending love!
If I do just one swipe, it gives a nice, sheer look on me instead of so much opacity. And I personally love that it's fragrance free! I have fragrance sensitivities and most lip products smell and taste disgusting to me lol. It's so interesting how everyone has different, unique experiences with the same product 💕
@@HannahLouisePoston Really...I speak for all of us when I plead with my full heart for a full new-amazing-shag-in-the-best-possible-iteration in depth discussion. Products, styling, everything.
Yes, my absolute first thought when the video started was, "gah, your hair!!" like I need 10 different adjectives to describe it's perfect amazing-ness but am just speechless...LOVE IT!!!!! :)
Love the thoroughness of the review! I highly recommend the Tarte Sea Quench Lip Rescue Balm for a super shiny but sheer formula (if you haven’t already checked it out). It is also mint flavored, so such a lovely experience to apply (and keep reapplying).
Also, getting MAJOR Covergirl Lipslicks vibe from Villa. I think it's a combo of the packaging, shape, and hue. I actually went on a nostalgia cruise trying to see if they were still around, fun fact, they're very expired and selling for a LOT of money on eBay. I do not *need* these, but if I were out of all of the glossy lip products I own, I think I would consider that one hard.
I absolutely love scented balmy lip products. My current favorite is the too faced heart shaped one!! It’s so beautiful and lasts, even tho it’s so glossy and smell like STRAWBERRIES!!
I personally think these lipsticks look absolutely lovely on you and the light brown especially is not the brown you usually go for but I think it suits you soooo well. It is a little reddish/rosy brown and it works surprisingly well with your ruddy brown undertones in your hair. And the light pink took me by complete surprise. Before you put it on, I would have sworn you would hate it but then it looked stunning. I have pigmented lips, as you do, and so your review has left me intrigued to try this colour in this formula.
Since learning I have dispraxia, easy of use has rocket to the top of my need to know information. If it has to be fussed with I probably can't use it and now I know why. Thanks for saving me a bunch of frustration.
I get what you're saying about these being a bit too shiny and pigmented to overline. I watched quite a few review videos of people trying that red shade Coupe. Without fail, it made everybody look like Miranda Sings.
I'm so glad you did this review because I was looking hard at this product, but I had a different idea of what they'd look like. I assumed it would be much more sheer and wearable. You just saved me a lot of money and disappointment!
Quick footnote from someone for whom the ultralip works a little better than the vinylic: I’m someone who already feels like my lips are too big for my face, so if anything I’m inclined to under line before over line them. Because I’m often trying to downsize the appearance of my lips, I also don’t love that obscenely glossy look on me. HOWEVER, I found that with the vinylic lip, it would look exactly how I wanted it to upon application, but within the hour any pigment would be long gone. With ultralip (I got villa, trench, coupe, and fete) I find that when I apply a thick layer and blot it down like Hannah demonstrated, I’m left with pretty tenacious pigment and moisture without the blowup doll shine! Totally agree that the formula is almost indistinguishable from the Em lip cushion. Plus - and I don’t know if anyone else had this issue - but I always found with vinylic that I’d click the pen a few time...wait...nothing would come up...so I’d click a few more times...and then a volcano of product would spout out the top! That honestly deterred me from using it over the years. Essentially, I agree with absolutely everything Hannah says about this product, those things just happen to work in my favor :)
I was really hoping you'd review these!! Thank you Hannah Edit now I've watched the video: I'm really confused by the pictures Glossier have of these on their website, I've seen a couple of reviews now and they look so different.

Thank you so much! This video was super helpful to me! I was thinking about getting Lucite and Trench. Now I know I only want lucite. The detailed description of the texture and (lack of) fragrance is very, very helpful for me, too. Even though my preferences are not exactly the same as yours - I like a lot of shine, but not a lot of pigment- your video helped me understand whether I want to purchase these, and which colors I want. Thanks! 😊😊😊
That pink oddly was wearable. Reminds me a bit of White Russian. I loved the review. I have a similar lip color. I feel like you look fab in any of these. I can’t Unsee the blow up doll! LOL! Reds are very difficult for me to find a pleasurable shade. Between pigmented lips and a warm to neutral skin tone, shades rarely work. Formula is imperative with reds. I agree that I don’t want a red lip that migrates. Your reviews are very helpful. Thank you for taking the time with us.
We clearly have the exact same taste in lip products, and this was the first review of this product that actually helped me make a decision about whether to purchase or not. I'm gonna pass for now and stick with the balms and glosses I already own. Many thanks for the descriptive, thoughtful review that was something more than "This is beautiful! I want all the colors!" 😊
i totally love wearing products that are lighter than my own lip color since my lips are sometimes too red for my liking. but i also have the issue that those kinds of colors look and perform very weird on my lips. so i’m so excited to try lucite and i’m so thankful i watched your video and that you went into such detail for these products!!
yess i was hoping for a review from you! i haven’t been tempted this much by a release in a while (especially the shade villa) but your point about overlining made me realize this probably isn’t for me. i tend to fuss and rub my lips together a lot if i have smth glossy on and it often migrates outside my lip lines if it’s too pigmented. i think i was hoping for a very sheer easy look and this seems more like a full on lipstick. that being said lucite looks amazing on you!! and girl your hair, wow 😍😍
YES! The Lucite color - I've already ordered it and I KNOW that's not what you promote on your channel, but hear me out. Like you I struggle with finding a glossy light product that makes my lips look juicy and full and finished without looking weird or downright scary. This is the perfect solution! Thank you "Blow Up Doll Hannah" 🤣
Amy, I trust that if you ordered it then ordering it was a good decision for you :) Especially with a unicorn product like this one, I'm happy to be able to share the info and the love!
I agree so much. I really wanted this to be a tinted balm but instead it's just a straight up, scentless lipstick. I don't like the level of opacity at all. Anyway, you explained what this product is so perfectly and I wish I saw it before buying it ☹️
I have really been hoping Villa would be a shade/vibe dupe for Chanel's Boy lipstick. It is my all time favorite color, but a ~bananas~ price to spend on lipstick! Annoyingly, I cannot find a good dupe for it! It seems from the review that Villa is similar in tone, but much more pigmented than Boy. If anyone here has both, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
That red colour is right up my alley! But I won't get it as I know I only wear matte reds because I too like to overline and can't really with a glossy lip Might wear my watermelon red lip today for my date with my fiance :) That pale one is intriguing though. I wonder how it would look on me... I'm pretty sure I'll just always want to wear my gloss bomb in hot chocolit though haha, I wear that every day because it's glossy and brown and goes with everything I could possibly wear or do 😅
I have really been eyeing these balm products lately. Like Persona's e-balm or the Em Cosmetics lip cushion. This Glossier one seems too high maintenance now haha. But I may still yet pick up Generation G 😅
I thought they would all be like Lucite, like semi-sheer watercolor-y shades, like a balmy moist version of the Gen G formula, but sadly they’re clearly not. I was really hoping for something like the Vinylic Lip - with definite color but balmy and effortless. I’m surprised tbh. I was considering Coupe and Fete bc I love reds but now I’m reconsidering bc they look like those really old lipsticks that are so shiny and just messy. I love punchy color but with shiny lip products there needs to be some level of transparency or it just doesn’t look modern, fresh, or good imo. Thank you so much. This review was so helpful. The comparisons were great too.
I know what you mean about the over lining and then using something glossy ruining that illusion, you see it happen a lot in drag makeup. But in this particular case I don't think it actually ruins the illusion of your lips looking fuller it just looks very similar to the way people who have filler look when they over line which is fascinating to me. Like it still looks like your lips they just look more unnatural than usual?
What the crap that top is a dream. If its not in the description please tell me where you got it! Its so pretttyyyyy 😩 UPDATE: Its a dress and its in the description! 😃
I love the pink one on you too, I think you would really like Revlon in color 020 Nude Illuminator. I mentioned this in a previous lip video. I just feel you need it lol it’s a sheer balmy Nude with very VERY tiny sparkles of purples and blues. It’s beautiful & reminds me of something you’d be into. 🙌🙌🙌🙌
I wish I'd seen your review before I purchased! I also hoped it would be more of a light wash than it is. I'm not going to return it but I also don't think I'm going to get as much use out of it as I thought I would.
I absolutely agree, its way too shiny and makes me think of my gran's shiny brown lipstick - if you don't have plump big lips naturally this makes you look older, or like your lips are thin. With shiny sheer lipsticks, I think the dark colours (like ember) work better for that wine stained look - but wouldn't buy the light colours.
I feel like this formula is very reminiscent of Maybelline’s shine compulsion lipsticks (in tone as well), or maybe even Nyx’s ultra creamy round lipsticks
How does the trench shade of the glossier compare to the revlon mink shade? I bought mink and i really like it but i wished that it was a bit thicker glossier and also more opaque so its kind of piqued my interest.
I just swatched them on my hand and Trench is more warm-toned than Mink, it leans more orange and also kind of more peach. Mink is simply more brown and closer to a milk chocolate. But you might like Trench for formula, or maybe even the darker brown that Glossier released in this formula.
May I ask what you’re wearing as a base? I have a very similar skin tone and finding base products that match my skin tone can be challenging at times haha.
You should watch her recent review of the Fenty eaze drop ! She mentions and swatches all the complexion products that she likes and are light enough for her :)
Idk why but I am curious if you'd like this certain red toned lip color I love. I'm not sure if you've tried ysl balm in burnt zellige. I find what you said to be true for the sensory experience. I love the smell of the ysl balm. And their other products like the foundation. It's strong but I like it. Ha!
I finally decided to buy the vinylic lip the week it was discontinued and I've been on the hunt for an alternative since then. Hopefully your review will explain to me if this is. Edit: after watching the review I definetly want Coupe, Trench and Villa. Does anyone know if glossier has any sales?
goldie red really is that bitch. i'd love to hear your thoughts on the fenty slip shine sheer lipstick! i feel like it doesn't get a lot of love but it fades much better than the gucci voile in my experience. it also has a scent (not fruity like the vinylic lip but still pleasant) which i found myself missing when i wore the ultralip today.
no, it's adult size! I actually bought a size L based on the chart even though I usually wear a small or medium in US sizing, and it fits perfectly (ever so slightly oversized, which was my hope). think it might not be listed anymore in the shop :( but you could send them a message and ask about it! I think they do custom pieces.
The first one I feel doesn't go with your aesthetic, it's too made up for what you're going for. Second one is beautiful, and goes well with what you're trying to do. Third one is beautiful, and I hate to say this, but, with it being the colour and shine, looks a little clown like. Sorry 😥, I see what you're saying, they are beautiful, but just not quite right
I love a light porn star lip so munch, I have the same problem with the lines lol . Btw I got the nyma tang nude bundle thing and it's the perfect vampy brown without any red tone, talk about grungy I love

yess i was hoping for a review from you! i haven’t been tempted this much by a release in a while (especially the shade villa) but your point about overlining made me realize this probably isn’t for me. i tend to fuss and rub my lips together a lot if i have smth glossy on and it often migrates outside my lip lines if it’s too pigmented. i think i was hoping for a very sheer easy look and this seems more like a full on lipstick. that being said lucite looks amazing on you!! and girl your hair, wow 😍😍
I’m so happy I found your channel while looking for ultra lip, I’m obsessed! ❤️ new sub❤️
@@HannahLouisePoston absolutely!
This hair is def your final form. We lovveeeee!!
I agree so much. I really wanted this to be a tinted balm but instead it's just a straight up, scentless lipstick. I don't like the level of opacity at all. Anyway, you explained what this product is so perfectly and I wish I saw it before buying it ☹️
You look fabulous...What a great haircut. I love these lippes for summer, excellent review.
Hair looks so gooooood!
But I won't get it as I know I only wear matte reds because I too like to overline and can't really with a glossy lip
Might wear my watermelon red lip today for my date with my fiance :)
That pale one is intriguing though. I wonder how it would look on me...
I'm pretty sure I'll just always want to wear my gloss bomb in hot chocolit though haha, I wear that every day because it's glossy and brown and goes with everything I could possibly wear or do 😅
I get a bit of a sensory overload with scented lip products so I'm really pleased to not be excluded from trying it
The hair is just wow!
I think you would enjoy the formula of the Ere Perez Wild Pansy Tinted Lipbars
They all looked great on you, but specially the last one, the red one, yeah!
I actually thought Trench looked stunning on you! But I get it, I love that Lightweight stain, just bitten lip
The hair is on point!
Yay! Another nice Hannah video as night sets in :)
What the crap that top is a dream. If its not in the description please tell me where you got it! Its so pretttyyyyy 😩 UPDATE: Its a dress and its in the description! 😃
I think the first three look gorgeous on you, but I agree the glossy red is a bit much. I’m a clear gloss girl, but loved watching this review.
Oooh you had me at fragrance free
I love the pink one on you too, I think you would really like Revlon in color 020 Nude Illuminator. I mentioned this in a previous lip video. I just feel you need it lol it’s a sheer balmy Nude with very VERY tiny sparkles of purples and blues. It’s beautiful & reminds me of something you’d be into. 🙌🙌🙌🙌
thank you for the rec! I will keep an eye out!
I wish I'd seen your review before I purchased! I also hoped it would be more of a light wash than it is. I'm not going to return it but I also don't think I'm going to get as much use out of it as I thought I would.
Nice first impressions review, I am contenting myself with all the lip products I already have, mask wearing is still part of my everyday life
I’m getting a lot of Miss Geist from Clueless Realness. She is a style icon for me.
I love your shirt
I absolutely agree, its way too shiny and makes me think of my gran's shiny brown lipstick - if you don't have plump big lips naturally this makes you look older, or like your lips are thin. With shiny sheer lipsticks, I think the dark colours (like ember) work better for that wine stained look - but wouldn't buy the light colours.
I love the colors on you! Plus the outfit; rustic meets feminine
That red definitely reminded me of the Gucci lipstick!
Thanks, Hannah!!!
❤️❤️❤️
I feel like this formula is very reminiscent of Maybelline’s shine compulsion lipsticks (in tone as well), or maybe even Nyx’s ultra creamy round lipsticks
I really enjoyed your views and explanation of the product. New sub here!
We can’t get Glossier in Australia which is a bummer, I like the look of their stuff.. oh well, less makeup for me right? 😉
I think you would love the new tarte maracuja juicy lip!
Hi Hannah! How does the ultra lip compare to the revlon melting glass shine lipsticks?
May I ask what you’re wearing as a base? I have a very similar skin tone and finding base products that match my skin tone can be challenging at times haha.
You should watch her recent review of the Fenty eaze drop ! She mentions and swatches all the complexion products that she likes and are light enough for her :)
@@eleabatista3935 oh I will, thanks for letting me know ☺️
Darn! I should have watched this before ordering lol. I want sheer/lazy/easy. I should have ordered Lucite instead of Villa.
I love lucite.
Idk why but I am curious if you'd like this certain red toned lip color I love. I'm not sure if you've tried ysl balm in burnt zellige. I find what you said to be true for the sensory experience. I love the smell of the ysl balm. And their other products like the foundation. It's strong but I like it. Ha!
I love the ysl makeup scent! It’s so fresh.
@@Rennie212 omg haha yesss! I'm glad someone else does too! 🤗
I finally decided to buy the vinylic lip the week it was discontinued and I've been on the hunt for an alternative since then. Hopefully your review will explain to me if this is.
Edit: after watching the review I definetly want Coupe, Trench and Villa. Does anyone know if glossier has any sales?
Right now everything is 20% off! I came here to decide which color to get!
Was just thinking about your videos!
My lips are pale as paper so I like pigmented lip balms. All I see are sheer kinds so this is a welcome change
I think with these types of lip colours they don't put much white pigment in so those light colours are much less pigmented!
Ok but can you give us what makeup you're wearing here because your face is GLOWING!
do you know if there’s a dupe for the goldie red within the revlon lipsticks ? i feel like i had heard that before but i’m blanking
goldie red really is that bitch. i'd love to hear your thoughts on the fenty slip shine sheer lipstick! i feel like it doesn't get a lot of love but it fades much better than the gucci voile in my experience. it also has a scent (not fruity like the vinylic lip but still pleasant) which i found myself missing when i wore the ultralip today.
Hi Tin! Goldie red 4-everrrrr :) I will keep an eye out for the Fenty!
I actually consumed more than half of goldie red. I hope to finish it this summer!
Is your dress kid size? I love it, but on Etsy I can’t find it in adult size
no, it's adult size! I actually bought a size L based on the chart even though I usually wear a small or medium in US sizing, and it fits perfectly (ever so slightly oversized, which was my hope). think it might not be listed anymore in the shop :( but you could send them a message and ask about it! I think they do custom pieces.
Thank you!!
I think the kosas lipbalm is more in your desure of easy light look
Jesus that was fast
AGREE
Do you have a comparison for the vanillla glip to the rare beauty balm?
no, I've never tried the rare balm!
💖💖💖
Hey Hannah 👋
I think trench is very similar to elf’s golden pear
oooh, I should have compared them. good call
Does Simbry have a channel?
She has an Instagram, named cymbrethinks
